Has there been any sort of mention by the devs that they intend to include 18+ content? And I am genuinely asking. I've been following the game for a while hoping for it, and haven't seen any. There's tons of discussion threads asking about it, and everyone's either bashing the game as a scam or remaining hopeful in the absence of evidence, like you. Seems like the devs are content to just sit on the namesake and churn out low-effort paid DLCs.

Don't speak for everyone - it's a bad habit. You can't know what other players know or don't know. You originally asked for a source from which I got the information that there is no sex in the game and that there are no plans to introduce sex in the game, then I gave you that source (the official Steam forum where players communicate) and where there are several threads dedicated to the issue, including a thread where the player talks about his interaction with a game's localiser, collaborating with developer of the Mirror2.
After that you wrote the following (to another user)

Same reason why every visual novel that most of the VN consumer base gives even a single fuck about has porn in it or a patch for it somewhere, but if they try to put the VN somewhere where the rules don't play as nicely for them (like Steam, for example), they're forced to pretend like they would never even think about doing such a thing with their product.
After skimming through the thread, I think I would say that expecting porn of some kind for this game at some point wouldn't be too farfetched considering the character models that were datamined (unless if those were pranks) and that Mirror 1 had sex in it apparently (I never played it), but at the same time it's really all just speculation since afaik the devs have not said anything definitive for Mirror 2.
My understanding is that the devs are Chinese or something, and I know for a fact that they are pretty heavy with censorship of adult content in games over there. Call me optimistic but it sounds pretty plausible to me.

There is no point in doing this. There are many R18 games in Steam. And, if they wanted to, they could share the R18 content elsewhere outside steam as an 'independent modding team'. There are many ways to appease regulators that doesn't include shooting yourself in the foot by not advertising your product properly.

Steam isn't the only institution they have to deal with. Again, the devs are [afaik] Chinese, and the Chinese government loves its share of strict rules. Many platforms already segregate Chinese and non-Chinese users because of extra rules they have to deal with just to be able to operate in China. I'd be more surprised if there weren't rules that incentivized or forced them to need to pull this bullshit.
Regardless, I'm not here to justify if what the devs are doing is the best course of action. I'm here to say why they're in a position to decide how to handle their porn to begin with.

I'm not trying to say HOW they should do it. I'm just saying they WON'T do it. Every argument I gave you is not an attempt to convince them to change how they handle their game. My arguments are just the reasons why I know there won't be any R18 content.

Well, I'm saying they have a reason to act like there won't be R18 for a reason other than not actually planning to make any. My overall point is that expecting R18 at some point is completely reasonable (i.e., they WILL do it, probably), even if the devs haven't said anything definitive yet. I (and others, it seems) believe that the lack of R18 at present is not because they're not planning on doing it but because they are, for what I think is to appease regulators for as long as possible, holding it off until the very end.
