The steam version lacks 1 NTR animation. That's the whole difference.
I always find it pretty off-putting and arrogant behaviour (and in the best possible scenario still super ignorant) when both Players but also Devs alike try to push or enforce what's vital and what not, just to dismiss fair critique of people or to cope. And try to dismiss that by downplay what actual being cutted, censored or changed. "It's just a little fabric" -> yes but details can matter and change the way a costume look and altering that can kill someones favorite costume. "It's just a minor change in the translation" -> Yes, but can have an high impact how the character is percieved because shifting how stuff is phrased / worded, even with a few single words, can change the whole personality, intention or outcome.
"Steam version just lacks 1 NTR Animations that's the whole difference"... -> yes, but exactly this Animation is the only existing NTR Animation in the Game and you took it away from people who might've enjoyed for a crowd which easily could've ignored the Scene. It's not like you've build a full-blown NTR Game where you have 100 Scenes and than cut one scenes because it was bad and would need a rework or so.
Not to mention that even if this stuff would be so minor as people like you try to portray... it always starts in small steps. And especially as a Porn-Game Developer you should be aware of that, that this part leads to a dark place. Now you just censor the NTR Stuff, but next time because people have an outcry you've to cut another Kink to potentially please people who are bothered by some other kink you might've put effort in and was in your vision. I really split on this if i really want / hope that you will also experience one day a sort of censorship or cut stuff for a game which matters TO YOU, so you might realize something, or not because i generally don't like that kind of situation where stuff gets cutted and censored. But if it comes down to Censorship or that type of cut content, Devs 'never' should give an inch - the only exception here would be if the censorship is 'optional'. And the same goes for people who defend this sh't of behaviour or even celebrate it... don't get blinded for you hate for this kink and you can't handle it... because if you find 'censorship' or 'cut-content' at that level okay and support that, don't cry later on if it happens to stuff you are into. You support this behaviour as long as it is in your comfort-zone, but aren't smart enough (potentially because topic emotional-loaded) to think ahead how this stuff can go bad for you as well. And than you don't have a justified defense for this because you war part of the people who ecnourage devs doing this stunts...
AND two last points: Yes i'm aware that in development games tend to get stuff cutted, and about the 'vision' above you could now claim or argue (which in terms of censorship always feels dishonest tho) "Yeah but that's my Vision"... and while i was always a support of that, that whole "it's my vision" get's out of the window if sell or let people play something, where you than take away something away later on. It just can't be that people - especially if you consider on what website we're on, that you punish people who wanted to support you because they obviously will already have played the previous versions here basically for free, but appreciated the work enough to still financially support you on Steam, by just cutting content off. And it doesn't matter what else you provide there, you still have taken away stuff, even if it's only (in your words) "one NTR scene"....
I'm proud of the work I've done.
I hope that after playing the latest version of the game you will see this for yourself. I'm sure you'll have a great time.
Well, to be honest, from an Outsider Perspective sentences like this come off dishonest and coping at max (or you just want to sell that sh't to people so they buy your game) because i'd argue from my perspective, 'proud devs' wouldn't feel the neccessity to cut content they put work and effort in and screw part of their community over. Again - you might believe it or not, and doesn't matter how minor you try to portray it... but this was one of my favorite scenes and you just can't replace it with "yeah i've added other content" because there isn't other NTR content.
So no i'm sorry... you can keep your latest steam version and won't see any money from me which i would've spended on(which i always appreciate when devs putting them on steam - like that much better than the whole patroen sh't), because you basically cut one of my most favorite scenes in this game. Like just imagine to give you an different perspective / ankle: If you get Super Smash Bros just to play with Link, it doesn't help if you have a roster of 99 other characters, when exactly link is cutted from the game. Then nintendo took pretty much one of the main reasons away to get the game...
(/Edit: And by the way i'm thankfull that i checked this thread before wasting money on it to see what the fuss in the reviews was about).
The game has been fixed. Added erotic cards. People love to exaggerate and escalate everything.
Ah yes "people like to exaggerate and escalate things" - just because they don't like censorship/cut-content like this? Not the people you tried to avoid by giving in and cut said content. Again i really want you to tell me straight in the face, if you're a NTR Connoisseur... what you actually offer to these people as a replacement? Maybe in a very twisted way that you pretty much cucked part of your audience out of content they expected when they decided throw money at you on steam.
And again - as pointed out above and my PoV that comes off really arrogant. You stand above about your audience/players which criticsize you for a decision you made, and now you have to downplay it as exaggeration or escalation...
And honestly (and i'm pretty sure you don't care about considering the way you handle it) this situation and that approach really don't want me to consider support (or even caring) about any of your Games from future on anymore. Like even if you would reflect on this behaviour and reconsider the decision, it's really hard to trust a dev which does have the audacity and no shame to cut content just for the sake of it and then lash back at people or downplay it?
What does guarantee me that for another potential Game in the future you don't pull the same stunt again - first giving people some fetishes and content - just to cut it later when you sell it on steam and people willingly throw money at you? What does tell me in any of your behaviour that you wouldn't even go as far and abuse that kind of situation and even do switch & bait next time... because from your perspective for all the proud work you put in it's just a few scenes which you cut...
I mean if you really give the content back... and get the feeling you did a bit reflect on this i'm still willing to get the game on steam... since i want to support it when people keep their stuff uncut/uncensored... but i certainly would be cautious of any further projects of you based on this...
Now who's being a crybaby?
I'd argue it's still others (assuming you as well considering your attitude about the reaction to this), because the key difference to before and now is -> People before could've simply ignored the optional NTR Content... there is not any content taken away from them... but for people who enjoyed the scene this content is now taken away. So i argue the is a huge difference where it's justified to cry about.
Except nobody is exaggerating anything. Look, I don't like dev bashing, I always find it childish and useless but here you totally deserve those negative reviews. You can't just cut content out from the game because of a vocal insecure minority (that scene was already optional), publish it as being a different version (Steam) and be surprised about the reviews when people find about it.
So to get that content back, I need to get the game elsewhere but by doing so, I'm missing out on the "exclusive" content from Steam. (Btw, doing different "exclusive" content for different storefronts is kinda scummy...).
I respect the work you've done, I was interested in buying in the first place but I can't support censorship. Hopefully you'll consider adding the cut content back in with a free DLC and make a COMPLETE Steam edition (seriously... get rid of that "exclusive" bs).
Agree so much on this. Well worded.
