I use an English translation of the text and then translate it back into my native language to make sure that the translation is as correct as possible

You are probably right that nobody played the game for the render quality. However, I would say that some of the models are pretty unique, which at least helped me start this despite the banner on this indeed not looking that inviting. But people here enjoyed the writing a lot, the humor that was already mentioned, but since you're talking about sex scenes as well, they are way better than most of the stuff you will find on here, not always resorting to the same clichés, having a decent flow. Even though spelling and grammar also are terrible at times.
This game has tons of flaws, not least that it is abandoned, but also others, and nobody will deny that. But it does have a unique high quality writing. If you're not as interested in that as in graphics (or application of kinks), or if you don't connect with the writing in the first place, I can easily see your resentment.

Might be difficult to do for the dev, seeing as communication here ended abruptly nearly 15 months ago, no activity in over a year, and the dev has not been seen online anywhere since January.
If you read between the lines, you may see why your suggestion may never come to fruition.

I hope the Dev is alright.
Sad that there's no sign of the dev, this one is definitely one of my favourites. Also i doubt any new dev could really do any justice for the story or characters. Not unless they were already really involved with the writing and had extensive notes from the OG dev. That's how it always goes when someone new tries to continue story that was left unfinished.

Even if they did have access, i doubt any new dev could keep up with the story and character development like OG dev could.

Unfortunately.
But I would like to see at least someone try, maybe a group team to have a better collection of ideas and such.
But I think it's extremely rare for this to happen

Sure there's a few mods that got bigger than the source material.
They usually start by being faithful to the source, but eventually they become their own thing.

I actually liked that the wife wasn't drop-dead gorgeous. Because neither was MC. It made the game more believable, it also made it obvious that they really liked each other, which was part of the charm of the game.While wifey was not the prettiest, the story/character development for her were absolutely brilliant. I can't think of a single example where someone "took over" a game's production and it did well... I know there are a lot of "fan-games" based on popular games (hell I think there are 3 just for Big-Brother), but I wouldn't say they are great.
Personally, I don't want to see any continuation of Midlife Crisis, unless done by Nefastus himself. Nefastus' brand of humor, and storytelling was unique.
If anything, I am sure someone will make a "spiritual successor", but continuing what Nefastus left behind would be an impossibility on so many levels.
