You can fish and hunt in the game. Automatic five stars. No, but seriously, I can tell a lot of love and care went into this game and it definitely pays off. On the surface, Mist rubs off as one of those games where sex takes priority over a well-developed plot and characters, but surprisingly it is somewhat able to manage all three pretty well. Just don't expect a Nolan or Scorsese level plot!

This game is... something special all right. Just astounding levels of quality across the board. The atmosphere alone is oozing with mysticism and creepiness, and in some places can get really dark, but never crossing that faint line into the territory of amateurish cheesiness.

Now, let's address the elephant in the room: The art-style. I didn't have any problems with it at first, it is, in my opinion, very unique and vibrant, and fits the game like a glove. The first girl, Robin, looks very cute and detailed: She is rendered extremely well, her expressions are lively, her skin is of a pleasant warm color, she has adorable freckles, gorgeous blue eyes, though the hair can look plasticky at times, but the feeling fades really quick. All in all, i really like how the author made her look, big fan. My problems with the art start with a second heroine, Mia.
Mia's appearance is... well, it almost looks like she came from a different game, if you put her and Robin side-to-side. The art-style felt that varied. She is a lot more pale, she looks like she was rendered in a rush, with a bit of blurriness around her, where Robin is very sharp and defined. Mia's facial structure and expressions also clash with the first heroine, leaving a constant feeling of not quite belonging here. Her hair looks more realistic than Robin as well - still a bit plastic, but it's part of the style i already embraced by that point. Her body is detailed well enough and is pleasing to the eye, no problems there, but the overall look felt a bit off. It was jarring for the first few hours, i got used to it and it stopped bothering me, but first impression was not that great. I won't dive deep into other girls (not on this site, at least, wink-wink), but there is nothing to worry about in terms of their looks.

As for the writing, while i wouldn't call it stellar, is way, way above a porn game. There were some moments where it falls a bit flat or short, but they are few and far in-between. As i said, the atmosphere is phenomenal, horror segments are written and presented expertly, and the world itself just pulls you in, making the player want to explore it and learn about it by himself , which is an incredible feat to pull off.
I have a little bit less praise for the writing of characters, some of the conflicts and transformations resolve and happen way too quickly. Honestly, I'd prefer if the heroines were less horny, at least at the start, because the way some events transpire got a good ol'l chuckle out of me, and made me go "Ah, right. It's a porn game, i forgot". But it's just a sign of how well the rest of the game is made, i can count on fingers of one hand when an adult game made me forgot that there is, in fact, porn in it, and not just the plot and deep character development and interactions.

Now, since we are on the topic of porn, how is it? Well, i was amazed, right from the first scenes. Animations are smooth and done incredibly well, some of them felt really sensual, which is not something i feel very often. The dialogue and inner thoughts of participants do get a bit corny, but in this game it somehow works and serves as a great fuel for those who appreciate verbal stimulation. Variety and the amount of sex scenes is great, though i miss the really expressive and intricately animated cumming scenes present in the very first ones. Those are just top-shelf stuff I've never seen anywhere else.

Now, the gameplay. I was worried that the game will be a "hard survival" game, but it really isn't. I played on scavenge mode, and never, ever had any trouble. Fighting is simple, hunger has a very generous deadline, resource scavenging can be a bit tedious though, but luckily you always have something to do while it happens.
Also cannot praise the quest journal enough, more games should have such straightforward and clear instructions in case the player is lost.

To put my review to a close - I'd say that this is one of the best adult games i've ever played, and the first one i wrote a decent-sized review on. I was just that much impressed. Never heard about the developer before, but now will eagerly follow their work whenever i can. After all, i want to know what else these magicians can conjure up, because their first show i saw left me completely enchanted and eager for more.

Amazing game!

First of all, the animation might not be for all, but i loved it and it was a nice change.

The girls look amazing and natural! The didnt have a huge weird tits or ass, but a more common and so beautiful build. The characters had enough changes between them- small boobs (its so rare in games, seriously!), big boobs, small ass, big ass. eye colors and so on.

As a bit of a coward this game was fine for me horror wise, so take into consideration.

I loved the balance between the horny, the plot, the horror, and the grinding which was really good. BTW you can choose from the beginning how much of surviving you would want.

The plot was interesting with a few surprises and i didnt even feel the time passing.


The animation of the sex stuff was also great.
First, even after cumming you can keep on watching.
There are enough angles and lots of different sex stuff (hj,bj,missionary,doggy,anal) from the loving and curious to the hard-brutal stuff but in a good way.

Gotta say the boobs and pussy art is exactly my taste and the girls were so beautiful!

The best porn game ive ever played. The gameplay was simple but good, the story was very well written especially in comparison to other porn games, the animations and sound design was/were on spot and the music was absolutely perfect.

MIST was a massive surprise for me. The mystery aspect of the game persists throughout. I was on edge until the very end, well after all the lore had been discovered. The characters and the relationships they form also really endeared me. I loved the way they would banter with each other, much effort was put into making them believable. The fantastic writing is also what made the sex scenes much more pleasant than they would have been otherwise. Congratulations to the developer for making one of the best 3D-style games in the genre.

Alot better than I expected. The art style took a while for me to get around but I love the game overall. Great characters and excellent atmosphere. Really helped me feel the tension and the stakes which in turn made me surprisingly invested in the characters and story.

I seriously wanted to enjoy this game but GOD the writing is just awful. This game is clearly trying to be more than a standard visual novel and I commend that but the writing is just so laughably bad, the main character is a weirdo, the first girl you meet has practically no character, the way sex comes up is extremely forced, the characters reacting to the Mist is so underwhelming, and the writing itself is so stilted and unnatural that its hard to even view the characters as humans sometimes.

The only reason this is average for me is that the dev is clearly trying for something unique (and god knows the H game genre is full of cookie-cutter shit). To start, the models are different, not necessarily great but it's a welcome change of pace from the usual. Then there's the gameplay loop where you start the day, do an expedition for food/resources/story, come home, and progress a relationship. This is honestly kinda refreshing because the grind isn't too bad and its a nice change of pace from talking with your cardboard roommates. Another thing I thought was cool was that the dev actually put in cutscenes and transitions that, while a little wonky sometimes are at least cool and do a good job of differentiating the game from other static visual novel experiences.

Finally, I would say that there really isn't much in the way of choices in the game, it's pretty linear and your character isn't very customizable.


TLDR: I think Mist is a game with a lot of ambition and unique qualities. It should be given a shot if you don't care much about writing quality, but dear lord if you want good writing then just skip this, the presentation doesn't make up for it, it just reminds you of the potential the game had.

The "back of the box" blurb from me would probably read something along the lines of "A very varied and compelling game with a captivating story, heavily recommended."

But let's see what we have here: you are on your way to an old abandoned family hut when a strange weather phenomenon (kind of a mist, who'd have thought) occurs, but you make it to the hut. Shortly thereafter you hear a scream and find a girl outside, trying to fend off some human-shaped but inhuman creature. You help her and take her in. Together, you are trying to find out what happened, how to take down the strange creatures (not too far removed in behavior from zombies, but through all kinds of species) which appeared, how to create a sustainable life at least for the moment. You explore your surroundings, collect food and other resources, find more survivors and so forth.

Let's start with the stuff that is easy to explain: the graphics you see in the preview pictures. It surely is a rare style on these pages, not entirely unique but not seen that often, which you need to like. I happen to do so. The animations during the game are of great quality, smooth and long, and not only used for some (inevitable) sexy time but also to set the mood while exploring, a big plus making the whole experience pretty rounded. There will obviously be horror elements, so if you do not like blood on your screen, that might be a problem - the game however will warn you before jump scares or similar happen and allow you to skip. A small break in your entrancement but certainly worth it for many.

The music is pretty good in supporting the different moods and unobtrusive, which is how it should be during gameplay.

The writing is to be commended as well, the overall story is interesting - and I like if there is something that keeps you going apart from hunting down skirts - the flow of sentences is generally good (a hiccup here and there), and typos or wrong homophones are few and far between.

The UI is very workable for me in general, the quest log is good enough that you will not need an external walkthrough or mods here, mini games are mostly well explained or intuitive. At critical points with a possible to likely game over the game will also warn you to save.

Some minor quibbles though: the exploring part in many places gives you different options on where to go next, but is always oriented away from your point of origin, not from where you just came from. So when you take three steps out, then turn back, you need to hit the "back" button further instead of going the new forward. Which might be the intuitive way for some but wasn't for me. However it is nothing major, and soon you will know your forest well enough to quickly get to where you want to (except for some encounters you'll have to settle while doing so). The second quibble would be the equipment screen which is overblown, offering a gazillion slots for weapons which you will not even use to 10%. The third is the - otherwise very comfortable - gallery unfortunately giving a story plot twist away - not the exact twist but that something will happen during "the last mission", since there are way too many still locked scenes.

Now for the most complex part, the gameplay. While using a basic sandbox setup (with two phases, day and evening/night only) I would argue it isn't a real box. There is not much variation in how you can approach tasks in different ways, day will always be exploring and resources, night will continue the girls stories. It however has strong management elements in that you need to sometimes keep the main story on a backseat so you can gather needed resources, what people call "grind" but it never felt "grindy" to me.

There is a simple turn based combat element when you encounter the creatures called "shadows" but interesting enough, you'll have to manage your health, your stamina (ability to do certain actions), your ammunition, and your "corruption by the mist" (technically the last part is different but this way it probably is more understandable if you haven't played the game). After a bit you'll know your moves well enough, and surprise, surprise, once you got good gear and have leveled up your stats, it will become easy peasy and you'll CTRL skip through it.

There are a couple of different mini games for fishing, sneaking past enemies, climbing a slippery surface and so forth. This might be a problem for some, however I found them to be very fairly explained and easy enough. As actually the whole difficulty is pretty easy in my eyes, so don't be afraid of "management", "mini games" and so forth, even if it's not your forte you will probably manage pretty well. One of the sneaking minigames however is quite lengthy - not a problem as such, since I was completely immersed in the athmosphere, but when I failed the boss battle afterwards, I had to redo it and it was a bit too long then. So save often, guys. Though it was only this one (and final) battle I really struggled with, the difficulty spike was pretty heavy here, admittedly also because the best strategy was very different from how I normally handle such situations in games, so I had to rethink what I did.

The lewds as such are nicely done, a bit of variation, good dirty talk, as already said high quality animations. Everything is a bit heavy on showing your load blown, especially creampie lovers will have a field day, however even though I am one myself I thought it was a bit too much at times.

So basically a compelling story, a very adapt handling, and a nice variability of gameplay styles (though it has to be mentioned that in parts it feels like a kinetic novel, even if you click certain actions there are no alternatives for you to do). I had a blast with this game and can only recommend it. And no, I am generally not a fan of horror/zombie genre stuff.

Some issues I personally had are for one that during the last phase of the game - way after I turned all available girls into my happy harem - I wanted to see how the story continues but all the "unnecessary sex scenes" got a bit in the way, since they didn't really offer anything new. Another thing is that part of the girls' stories are told by meeting up with them in specific places in the evening (bath, living room, outside stargazing) however without any prompt when new ones appear, making you check regularily. They are not required to complete the game or watch the scenes but somewhat important for the whole mood so this can be a bit annoying. The last thing bothering me is the ending - to be fair that may be very personal. After the one twist the ending was pretty much what I expected but also feared, since I see a couple of logical problems with it. I have to admit however that it is very well made and I enjoyed and appreciated the fun and love that went into it, it certainly isn't just another "and they did fuck until they died". Just the content wasn't what I hoped for. But I invite everybody to check out for themselves whether they agree or disagree, at least the road there is rewarding enough.

Surprisingly good doesn't do it justice

Many times games that try to integrate grinding mechanics, they do it to extend the playtime, this is surprisingly well paced so that the scaling of your abilities and resource collection is more or less synchronized with the time that you are out of content. It has a pretty good gameplay loop outside of the smut, if it was a non-H game it would be at least an interesting experiment

The 3D models are pleasing and have an interesting and distinctive look. Much more than the models themselves the game excels with its animations especially during the sex scenes. Sex scenes have subtle variations during the same scene that make it much more interesting, bodies deform and interact in realistic ways and there are many small touches, the kind of which you know were not necessary but make the scenes much more satisfying

I love the game, it has such a unique style compared to the other games that I've played on this website and even though I don't really like survival stuff, it didn't bother me in this game at all. One thing I really like to know as a person who is interested in making his on visual novel/renpy game, what did you use to make these models/animated scenes, I am an absolute noob so yeah...

Good game with good sexual scenes. An issue is the facial expressions of the characters but the game's story makes up for it. Go in with an open mind and it's a good time. The walkthrough is straightforward, an issue with the game is the UI at times, but that's minor

First review, so I'll follow the suggested categories

• Story: Engaging, always some stakes to work toward, never lost on what to do. Appreciated the warnings for jumpscares etc.
• Originality: 8/10 uses tropes, but spins them in a good way.
• Renders & Animations: Excellent custom animations, good variety.
• Sound: Atmospheric, fitting & tense
• Voice Acting: Not voiced, but enough consistency in moaning/laughs for characters
• Playability, Performance, Bugs, Grammar: No issues [Played full version, not compressed]
• Amount of content: Roughly 20hrs of gameplay on easymode

Final words:

Excellent, one of the best games on this site. The story is really a fresh take on some stupid tropes, the exploration is sometimes really tense. The Models are nice, and the characters are really really good and unique.

Really great game. Great models and animations. Pretty nice sound design too. Has some really nice POV scenes. The story was interesting and complete. I would have enjoyed some clothing options for the characters, but considering the tech behind the game, I know its unreasonable.

Excellent story, great visuals. I probably would've been happy playing this game without the adult content. My only gripe is that I would like another difficulty that maybe just doubles the food drops instead of having to choose between total chore and gathering is useless.

If you are an FFM threesome enthusiast such as I am, you will not be disappointed with the threesome scenes this game has to offer, the quality is so good that I am surprised my PC can run it... My only complaint is that the incest is only a patch and not an option in the launcher of the game, that would make it much more enjoyable.

This is a supêr-dupêr-pupêr game. No, it's greatly flawed.
A quick remark about the rewiev: since the middle of the game, when I was already indeed iritated and anoyed, my attitude to the game started to shift.
Before this, I would write a few pages of criticism about all the silliness, all the pokerface inludcing moments, and about what can be called ineptitude to make the game being a game. Yet, not anymore.

Now I claim that this is an illegal game, let me make see the point: it's... it does feel like a classical antiutopia for teens like Hunger Games or Maze Something and other crap, pardon. You you simply... don't watch those creatures of human art after you coming to grow up. Yet this is adult game ... therefore, it's illigal to play it for targeted audience.


Apart from that, it's a game-filler. Imagine yourself a series, where 96% of everything is just filler. That's this game. Notorious amount of grind EVEN IN EASY MODE. Infinite thousand of years waiting, where you simply don't advance, and «adult» game entertains you during this very tense moment... how? Easy. Nohow. Thatshow. And game does not have the adequate implementation of «Hello! There's something new! Come here! Or better let me take your hand and lead you to it». No. Open all those talk menu(text of them don't change to say «THERE'S SOMEHTING YOU DIDN'T SEE»

Not to mention other stricly objective flaws:
— there are lots of prerendered 3d passages of camera with rudicolous setting of FOV Wau, ziz iz zee zoom, zee amazaieng zoom. And that comes among with...
— all those attempts to impress with graphics that is not state of art by even scale of late '10s games. Elaboration: oftenly you can see low resolution textures at the background. And sometimes what author created has fidelity contrast with the rest of the game: graphics is not always consistent
— and please bear in mind all those transition scenes. The majority of them use somewhat original dizziness-indulcing author effect. And a few used effect 'pass throught that abstract door', inspired by classical Resident Evils.
— liquids-related physics of the game isn't contemporary either. A lot of camera attention goe... comes to be observing the result of intercourse. In the form of seme... spe... goo of white colour, slowly lea... exiting the hole. I really disliked this part, it's done poorly.
— the amount of dialogues, say, Lêv Nikolaêvič would need a tome of War and Peace to competite amount-wise, nonetheless, it'd need just a few quotes to dwarfen quality-wise this game.
— the exploraion, which is yet quite limited. And the game does not allow you to do anyhing new when you're just waiting. «Exploring inside the cage» effect.
— insanely long game for its limited conents

It could be an okay collection of scene-renders, connection of which you'd making by yourself, but instead of that – this is a poor game. Poor boredomnesssome-indulcing game.

P.s. I wrote this not because I's been feeling good after 'playing' this. My sincere appology to ones who had bear with me and my authorship style.

Positive reviews and ratings on F95 are often quite deceiving, people have (unsurprisingly) low standards when it comes to porn games. In the case of MIST, however, its excellent rating is very much justified, and maybe even a bit lower than what it deserves.

To call this game a diamond in the rough would be a massive understatement. This is THE game you want to be playing for heterosexual, (mostly) vanilla content, and if the thrills of playing porn games for the porn have grown dull for you, then this is THE game you want to be playing for the story, characters and atmosphere. In fact, it's likely that at some point you will become so invested in the story that you'll forget all about deriving any kind of sexual satisfaction from it and instead you will crave to find out what happens next; not that this makes the renders and animations any less impressive and unique.

I was going to end this review by saying that MIST is not a masterpiece, but the more I thought about it, the more unsure I was. Yes, it's unpolished in some places, it has bugs, typos, minor annoyances, and it has room for polish... but despite all of that, I simply cannot deny that it is leagues above its competition in nearly every aspect, especially originality. The fact that I'm saying this about a game that can still be improved and refined speaks volumes about other popular games which can only dream of being as polished and complete as MIST.

No, it isn't perfect. But as far as porn games go, yes, MIST is a masterpiece. This, right here, right now, is as good as it gets for 3D Ren'Py games.
