Not criticizing the name of the path, it accurately covers the sub routes and does not imply vanilla in and of itself. I also don't find the expectation by experieced AVN players that the whole path would feel as artificial as a modded veggie burger because it's a sharing free path in what until now we've experienced only as an NTS/NTR game unreasonable.

The divide betweeen those expectations and the reality of how satisfactorily twisted the path is just something to behold: the term's blandness to my palate compared to the yummy suprise inside is kinda funny and I find how our collective perception of something works interesting (less sad to observe here since IRL it's often tragic). Mostly I'm just fucking happy with how hot these updates are, cause fuuuuck if I ain't as into this now as I was into my favourite parts of the NTR route!

Hmm. My comment was meant to be genuinely on the nose. I have come to the general conclusion that those seeking NTR to this level of exclusion, fall into one of two groups.

1- Have a very skewed view of reality and are seeking content that reflects that skewed view of reality. - You can usually see this expressed in no uncertain terms by some commenters. Such that even other enjoyers of the same content will try to inform them otherwise.

Wait you've been here longer than I have so I'm confused, are you saying the term means more or less being cheated on from MC perspective regardless of gender or that it should mean that?

I learned the hentai terminology on f95 and at first thought that's what ntr means, actually first it's just hentai for cuckold and that you can use it for any exposed cheating content (so everything from western cuckolding, NTR and NTS) irrespective of MC perspective and their gender. Edit (ya'll talking while I'm writing): as to the report you're citing on the formal japanese meaning, the actual usage I've seen here guessing likely over 1000 times it is actually unequivocal that NTR/NTS are gender-specific terms refering to the man's perspective.

If I can venture a semantic sketch, in a path described as NTR or NTS, if MC is male, he is not the bull; if it's a FMC then either she cheats on spouse/BF with his knowing at some point (rarely some label secret cheating as NTR and they often get corrected), or the FMC teases a male or let's him watch (if impression/memory is correct, should be a simp but it's not necessarily humiliating).

It is interesting, and comes up here and there, often indirectly, how the female perspectives should be termed. Cuckquean is the only female-focused term near enough to the genre, though it doesn't have to be FMC or F perspective. It's more about the dynamic, and even such is underused; there's a whole bunch of images of harem-games occurring to me that feature cuckquean scenarios without the term mentioned even in the thread. NTR is more being cheated on because the main character is dealing with emotional blow of infidelity rather than doing the cheating regardless of gender. That's why in male protagonist games, female characters(gf/wives) are cheating on MMC and they are being stolen at the end by a rival of MMC and a main villain(ugly bastards). When a male protagonist is doing the cheating it isn't considered as NTR. How can Mila doing the cheating and her husband being stolen at the end in one route both be NTR?

Just wanted to add that playing as a cuckquean is such a rarity, I really am so thankful to this game for putting a spotlight on this kink. My hope is that this could evolve into an actual poly throuple, where all three love each other equally and faithfully. That’s another thing that’s very rare in these games.
