I mean, it's not your place or anyone else's to decide what he does with the funds generated for this game. If he doesn't want to add more help, or more render machines for the game then that's his choice. I don't know who all is working on the project or what kind of hardware he has, and nor do I care. His finances and what he does with the money he makes is none of my business. The only thing that is my business as a patron is that he is working on the game and delivering content.
When did i ever say that it is my decision what he does with his funds, i just gave my opinion... which you have a hard time accepting. Also, if you are his patron, imo you should definitely care about what he does with his money. and if you don't you're part of the issue in this small industry.
For example (metaphorically speaking) if you know for a fact that he is making enough to have a stable life and buy some material stuff (ie supercar/expensive clothes or whatever) for himself, but also has extra money he could use to invest in order to speed up and increase quality in his development, then why wouldn't you want him to use it for that. I just think that as a developer, especially on patreon you would have some sort of self respect and self obligation to your projects and supporters.
If you really wanna support someone like that, go ahead. but i dislike people like that extremely, it's a selfish attitude/mentality (again! imo)
There's really not that big of a difference between the quality between this and CoBD. If there is it's obviously not enough to matter to people because Lewdlab has way more patrons than Philly does. There's also a thing called talent, and maybe Philly is just more skilled in areas or has better help than Lewblab does. I really don't care if these people are trying to one-up each other or not. I play games that I enjoy, and whether one has better "production values" than another really has little affect on my enjoyment of the game. Story and Characters matter far more to me than the quality of an animated scene, or even if something is animated at all.
I bet you the actual reason lewdlab has much more patrons than philly, is because of the incest concept. Incest is the most popular and liked genre in these kind of games (Adult 3dcg visual novels). and for a reason! it's my favorite as well. but unlike you, i can still look at other games without a biased outlook and appreciate them for what they are. if you choose to only look at things you currently like, you would miss on a lot of new experiences my friend.
And of course you should play games that you enjoy, but again that was not the point i made at all, you just seem to ignore/misinterpret a lot of what i said.
I mean, sometimes things change. I don't think he mean't that 40% of the entire game would be done after one update. Did anyone really think that? I read that more as 40% of the foundation or ground work of the game is done, and not total content.
I sure did, search the word "whole" in the dictionary , it's the same thing as "entire". And if he did mean the foundation, he should have been way more specific.
Lewdlab has disappointed more than ICSTOR??? Lol, you be trolling now me thinks. I don't want to knock ICSTOR too much because his stuff is still extremely good for what I like, but he's the king of disappointment and semi-abandoned half ass finished projects.
Compared to how long ICSTOR and lewdlab have existed, yes i do think that lewdlab has disappointed more. ICSTOR didn't use to be like he is today, he only started going downhill since last year or two years ago (can't remember anymore lol).
but before that he has provided me with a lot of content that i enjoyed, also his games were kind of an introduction for me (and for many others probably) to this whole forum and community of such games.
Sure he has abandoned like 3 games, but at least those games had content in them, and every update was worthwhile (mostly).
There is adult content in this adult game, and a good amount of it. It's just not the type of adult content you want.
If you're talking about the conversations or some of the stuff the characters are going through, then that is not what i meant at all... i don't even know why you would think that on such a site.
He's said there will be no shortage of sex scenes when the story is ready for it. Best you can do if it doesn't suit you right now is just wait until it's finished or check back in six months. It's his story, and I'm sure he's aware of the criticisms. I'd bet the game will turn the corner he soon enough (next month or two), and we'll start seeing the content some of you are so anxiously waiting for.
I already said that the game will probably be a lot better when it's done/a few more updates, but you just chose to ignore it...
Still plenty of fap material to be found on this site, right? So if Midnight Paradise ain't doing it for ya right now, why not fire up something else instead? Honestly, i already played every game here that i'm interested in, replayed some a few times, but tired of it now... i've seen almost everything there is to see.
