1/ What version of MP do you use? (ie where did you download it? If here, which link did you use?)
2/ Do you see this file images/EP1/prologue apartment 10.jpg in your game folder?

a) If so, can you post it?​

b) If not, I guess you have a images.rpa in your game folder. Can you give me its size?​

I have to run out to do an errand. But in meantime I can say that I had installed the 60fps animation mod which required me to unpack .rpa files. I don't know if that had to do with anything. going to delete and reinstall without the 60fps animation mod to see if that fixes it. When I get back I will post info to your questions. I downloaded the original game from gofile I believe.

Addressing the basics:

I used UnRen 1.0.10b on the RPA files, and the game still runs fine past the image noted in your log. It doesn't do such a good job on the RPYC files though, but you didn't appear to do that because the error is different.

Not sure what unpacker you used, but if it's not UnRen, it might not be up-to-date for RenPy 8, and diddled with the image files.

I don't see a reason why the mod could be a problem. I guess it just replaces video files. But I wonder why you'd need to unpack .rpa files for that

I believe you mean "sound effects" because voiceover is a whole of other can of worms.

On that topic I hope the game never gets voiceover.
It's usually very hard to find a fitting voice, especially one that pleases everyone.
Happend for me at another game where I really liked a special character but the the voice-actress had (in my mind) a fat-chick voice and that totally was a turnoff for me.
Luckily the Dev heard my suggestion to add an entry in options to disable all/individual voiceovers.

Walkthrough / Cheat Mods (NO FULL WORKING 0.17 YET)​

I'm working on 0.17!

Since Lain is still MIA, I decided to give this game my Walkthrough / Cheat Mod treatment based off of her original mod.
I have revamped some of her mod work and updated other parts of her mod.
Note: This includes the patch.rpyc that activates Incest Mode. If you do not want the Incest Mode then you will need to delete that file.

A big thanks to Bibifoc for helping me maintain this mod.

Directions:
Extract in the same folder where MidnightParadise.exe is located, overwrite files if asked.
If you came from Lain's Mod from 0.14 or earlier then it is highly recommended to Start a New Game to ensure no issues.
When you Start a New Game, select Yes when it asks you if this is your first time playing the game.

It was kinda sad that it took this long for the 0.17 update but I get why, but holy shit the 0.17 scenes between the MC and Ruby at the night club when you choose to punish her, then back at the apartment when they are alone together if you are on the Submission Route were some of the hottest scenes I've seen in any of these games.
