According to the new Patreon guideline for adult content (Community Guidelines | Patreon), some of you might get your accounts suspended pending review for it's content. In the end we don't know where this will lead, it started early today and by tomorrow a lot of you could be suspended or not. In 5 months maybe it'll all be ok. EDIT: Others took the initiative and cleaned their overview pages, including Dark Silver, Icstor... --------- So far, what seems to trigger Patreon is the following: Banner with nudity (speculation) or banned keywords in the title and other pornographic words. Banned keywords (incest, rape, bestiality...) in the Patreon overview page, (unsure if private messages trigger it). Adult sample images, specially nudity and other sensible content. (unsure if private messages trigger it). Just general descriptions/mentions of hardcore content in a crude fashion. What to do: Remove any of the banned keywords from your titles, overview. Re-phrase your overview to a more professional dry text of what you offer. Remove any samples/banner that contain hardcore nudity and banned keywords captions. Branch, don't put all your eggs in one basket (more on this below). Branching out from Patreon: You shouldn't put all your eggs in one basket, it's fine to use the Patreon platform but you should expand your reach. Start by creating your own website where you can control the message and content, you can then simply link to Patreon and from it (Know that they don't allow linking to material they are banning in the first place, so be smart about how you link your content). Social media is important and it's also a good way to retain user interest in your products. This is your livelihood at stake and it's on the hands of a companies whim, protect yourself by being smart. , it isn't just images, text, keywords, but even down to content as their removing anything with sex, masturbation.....basically porn cause they are openly stating "Patreon is not for pornography..." Basically unless your a photographer/artist/model that the farthest thing you share or post is nudes your ok, but if your content (meaning your product or what people are donating for) has anything more then nudity in it is getting removed along with your account.

Yes they got it back for now, if you read the article & even what Patreon says. That doing something & removing something may not just be all you need to do they may & have the right to just turn around. Deciding that simple doing that isn't enough, they continue to go back & forth on this stuff just as much as PayPal that really your only safe till they just decide to just not allow it period, instead of turning a blind eye too it. Cause just like PayPal, Patreon doesn't allow pornography/adult content & with laws changing in certian countries about pornography & adult content. Sites like them will end up just not allowing it entirely cause certain governments are putting blocks too sites with adult content.

Such as in April the UK will be doing this & I quote, "To enforce these two rules, a new UK regulatory body is going to be given the power to fine violators within the UK, require ISPs to block access to violators’ websites, and — most perniciously — require payment services companies like PayPal stop doing business with violators or face sanctions themselves." Which yes it is just for the UK but their going to go after businesses even outside UK with sanctions/blocks against their site unless they follow their rules.

Which is not just an attack against UK internet but against all internet & smaller sites & sites like this one could be effected & basically burried under so much political BS & lawyer fees that they either cave in or close.
