Yeah, I was about to reply to Gordon saying that I also had a bit of hard time figuring out that you could enter the monster pens.

Took quite a bit of tinkering around with the tiles until I was like: "Oh-ohhhhhhhh.. I could enter here, I had absolutely no idea XD"

But absolutely, there's always things that we learn throughout this life. That's what it's for really heh
Could be improved, I agree. That said, the tile descriptions always give you that information.

I got to say, I'm impressed. Finally, someone completes a Twine project that isn't stuffed with real porn gifs and stolen art assets. If you're looking for any assistance in regards to spriting or editing on your next game, hit me up.
By all means, I'd love to see some examples of spriting. DM me, here or on Discord?

The writing is very pleasant to read, well spend 5 eurobucks :)
The "Fantasize" option is a fantastic idea!

A few things I would like:
- As a button for the middle screen, A bigger overview map where the explored mini maps are stitched together. Deluxe if the known points of interest are pointed out. (Where was the door with the keypad again? Where was the breakroom? etc)
- The crafting menu is a bit messy from the text
Some colors which parts are OK and which are missing could help.
"Bio 2 (have 4), Tek 3 (have 1) "
"Bio (4/2)
Tek (1/3)"
- Consumeables could have their own menu point in combat, I kinda forget that I have them :LOL:

In Room "Product Testing A" after rescuing the Sneerz, the room description does not change and describes her still being bound to the chair.
Only if you leave the room and re-enter is the description updated.
Oop - thanks for the bug report! A little oversight, fixed now.

Thanks for the kind words! A bigger map is something that would be good to include. As for the crafting menu... I actually have implemented a system from coloured 'better' and 'worse' value comparisons for my Vehicle Module I'm working on. I could possibly implement that into the crafting and modding system too. I'll look into it. (These colours can also be changed in the accessibility menu - default is green and red, but either colour can be changed.)

As for consumables, I think those are fine as they are, but I'll keep an eye on any feedback in that area.

What a gift for this to be dropped 1.0, it's an instant text game classic. I love quality and cohesive story over kitchen sink word count or infinite customization with shallow effects. Such simple things are done right like victory unlocking defeat scenes or the random encounter rate being adjustable. 98% of devs would screech and throw rocks.

My only complaint is that with the side characters, you generally see all the H they'll ever have first and then get to know them better second, so there's zero horny motivation to read that dialogue. I think the better hentai logic would be learning all their character details in logs / videos / radio chats first, and then rescuing them from being tentacled as the culmination of their story.

I'll keep that in mind! A little tricky with the scope of the game. I do want to give them some more love at some point (which'd also give me the opportunity to test the effects of Major Updates on both storefronts and sites like this), but that won't be for a while (if it happens).

I'm afraid I'm not sure, I've never had need to use a third party save in a Twine game.

I'm glad you enjoyed it!

On the subject of art: I'm not an artist. I also do this as a hobby (for now). What I can do is write, and without art, I can write whatever I want. I don't have to worry about finding an artist who's willing to portray what I've written, I don't have to worry about it fitting in stylistically with other pieces of art, and if I get inspiration for a scene I'm not held back by 'can I afford and find an artist to do this, seeing as every other scene has art?'.

These are problems that I'd rather not deal with. As a final note, as said elsewhere in the topic... Art may have made MERCANOID better, but the one thing it wouldn't have made is a free game.

I've realised the same as an erotica writer who's dabbled in games. Writing (and planning) is much faster and simpler without art to worry about (sourcing, reviewing, amending... and paying, of course). If an artist wants to make it their passion project to provide an art pack, that's easy enough to add later. Fan art has often been fantastic.

Poser art is used a lot because it's relatively easy to implement, but it's not the same as custom scenes. It easily looks cheap and overused. For something as outlandish as MERCANOID, it would probably be a right pain to source the assets even, especially unmodified.

This is one of the best text games I've played and the heavy breeding and dubcon themes are right down my alley. Do you have any plans for another at this point?

I do! A big pile of things I want to make. I'm slowly starting up work on a new project, but I'm not 100% married to any ideas just yet, so I'm working on a new module for the framework MERCANOID was built on first.

Which, incidentally, I made to be as reusable as I could. Systems, templating, etc! I want MERCANOID to be a good example of what my future projects can/will be like - kind of a demo for 'me' in general.

Do you consider Mercanoid (framework development excluded) a smaller project or a bigger project? Also get well soon :)
