long story short , i get that people are supporting him and they expect him to deliver update , he is working for 8 months for this update ( he made one release for christmas and took vacation , so he is working like 4 months on it now )
Supporting Icstor on Patreon is fine and so is defending him and the people who do so, but when you use hyperbole it weakens your arguments and muddies the disscusion.

Icstor has been working on the update all year except for April and 2/3 of May. That is seven months now.

While he did say he had personal issues in January, the update was supposedly 30% done at the end of January and 60% done at the end of February so by his own word he has been working on it and made significant progress during that time.
Now his latest post in August said he doubled the number of renders since the last update which at that point was 3 weeks ago (source: https://f95zone.to/threads/milfy-city-v0-5c-icstor.8012/page-1239#post-2333990
https://f95zone.to/threads/milfy-city-v0-5c-icstor.8012/page-1169#post-2243844).

So he doubled the number of renders in 3 weeks on an update that was already 60% done 6 months ago??

I am aware that he added the neighbors at a later point but unless he increased the overall size of the update significantly I find it hard not to think he was bullshiting in at least some of these progress updates.

dude an update after a year? you have any idea how much money he made in this time? while being "sick"? as i said like the family secret game developer but smarter
I said so many things that make Icstor a reliable creator (which one of the best indie adult game dev) you just obsessed about money, I suggest you search gumdrop to see a real scammer

I'm not obsessed about "money" I lost 150$ in pledges from ICSTOR patreon so don't come to me with accusations 1 Year is enough to make a Tripple A game in my eyes the mofo is a scammer

Yeah, but you will have to crunch through the final three months. Either that, or you have three teams working on one series who take turns (Call of Duty) or you do minor engine updates with a new, recent roster (EA Sports / 4K Sports). I'd like to refer you to Jason Schreier's Kotaku articles on how healthy that is.

About the one year: Duke Nukem Forever (15 years), Diablo 3 (11 years), Prey (11 years), Team Fortress 2 (9 years), Spore (8 years), LA Noire (7 years)

But I digress, and want to say that I don't see the problem. The game is in testing now, the update will come out soon and I'm pretty sure that most people here "lost" zero dimes as they aren't patrons.

A year?? Most AAA games take a fair bit longer than a year, the witcher 3 took over 3 years to develop, some games can take far longer ~5-8 years or more.

Wut?

Firstly AAA studios have hundreds of employee's all working on different aspects of the game as well as millions in budget. Comparing a AAA studio to an indie dev is ridiculous.

Secondly the only AAA games you'll see taking a year are those crappy cash grabs like Call of Duty or those half arsed sports games they shit out every year for mugs to buy. Most AAA games take hundreds of developers, millions of dollars and years in development.

Scammer or not you are so far off the mark with that comparison it's hilarious.

There is so much shitposting on this thread about Icstor, the game or the characters in it that I, a very high tiered patron, will absolutely NOT share the game here when it comes out. And I recommend that no other high tier patrons do so. None of us Dev or Patron get enough appreciation on this thread so you the haters (who will grab the freebie and start fapping the moment it’s posted here) can go cork yourself. My apologies to the fans and patrons like myself.

Well i don't wanna start a war (even if it already started), but the testing sure takes a while

Testing can be quite an annoying topic. Someone finds a bug, you go in and fix it. This causes something else to break. Each time you do it you can start the whole thing over. If they touch anything that is used in old parts of the game (like possibly some of the minigames) you have to start the game from the beginning to see if everything works correctly now. Then you'd better make sure it works both when starting from an old save and when starting from the beginning.

We're quite lucky that most pr0n games only handle a few branches and variables instead of messing around with the engine itself or extending it to a large degree. This keeps testing effort down compared to what you would expect from regular software projects. Still lots of issues slip through because many devs only test things according to their walkthrough and stuff goes tits up if you stray from that path.

Anyway - a week of testing on something that took several months to develop doesn't necessarily raise the alarm bells for me.

It might of course be easier to do the testing in parallel with rendering with placeholder images but as far as I remember the dialog often only gets written once the pictures are done and there is no upfront storyboarding taking place.

read this and learn how is how programming work (Thanks Myself101 for the detailed explanation )you fix something and you can break something else then you need to retest all over again , and its nothing out of normal if the update is so much bigger , and still bugs can exist also it depends on how many testers are testing this

Honestly, people behave like a bunch of horny teenagers. The last update came out almost a year ago. I don't understand why ppl still care. Personally I don't even remember what was in the last update and there are plenty of other games around.
If it comes out, it will come out - if it doesn't, well too bad. It's just a game. You can fap to gazillion of other games on this website, erotic novels or other content elsewhere. And you complain that Icstor is popular and that he still has patrons despite a delay - well, guess what, you keep him popular with your shitposting by keeping the game in trending.
You don't make someone feel bad by keeping him relevant, you make him feel bad by forgetting.

Man, I sure love being punished for other people's actions, about which I can do nothing.
