Seems strange to not allow you to choose who is a futa or not. Guess someone really likes their futa.
i imagine the point would be to save on making multiple renders. in its current setup dev would have to do renders twice for each image the genitals are shown. if you start to mix and match, lets say 3 people for example then you'd have to do one render with all girls, 1 render all futa, 1 render 2 girls one futa, and one render 1 girl 2 futa and thats not even including changing the combo on whos a futa and whos not... and thats just one image.Alboe Interactive

Yeah its a 2 protagonist game, not a game with a single protagonist that can be male and female (or futa). You can choose for the female protagonist to be futa if thats preferable (not for me), but you play both protagonists and their respective view of events.
In futa porn its currently used in a more general sense: feminine look and breasts, but with a dick - both instead of and in addition to a vagina. Ingame characters (so far, its only one scene) are trans if you use the narrower definition of the word (with futa requiring both genitals).

Thats a bit like saying gay originally just means happy and calling homosexual men "gay" is a misuse of the word. If futa is commonly used in a certain way in porn and that's not in the orignal definintion, thats no misuse in my book. So while i'm aware of the original definition, i see no need to adhere to this narrow definition in this forums context. Might be different if i was using it that way in some gender study paper or activist forum. Anyway, so much for discussing linguistic change and contextual meaning on a porn board...^^
It's the classical misuse from a japanese term in the western culture then, AGAIN, because if someone would look the term futanari, short form is futa, up, then they would understand that futas have always both genitals, everything else are trans persons. There is no loose or narrow definition for the difference between futas and trans people.
It IS a misuse, like NTR is misused in this forum. It happens, yeah, but just because the ignorant western culture, and I'm part of the western culture, don't get me wrong, uses terms from foreign countries in different context doesn't make it right. That's why so many people in this forum ask, if the supposed futas are real futas or trans. It makes a hugh difference, especially for people looking for a specific type of content. Saying there is no difference because porn says so, is in my opinion at least, plain ignorant. Especially in times where we have to make sure to not offend people because of their gender choices. And I mean, using porn as a source of reference or as excuse is dumb, porn is dumb, look at the so called "I'm stuck under whatever furniture" videos.
