And I still think that the developer has no idea what he's doing.
He decided to abandon the linear narrative, with an interesting (relevant) to the genre plot at the time, with regular updates, and do something... "big".

As a result: wrong engine, broken gameplay, "wildly exciting" walking around the locations in search of a trigger, for which a bunch of updates are sometimes released to fix.
A wildly protracted development, a complete loss of interest on the part of the audience, aggravated by the constant violation of their words and plans. What remains? Milking.

I vote for simple games with simple graphics, telling a story, and regular gameplay. And not this here.

Correct.

What kind of a dev hires a completely new writer to do the writing for the game at the very middle of it? The kind of a dev who has absolutely no fucking clue what he is doing with the game or its story. The new writer will bring their own touch to the story and characters, which will obviously affect the vibe of the whole game. It sure is going to be nice to play through the game with mixture of Dr. Sin's nonsense writing and the stuff from the new writer until reaching the point where the new writer takes over completely. Going to be wild to see the personality disorders that the girls are going to now have during the game. Once it finally gets an update, that is.

I think they were referring to the time when Lewdlab initially tried to make this with Unity but then couldn't hack it so he had to change back to RenPy which took some time.
ah, didn't know that. unity isn't bad except when something goes wrong it's restart time and no autosaves.

yeah, unity is actualy a great engine, the problem is knowing wtf you are doing in it, and ofc, does it make sense to use it for a vn ?
the truth is that like it or not it takes a little bit more work in unity than in renpy (and trust me you do not need to be a coder/moder to know this, it takes a little extra more polish) ESPECIALY if you don't know very well what you are doing, so that whole event took over 12 months for something that prty much EVERYONE told him at the start, " your previews project was in renpy, both you and your team are more confortable in it, there is no reason to ruin the team's mojo, your game is not an rpg where you have items, multiple shops, cloths/armor/etc., no combat system, no health system, no player base with upgrades, no perk/skill system, there is noooo need to use unity witch can be fantastic for what i just said " but ofc he moved to it and we got the usuals "fuck off guys,it is his games and stop being so intiteled and ungreatful, you are all pirates anyway" you know... the usual... where if you disagree or point out a mistake you are by default in the wrong because you go against the dev, witch is horseshit since everyone can make mistakes, sometimes the devs sometimes the critics, but the important thing is to discuse them, that's why i like this forum
my thoghts on the engines has always been the same, witch one are you good at? that's always the best one, because it does not matter as long as you are good at it you have a better chance of puling it off if something goes wrong, because there are always gone be some problems that is INEVITABLE, but you limit your chances of fixing it if you are in an engine that you are not confortabile in, and some engines are easyer to learn than others that is also a fact, but what about good renders? well even the good ol' RPGM has shown us that it can pull absolutly fantastic renders noooo problem

lots a dev actually do this, in mainstream game development. its not a common occurrence for porn games because they are usually a shoe string budget. not to mention most dev dont know what they are doing, most successful ones get lucky get a large fan base then dont know what to do so if they can afford to hire a "professional" writer it seems like a good idea. that being said i do agree that its not helping and probably making things worse at this point.

Sometimes later the writer is gonna say that they need to rewrite the game from beginning and the cycle continues.

Why do most incest games get abandoned, crappy, or have long periods between updates/milking/remakes? Most quality games that are regularly updated don't have incest. Are devs just using incest to get a quick buck? Top tear devs that are consistent and have already completed(proper completion) games don't seem to like incest.

As a fan of incest-based stories, it's disheartening to see this trend. Almost all the games I follow are on-hold or being milked if not abandoned already :cry:

Because in incest there is the great figure of "The Mother" or "The daughter" ,when the MC is a father, who always become the most antecipated characters to be fucked. So of course in this scenarios, the devs won't waste their "golden ticket" and will prefer drag the story to milk money as much as possible.
