What does it mean that all chapters are stand alone? Does it mean any actions made in that chapter will not carry over?

You're right but also wrong. In this case it's confusing for two reasons, especially if you're in the boat I am. 1) Tags. Are the tags the same for all chapters or do they concern all 4 versions? 2) Confusion. For example, I've never played this game, and I am thinking of trying the game. Do I have to download only Chapter 1 because the developer fixed the problem with the video add-ons, or do I still need also download the video add ons?

I don't think they're necessary. There's no links for the video packs on the discord or patreon but there's links to each individual chapter download so I'd assume that they work without anything else like the video packs being necessary.

chapter 1,2 and 3 were the best but number 4 IS DIFFERENT is a VISUAL NOVEL and you can't choice any path you like to follow first.
