It's all just rumors. No one knows what happened to him. (But he did mention that he had medical issues a while ago).
On one hand, that's the most likely thing that has happened based on literal reading of his earlier posts. So it's a reasonable guess... He may be dead or incapacitated.
On the other hand, however, he made the perfect setup for a disappearance. Assuming it's all a sham: Fail to deliver and disappear for months on end in the past, get people to believe that he has health issues. Nobody will question a sudden disappearance and after months, they will all eventually resign to the probable fact that he passed away.
So there's the looming possibility that he gave up on the game. His last message was that he could have sworn he uploaded an update.
In the past, his disappearance didn't lead to immediate loss of patrons, so he would have known his Patreon income was safe for at least a few months. 2 years and 7 months after the last game update and 2 years and 4 months since his last post, he still has 135 paying patrons on Patreon and who knows how many on Subscribestar.
He could have assumed a different identity and could be working on a different game. He could just get on with his life.
Remember that when Palmer died, his collaborators wanted to continue working on their games (they had all the assets and shared access to the account) and they notified Patreon of Palmer's passing and asked if they can continue using the same account, even if all patrons were automatically unsubscribed and would have to re-subscribe. Patreon didn't even enter into discussions but immediately disabled and erased the account.
So there are four possibilites:
- Nefastus is dead, his family notified Patreon, but for some reason they made an exception and haven't locked his account.
- Nefastus is dead, but his family has no idea of his Patreon side income which is collecting in some account unavailable to them.
- Nefastus is dead, his family is aware of the Patreon account, is taking the money and is lying that Nefastus isn't dead.
- Nefastus is dead, but he formally bequeathed the account in his will, maybe even did it before passing, so the account can't be legally locked by Patreon.
- Nefastus isn't dead, he confirmed it many times with Patreon, he's just inactive, but that in and of itself is not grounds for suspending, locking, disabling or erasing an account.
In either case, the only potentially positive outcome is that Nefastus is alive, is making updates in the background, and will make a sudden return, upload the belated update, then another one in quick succession and then continue his usual trimonthly cadence. But I wouldn't hold my breath.

In my eyes it comes down to 4 options:
He or someone with the original files work on the project or not.
He is alive or not.
Whatever is the case we don't know until we see it and I doubt we will. But, do we something new after post #13 182 or are we just going around in big circle since then? Just a rhetorical question.

Having expended MASSIVE resources investigating the situation (I took a nap and had a silly thought), it has been PROVEN that Nefastus was ABDUCTED by ALIENS who needed help changing a lightbulb. At this time there is LITTLE information of the lightbulbs location, or the time required for its replacement. We hope that the trip to an alien planet SIX Galaxies away will be brief, but as walking is the fastest method of travel available, we cannot give an accurate estimated time for return. Honestly, I hope that Nef is OK. Yes, it sucks that we may not see a conclusion to this AWESOME story. What we have is great and I'm grateful for the opportunity to play it. I will continue to watch for an update (other Devs have reappeared after LONG breaks), and hope that Nef is doing well.

While Chocolate Chip cookies (the SUPERIOR cookies) are not mentioned DIRECTLY I thought people would understand that Nef only agreed to this 'JOURNEY' (Don't Stop Believin') for the promise of THREE Chocolate Chip Cookies.
I will (FAITHFULLY) continue my Research (naps and silly ideas) and (ENDLESSLY) hope for the return of Nefastus. Even though we are currently going our 'SEPERATE WAYS (Worlds Apart)' I hope for the best.

Welp, not for Patreon fraud, there's no such crime. But if he was indeed a fraudster, he was a good one. The story was fun and engaging, and even though it wasn't really believable, it was really good. Considering the references and the overall feel of the story, it's obvious he was middle-aged, which makes his health issues much more believable.
Buuut, that has zero bearing on whether or not he is a fraudster and whether or not he's in jail (for whatever reason, not necessarily fraud).

If I chose to pursue Tracy, won't I get content with Erica anymore? Can't I get both? Does it get decided in this scene right here?
Chose Erica here on my 2nd attempt to see if anything changes, I get her scene thinking I'll get another one when I can hang out with a side girl but I still get a scene with Tracy during that weekend outing(Initial date with Amanda) but the dialogue is mostly the same indicating as if I already got the previous scene with her where we pop her anal cherry. Did I mess up from the beginning by allowing trans content in the first place? I still want to pursue Tracy but also want Erica.

Yes, I figured that along the way but you didn't really get my point. I was specifically talking about the scenes with Tracy during the period of meeting that swinger couple and the date with Amanda in the other house, i.e. the ones after that screenshot i posted. He automatically calls Tracy twice. My question is, are there any scenes with Erica replacing Tracy in those exact scenes or was it you either hang out with Tracy or not at all depending if you enabled trans content?

I DID understand what you asked. But you are overthinking things. You can literally save the game and do both scenes. I didn't know why you are making something easy into something difficult.
Choosing either locks out no later content.

That's what I already did. If you actually read through what I wrote in my first comment you'll see I played the two scenes from the screenshots. I'm asking about the scene that comes after the screenshot. He texts Tracy automatically without considering to call Erica, even after I chose Erica in the scene from the previous screenshot. My question is, if you still didn't get my point, should there have been a scene with Erica replacing this one with Tracy and is it dependent on having trans content on and or not. And yes, I am overthinking it but I guess I'm not harming anyone by asking stuff like this, am I?
