How do you use the save files? I can't get them to work, I keep getting the traceback message.

If you're getting the shower scene, then you haven't started with chapter one. It's not required, but doing chapter one gets you the story up to the shower scene.

Jesus. I checked twice, and apparently I missed twice the small "ch1" spoiler tag in the OP. I thought ch2 contained ch1 also (it often does), no wonder it made no sense.

You need to complete everything that was added to the game before the christmas was added in order to activate the christmas event. Check the walkthrough on OP to see what you are missing.
