Yea I didn't like the character either. One of the main reasons I dropped the game. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for a character changing based on player choices if that is how the game is designed, but that was pretty much non existent early on. No matter what choices I picked, it was clear the dev was biased towards the "Duke Nukem" persona choices. So why even give the choice? Let the MC behave like he is supposed to and then down the line give meaningful choices that actually start molding the change.

Even the romance was weird. You be a macho man, you are an asshole. You try to be respectful, you don't like the girl. What in heck :WaitWhat:

It's very much a trope about the military man from his era. He puts Duke Nukem to shame at some points but from what I remember he eases up a bit, or can anyways, based on your choices. TBH it's actually pretty funny if you lean in to it for a playthrough.
I completely agree about it being funny. It's not the way I typically like to play. But here it just felt right. Was actually surprised I was able to later dig myself out of the hole with some of the LI's though. Since I went full asshole with no brakes for most of it and was deeply in the negatives.

Good guys finish last - actually simp guys get dropped in the AVN landscape, so only way to win anybody over is to not roll over to their unreasonable emasculating demans and stand up for yourself.

Only way to survive estrogen bomb going off in the world and entitled lezzies treating you like dirt is to give them no quarter and fight the good fight - not for nothing, there is a gritty legal drama, The good fight, where true grit is rewarded.

Yea then don't give meaningless choices? Like someone above implied- "the dude is man out of time, in a place where women rule". Makes no sense to give choices that make you look less masculine for no reason. Neither does it suit his personality, nor fits the narrative.

The only reason I have negative opinion about this game is the fallacy that is the illusion of choice. The dev could have just made it pretty simple and stuck to a kinetic novel approach starting off. Instead, he tricks the player into thinking that the world and its present circumstances actually are starting to have an affect on MC's thinking and he has the option to adapt into a different/diplomatic person. And perhaps he does... deeper into the story. But early on? Nope, definitely not. Made no sense to give player the impression that MC's personality is sculptable.
