Mac users don't have to wait ever, you can play the Win/Linux version directly from the SDK, or you can build a Mac version from the SDK as well, building it takes a minute or two on an SSD.
Joiplay probably doesn't support v8.2.3 yet, looks like it only goes to v8.1.3.

Did you check Joiplay to see if it supports Ren'Py v8.2.3, if it doesn't then no it's not going to work.
Is there a hero who is making android port for 0.25 ?
