Compressd version
The dark version is under 200mb.

The regular version - check to see if OP has a link (it does). If it did not -- Make sure you have your Search results preferences set to "most recent" first. Then search the thread for the name of the game you are looking for and the version number with the word compressed. For example:
Midlife Crisis v0.33 compressed

There it is: https://f95zone.to/threads/midlife-crisis-v0-33-v0-1-dark-nefastus-games.20427/post-9840964

Nefastus interesting experiment this Dark MLC. While i do appreciate it, it's going to be pretty much just curio for me, that i wouldn't mind exploring after MLC is finished, since i can't see the lovable goofy MC being evil like that without good reason. Example towards those two shitheads that harassed Tracy.

Which reminded me of a question i've been meaning to ask for some time, will it be possible to have Tracy scene, where you get to fuck her while she wears a wedding dress and pledges to be your girl for rest of her life?

I personally didn't like him as a bumbling oaf and it seemed like he was becoming dumber each new update. I finally dropped it. Hopefully this makes it better.
I think an important distinction is he wasn't a bumbling oaf, but he played a bumbling oaf.

For someone who was a little bit antisocial like Amanda, his foolishness helped her come out of her shell and make friends at University.

For someone who was abused like Jennifer, the ability to have someone laugh at you without you getting angry is a fairly decent indicator that you are not an abuser. You cannot laugh at, or mock, an abuser as a general rule. That will trigger their anger and lead to abuse. Since MC was perfectly content to have people laugh at him and with him, it's one of the things that makes Jennifer feel safe around him.

Obviously this doesn't mean it has to be your cup of tea still, but I do think it's an important distinction.

I like this game even if it is a bit too wholesome for my taste.

The dark path tho.. that is really promising. It is indeed strange to see the goofball mc in this new setting but the writing was on point and the darkness was just right: not mindless rape but a balanced experience (carrot and stick indeed). The mc forced himself to the girls but not with the purpose of hurting them, unless they misbehave ofc.
Very well done

I see your point. But as is, the game wasn't for me, but only because of how the MC acted. Maybe this dark path version isn't for me either, as I don't like being an evil bastard. Hopefully it can make me change my mind about the normal version.

These "dark" stories are often meh, often unnecessarily brutal, but this one is a pretty good beggining, i like that he didn't intend to go that far, he just wanted some action with Sarah who kinda was into it most of the way, Christine went for her mom and that made things escalate.

So yeah, pretty solid first outing.

.33. Putting a pin in that though, development has run a little long so I am not doing the 10 day announcement thing.

As a side note, I mentioned a little writing experiment I did a while ago. Should be in a public post on my SS. It's a dark universe type thing, so don't expect the fun loving banter. Was practicing writing some darker content like non consent, just to get me out of my comfort zone as a writer. Not going to affect MLC development, but the few people who played it to give me feedback said I should release it. Very patreon unfriendly, so it will only be on SS. Those of you who try it and are into a darker style game would love some feedback.

Not sure if SS lets you see public posts without an account so I also made a twitter for patrons.
Basically just using it for MLC dark, but another way to get ahold of me if needed.
I liked it. Now, as a bit of disclosure I haven't played the default game in a while. Fell behind on updates and my saves didn't work when I did try to play again. This is actually kind of incentive to go back and restart a playthrough of that game, even if that will be nothing like the Dark version. That might have made it easier for me to play the Dark version than others who have played the regular version more recently. It also takes place in its own continuity, so I can kind of sandbox that off in my head.

I think the build was good for it. I'm not fond of games that have tons of story and then the actual sex scene is just a render or two and a few lines of text. This had some depth to it. There were a few typos I saw, but nothing big.

My personal tastes would have been for it to be a little less dark, but that's a matter of personal preference. Obviously there was room for things to be way darker. There's such a spectrum there that you'll never please everyone. And as someone who dabbles in writing porn-y stuff, I understand the need to change things up when you've been writing nice stuff for a while. At that point you just kind of have to relieve the mental pressure and create what you're inspired to do.

I just subbed on SS. I owe you for past fun from the regular game, but also I'm hoping you'll continue the Dark thing. The combination of non-consent and incest isn't done enough for my liking, so I'd like to encourage it and see where this alternate take goes.

Well I, for one, rather enjoyed it. Reminds me of the "through the mirror darkly" sort of episodes they had in every Star Trek series. Though it may not be the universe I would particularly prefer to "live" in, its an interesting view into an alternate dimension. And, it was well written, which is no surprise really.

I didn't realize how many pansies there were on this site that feel the need to share their opinion on why they DON'T like the dark path. Just feels like a bunch of people who dont jerk off to games would come here and say "ehh, not really my cup of tea jerking it to images, but okay I guess." So many scumbags on this earth now
People share their opinions in cases like this mostly because they do not want to see the main game get delayed due to the development of a dark path version they have little or no interest in before the main game is finished. They comment because there is a chance it will affect the development of a game they are invested in, that has been under development for a long time, and make that game take far longer to complete. It is an entirely reasonable thing to write a comment and explain your viewpoint. Now if people enter the comment-sections of a game that is currently the only one a developer is working on and do the same that is different, and probably a big waste of time for everyone involved. Calling people names for having a legitimate concern regarding a game they like is juvenile at best.
