I don't know how to say it properly in english, but i see it this way: sandbox-type games can give players more freedom in their choices and how to spend a day in a game, but till certain moment of development players are strictly limited in their choices because dev can't add content to all routes and locations in short time. That is why games like DoD look more "smooth" in way of plot development. They are more linear despite there are some choices in those games.Just the way story is beign told through episode model seems more meaningful. Plus cohesive story, that also "kinda" makes sense in a way that 'a' thing happened and caused 'b'. Visually MP is obviously superior, but in other aspects DoD has an upper hand. I would surely like to see how MP would look like if this was an episode model, like in his previous title. Sandbox is just artificially extending chronology imo.
