Honestly, I play a mix. Sure, I try to fit the best people often but I also make decisions with no real reason at all other than my own personal fun. Should I have married Aria and have her at home living with me? Absolutely not. But I did. Should I be spending lots of time and money on making Adrienne my accountant (probably my biggest training job so far, her stats are awful)? No, Armand is cheap enough but the bank quest kind of gave me the wrong vibes about him. Should I have released all my salves, make them servants and given them a salary? Oh, well...
Having my own fun and making "my own lore" is as important (if not more) as chasing stats and skills in games. It would be too boring for me if I was "optimal".

I wonder if more guards = more chance to hurry up the event? I hope not but i am wondering.

Nah.

AFAIK the event has a chance to trigger so long as you have at least one guard. The event is just happens to be like 1/100 to trigger.

You could always just save right before midnight and keep ending the day until you get her.

I've sometimes done that with her and the Urchin event line.

Just a little feedback for the dev team.

The new animations are actually nice, but the sandman renders... they are nice per se, but after a while I really grew tired of them. All the girls pretty much look the same. The same faces, the same expressions. I actually turned off the sandman renders for good. Even if the original ones are a bit simpler, at least they look diverse.

Every npc has some status, which is in increasing order - Convict, Slave, Servant, Mercenary, Paragon. You can always see the status in the npc menu, traits & info. Most non-combat people you can hire are servants, combat types are usually mercenaries and some high value ones like Ayden, Milou, Clea and some others are paragons. There are also special statuses for wives and children. The higher status the less you can do with the npc and less jobs they will aceept. For example you can't make a paragon work as a maid.

Yes, I know that. But, would a highly trained servant become a mercenary in status? Or is it set from the start? I must try this.

There aren't that many ways to change status, you can convince someone from a higher status to sign a slave contract, you can clear crimes to change status from convict to slave and you can free a slave, which can restore their original status, that's all I know. And the item to make someone a convict I guess, never used that though. I don't think there is a way to change status to mercenary, probably hiring one that has it initially set is the only way. Or if you are given a choice, like Kelly for example, but that still counts as initial status. What do you need a mercenary for anyway?

TLDR no, status will never change automatically due to stats/etc. There's always a separate button/dialogue option to pick, which might then involve a skill check.

Hover your mouse over their names in the NPC menu to check their status, or check it in the info next to the traits.

Is a fan mod made by a guy named Sandman and he stopped updating them a long time ago. Grim added it to the official mods like he now added the animations mod so that people who want to use it can easily use it without editing the html files every new update.

It's because science course doesn't check age (dev is fixing that in the next version). Npc should be at least 15yo to enroll.

you enslave them, so now you have a very strong core team that need to train sleep shit and fuck with you at all time.

now for the NWO and the assault of the palace you have not much choices, Aria is a mandatory character so having her with you is a necessary pain in the rectum. so what I do then is leave Truls at home, and bring both

along side Kelly and that's basically the strongest possible team you can get for that mission.

as an honorary mention, my other go-to guys that I get every early game are also

that are all cheap and decent fighters enough to tag along the entire game, and recycle later as barman for Doyle, foreman for Jack (after quite a lot of training I'll admit).

with the exception of Ayden and Clea, all the characters I've named can and will carry you early game for very minimal investment in time, and with a little gear you have a great fighting force for less than a hundred bucks a day.

This is my team on my game right now and indeed.. This is really great.
Taking Kelly with the event is not so painfull. I just spent time to read until she pop.

A question for everyone concerning the choice we are making to make money.
Right now i am trying to buy slaves on market , train them and sell them.
The profit can be interesting..

I add the money from the Mill and it is going nice.

I think i ll be tempted at some point with a gameplay Business man.
I know the game is still a work in progress.. i ll see.

Last thing about the gymnastic competition and the 20k.
I can't win.

It is true it takes some time to go grab astrid.
Most of my game i don't have the muscle to pass the guards at the tower entrance.

And it seems after a few turn.. Astrid won't be able to win the competition. I give her the training cloth (not sure it does something atm) and i keep her in gymnastic program to help up her skill.
But in the end she can't win. ALways 3th or 5th..
I don't like reloading my games.. but een when i tried that the first time to see.. it didn't work.
Her stats are too behind.

You don't really need to edit html file. Using console is quite easy once you do it a few times. Press Ctrl+Shift+J, it will open browser console. Paste delete SugarCube.State.variables.cassius and hit Enter. You need to click something for it to take effect like moving to other location or opening other page from home (doesn't matter what exactly). This will reset Cassius encounter. You can find it in Kasey's Park.
If console doesn't allow to paste that line just do what it tells you to allow pasting. You can defnitely corrupt your save through console but it's not that easy though. And not in this particular case.

Json already covered it, but I'd say it's best to just keep playing your save without cheating.

You're going to find that you made a bunch of stupid mistakes starting in character creation, and it's best to figure them out now and then start fresh, instead of cheating or starting over every time you figure something out.

While Cassius is great to have, he does not have a character quest or really anything *that* special.

So after a few tried with Laika.. still no luck.
The competition have skills arround 119 gym skill and Laika got a solid 80.

I tried two differents games.

Anyone won the gymnastic competition in early weeks can explain how to prepar?
Or perhaps 20k shouldn't be easy to farm and it is something that need work for later.
I am not against the situation i am in, i just wonder how some people have won this and see it as an early solution for money.

Making a possible 20k so early in the game just by recruiting a NPC who cost 5/day shouldn't be a thing.
