Incestuous content is banned on most platforms. These games are not for sale, but are only supported by Patreon subscriptions. A few years ago, Patreon's rules were also changed to ban outright incestuous content, forcing many developers to change their games in order to continue publishing, and some to give up altogether.

That's not what I'm talking about, I'm well aware of the Patreon issue regarding incest, but it didn't stop incest nor increase or decrease the quality of incest games. Most of these games always lacked quality, even before the Patreon issue. Maybe it slowed down the development time since they have to make I-patches, but I doubt that takes a lot of time.

Incest is a hard Concept to write a Good story about, and since it's not very frequent not many devs can rely on their own experiences. Most Good devs avoid it, because confronting the whole taboo element can be difficult especially when you want to have a self-insert character, and devs who often approach it really don't think too much about the authenticity of the story, hence writing something crappy. For example EvaKiss had Incest in her first game, but with her second one that she wanted to be more grounded she totally ditched the concept.

It's not impossible, but devs with good writing skills often just don't really want to go through the hassle.

I would said a good incest story is abt the built up~ especially the inner struggles of the mother(sister) figure to recognize that it is not just motherly(sisterly) love she had for the son(brother) but a woman's love & lust as well~ this is the hard part to maneuver~ most dev over drag this suppose built up part and lost direction or interest in the project~

It is also hard for incest story to prolong after breaking the taboo barrier~ once the sex happen there is not much plot beside having sex scene over and over again~ this will greatly depends on the creativity of the dev to come up with different scene to keep the game interesting~

Dev trying to take up incest story should read up more on Incest hentai manga/manhwa for ideas~

I now understand why the game seems to change scene to scene. There is no cohesion in the script as there is not one.
