Instructions unclear still doesn't work.
well, re-read it bud, i got it to work with the instructions there, it is very easy if you read them.

download the hotfix 1.03 and 1.02, install the 1.02 files then the 1.03.

if you have yet to get the main game to run before adding mods Delete the patch and run file and re run the patcher.

Blegh, got hit with the slime bug. I think im permanently in powered up mode, but visually it doesnt show it. Still absorb projectiles but slimes effect is stuck at 50, and its really annoying

Okay, so playing this for the first time, I do have to admit that I did have to sadly put it down after clearing the first zone.

This wasn't because I didn't enjoy it, but because the escape system was starting to physically hurt my hands, especially on the longer escapes.

Like, the hypnosis should not be on by default, it actually made it so I had to loose to 6 enemies before realizing what I actually needed to do timing wise, and I had one bad run on a jellyfish that actually somehow stretched on for 10 minutes of struggling against it. Hot in concept, but again, my hands were in physical pain and I still had the rest of the level and the boss of that zone to beat.

Additionally, the choice of giving the gunner grunts shotguns and then placing them in the only "death pit" sections in the game genuinely was one of the most evil moves I've seen, and not even in a sexy way.

Otherwise, I do like the changes to the health/corruptions overall, I just wish my hands didn't still hurt almost a week after finally playing it.

Same reason I dropped it quickly too. Good intentions trying to make statuses more gameplay relevant, but carpal tunnel syndrome in practice

Yep, that was one of my criticisms. Easily solved if the mod respected the base game setting to make struggling possible by just holding down a button, but it doesn't, and I'm not sure the mod dev is even around anymore.

Yeah I hear you. If I would have been able to easily change the level layout, HUD, assets I would have liked to give it more accessibility features eg:
Pits are stupid. They do not add any risk to the gameplay. Remove them
The jellyfish mechanic is in a good place but needs explanation. The tutorial for that is in the second stage thus too late. Needs to be explained as soon as these enemies are appearing
QTE accessibility is very important. Having options for that or adapting it dynamically improves enjoyment

Sadly my tools are limited. Keep in mind that I could only alter the scripts and swap assets. I need to work with what i got from the vanilla game. I hope some enjoyed my mod others still got the vanilla version. You may mod it too your liking (nowadays it got even more accessible du to AI)

I bounced right off of this mod after trying to escape a couple times. If it were a fair bit more forgiving I think it wouldn't be as tedious but as it stands I just can't handle it. It's not a bad idea, i think, but it's frustrating to go from 'almost there' to 'well fuck you i guess' because i'm slow.

I'll just pop in real quick to tell you that this mod unironically makes this game.
I'd really enjoy a randomizer mode on abyss where enemies are spawned at random and fragments give you random equipment. I dislike game over statuses, though. I wish they lead to more severe debuffs than usual.
I'd also enjoy Hachina version of this though we all know Hachina is uh, light on the content.

yep, you are not alone on thinking this. Base game gets boring really fast.
Hachina... really good art, but the combat feels the same boredom or bullethell pain to die.

Just had a freeze up. Tried to jump on a jellyfish and it caught me instead. But then we both disappeared and the struggle bar wouldn't do anything. It too vanished, and I couldn't get anything more to happen. As this was 1-1, I hadn't saved or anything, and with backing out disabled, all I could really do was exit and restart from scratch.

I freshly installed 1.03 hotfix linked to at the top of this thread. I was thinking I'd seen this as a bug somewhere in this thread (not necessarily this monster) but couldn't find it. I've noticed it's not trivial to goomba-stomp these guys, even when you're in perfect position; the impact zone may need to be widened a bit.

Any chance you're coming back to finish fixing bugs and polishing and stuff sometime soon? Maybe re-enable auto-struggle (Z key) for those of us who don't find a lot of humor in getting interminably juggled? Maybe flash whatever just changed when I take some kind of hit so I can see what's happening to me and what's doing it instead of having to guess (wrongly)?

It's really more challenging than the original game! Yes, it's as buggy (if not more) than the original but this is just how it can be with mods like this.

Silly question: Does the Saki bad end minigame (with resisting the pleasure orb) still have an achievement for 20,000 points? Because gathering them is also much harder now, barely made it to 4,000 on my first try.

I am not sure what I'm doing wrong but following the instructions doesn't change anything for me save the title screen and tutorial. everything else is still the same as the base game.
