If you are an FFM threesome enthusiast such as I am, you will not be disappointed with the threesome scenes this game has to offer, the quality is so good that I am surprised my PC can run it... My only complaint is that the incest is only a patch and not an option in the launcher of the game, that would make it much more enjoyable.

This is a supêr-dupêr-pupêr game. No, it's greatly flawed.
A quick remark about the rewiev: since the middle of the game, when I was already indeed iritated and anoyed, my attitude to the game started to shift.
Before this, I would write a few pages of criticism about all the silliness, all the pokerface inludcing moments, and about what can be called ineptitude to make the game being a game. Yet, not anymore.

Now I claim that this is an illegal game, let me make see the point: it's... it does feel like a classical antiutopia for teens like Hunger Games or Maze Something and other crap, pardon. You you simply... don't watch those creatures of human art after you coming to grow up. Yet this is adult game ... therefore, it's illigal to play it for targeted audience.

Apart from that, it's a game-filler. Imagine yourself a series, where 96% of everything is just filler. That's this game. Notorious amount of grind EVEN IN EASY MODE. Infinite thousand of years waiting, where you simply don't advance, and «adult» game entertains you during this very tense moment... how? Easy. Nohow. Thatshow. And game does not have the adequate implementation of «Hello! There's something new! Come here! Or better let me take your hand and lead you to it». No. Open all those talk menu(text of them don't change to say «THERE'S SOMEHTING YOU DIDN'T SEE»

Not to mention other stricly objective flaws:
    — there are lots of prerendered 3d passages of camera with rudicolous setting of FOV Wau, ziz iz zee zoom, zee amazaieng zoom. And that comes among with...
    — all those attempts to impress with graphics that is not state of art by even scale of late '10s games. Elaboration: oftenly you can see low resolution textures at the background. And sometimes what author created has fidelity contrast with the rest of the game: graphics is not always consistent
    — and please bear in mind all those transition scenes. The majority of them use somewhat original dizziness-indulcing author effect. And a few used effect 'pass throught that abstract door', inspired by classical Resident Evils.
    — liquids-related physics of the game isn't contemporary either. A lot of camera attention goe... comes to be observing the result of intercourse. In the form of seme... spe... goo of white colour, slowly lea... exiting the hole. I really disliked this part, it's done poorly.
    — the amount of dialogues, say, Lêv Nikolaêvič would need a tome of War and Peace to competite amount-wise, nonetheless, it'd need just a few quotes to dwarfen quality-wise this game.
    — the exploraion, which is yet quite limited. And the game does not allow you to do anyhing new when you're just waiting. «Exploring inside the cage» effect.
insanely long game for its limited conents

It could be an okay collection of scene-renders, connection of which you'd making by yourself, but instead of that – this is a poor game. Poor boredomnesssome-indulcing game.

P.s. I wrote this not because I's been feeling good after 'playing' this. My sincere appology to ones who had bear with me and my authorship style.

Positive reviews and ratings on F95 are often quite deceiving, people have (unsurprisingly) low standards when it comes to porn games. In the case of MIST, however, its excellent rating is very much justified, and maybe even a bit lower than what it deserves.

To call this game a diamond in the rough would be a massive understatement. This is THE game you want to be playing for heterosexual, (mostly) vanilla content, and if the thrills of playing porn games for the porn have grown dull for you, then this is THE game you want to be playing for the story, characters and atmosphere. In fact, it's likely that at some point you will become so invested in the story that you'll forget all about deriving any kind of sexual satisfaction from it and instead you will crave to find out what happens next; not that this makes the renders and animations any less impressive and unique.

I was going to end this review by saying that MIST is not a masterpiece, but the more I thought about it, the more unsure I was. Yes, it's unpolished in some places, it has bugs, typos, minor annoyances, and it has room for polish... but despite all of that, I simply cannot deny that it is leagues above its competition in nearly every aspect, especially originality. The fact that I'm saying this about a game that can still be improved and refined speaks volumes about other popular games which can only dream of being as polished and complete as MIST.

No, it isn't perfect. But as far as porn games go, yes, MIST is a masterpiece. This, right here, right now, is as good as it gets for 3D Ren'Py games.

What is left but to echo sentiments expressed elsewhere?

The graphics need some adjustment on the part of the player, but are a welcome breath of fresh air, and leave but a pleasant aftertaste.
The writing (some very few, very minor spelling mistakes notwithstanding) is excellent, and I very much believe that it works as both a game and, perhaps more importantly, a story.

It had me on the edge of my seat and multiple twists
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
    kept it engaging throughout.
I was, further, quite pleasantly surprised with freeroam
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
and the variety of the gameplay, with the QTEs.

Due praise aside (and cut short, as implied previously, I share most positive sentiments expressed, even if not explicitly listed), there were the most minor of flaws a perfectionist can't help but notice.
As previously mentioned, some spelling mistakes remain,
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
and some funky quirks in the engine seemed to remain (
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
    ).
There also seemed to be the slightest issue in internal logic (
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
), but it is a lovingly crafted world.
That most minor of complaints, result perhaps from an oversight of the reviewing party aside, however and one is left with naught but praise for a meticulously crafted universe, that may well deserve another entry and, at least for a duration, the financial contribution from a student on a hamstrung budget, to, at the very least, compensate for the price of admission that would have barred from entry at more noble an establishment.

It's perhaps worth noting that while there is no room for player agency (you can't hoard ammunition, or focus on specific weapons, ranged or close-combat, the most you could do is refuse to level up or refuse to engage the flavor content, for whatever reason), I feel it is of no detriment to the game, as characters and setting mesh well enough for you to forget it (and why should there be a uniform way to craft a story for a medium that allows player interaction, the VN?) and it might perhaps, counterintuitively, be to its benefit.
Nothing is more unsatisfying than the illusion of choice (which is why Origins was the only good entry in the series, superbly good at that) and a committal to a branching narrative, cynically speaking, must find some justification through player response.
If I provide two branches, yet already hardly anyone makes use of Path B on the first branching, I might just provide supply a good for which there is no demand.

A fun take on an apocalyptic scenario, where the sex/harem eventually are justified and factored directly in to the deus ex machina that allows the characters to fight back against the antagonists, in a fairly unique twist (at least the first time I've seen this in a visual novel I've actually ended up liking overall).

The character and story writing good all around. The trials the characters face and the way they change as they overcome them and get stronger is enjoyable to follow.

The gameplay is unfortunately a bit tedious and grindy. I'm not normally a big fan of sandbox VNs in the first place, but this one further adds RPG, exploration, and management elements. While the elements themselves are implemented decently, I generally felt they detracted from the experience when I wanted to progress the story. Luckily the management elements are largely avoidable by choosing an option presented to you when they would begin. The only positive aspect of the RPG elements, in my opinion, is that it allows tangible demonstration of certain moments when the protagonist receives a power-spike.

While I wish all the extra mechanics could all have been side-stepped by offering a "kinetic-mode" or such, the fact that I played it through to the end is a testament to the quality of the story and writing.

The visuals may not be to everyone's liking, as the models lie somewhere between semi-realistic and toon-y (sort of striking an "uncanny valley" feel at times). That said, if you can get past the style, the models are well done, and the animations are great (if sometimes a bit exaggerated). The backgrounds are all unique and high quality.

The music is atmospheric and fits well within the background/general mood of the game. While I didn't like the RPG elements, the music during combat and action sequences was very well done and well fitting.

Overall, I enjoyed the experience, and would definitely recommend it. A strong recommendation to those who like sandbox/RPG/management mechanics in VNs, and a moderate recommendation to those who prefer kinetic VNs or very mild sandbox elements.

Have to agree with most of the other 5 star reviewers that this game is a gem. I've only been following this genre for less than a year and was not a Manga fan before so I had no real feel what to expect for overall quality and what the norms of this genre are. But running across this gem in a sea of HoneySelect and other common animation engines with their common scene sets and common character faces and bodies, it was refreshing to see so much original art work and animations.
There are some minor flaws in continuity and dialogue but less so than most others in this genre. But there is more original thought and content than most.
I was at first put off by the more cartoony character faces and hairdos (think Robin's noodle hair) and almost didn't play this expecting that same cartoony (anime) style to prevail. But it didn't take long for that initial impression to be blown away by the storytelling, scenery, and animation content.
In my ranked filter in F95 I use to find titles worth playing/reading based on user ratings, this now ranks as #2 behind Leap of Faith, a position I agree with, that while LOF had a greater emotional impact, this effort by 395 Games is a worthy effort at its current number 2 position and is head an shoulders above most others in this genre.

Absolutely magnificient. Once in a blue moon of a game. Animations are awesome, plot is constantly twisting, sex is deeply threaded within the story. Gorgeusly written and masterfully animated, I would play again and again from zero.

I feel very blessed to be there at the early stages of this game. The unique art style gripped me the second I saw the characters and I was hooked. The quality of the animations was very good and it got better as the game went on. At first the choice to go with transitions that are actually animated felt weird to me because I believed it didn't matter and would take time from the dev to create the animations we downloaded the game for. On the contrary, It added SO MUCH atmosphere for me. This is one of the few games that I was actually immersed to my surroundings. While the combat is junky and the overall gameplay is not much to praise I still appreciate the effort that went into them.

Only bad thing I can say about the game is that while the quality of the +18 animations were great, many of them were not exciting for me. I lean more on the side of the context of the "action" rather than how sleek it looks. There are games that made me "enjoy" the adult side more than this one, but the story and the atmosphere got me going.

Loved every second I played it, Highly Recommended.

Never heard nor payed this game before.. Simply decided to download it because i noticed the "completed" tag.

And boy was i pleseantly surprised.

The game is amazing, with a great and interesting story, wellround characters and a cool gameplay with diferent elements.

Allthought the visuals are different from most of the games in f95, this game deserves the top spot in here. The characters are interesting and the situations that they get themselfs into flow very naturaly to a point where you likethemmore and more.. The sexual content is great... but the entirety of thegame is soo good that only focusing on that obvious aspect would be a disfavor towards the game..

    very welldone.

    200 characters are unnecessary.
    Here something to fill up:

Halley's comet will next appear in the night sky in the year 2062. It orbits the sun every 75-76 years, so this is the time between appearances. Halley's comet was recorded by Edmund Halley in 1682. It was seen again in 1758, 1835, 1910, and 1986.

Gameplay: Is maybe a little simple but Good at the end.
    Durability: Is large.
Art: Is very good and the animation is the best.
    Music: Very Inmersive.

One of the best games I have played in awhile. This game is the reason I will support the game dev on any projects they do and help fund them.

Everything from the story, to the art and character growth in this game is done very well and it is a complete story package.

This is probably going to be my longest game review by a pretty decent margin, but MIST deserves all the attention I can give it. If you want a spoiler-free review, I’ll simply say that this game is at least good in every aspect, and many things in it are truly great. It is worth your time to play, and if you have the money to spare, I highly encourage others to support the dev on patreon or buy a copy of the game.

Now for the spoiler sections, I will be reviewing everything in categories. Once again, while I try to keep some of it vague, there are spoilers ahead:

    • Gameplay (4/5): I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t really play these games for the gameplay. I play it for the stories and the adult content. Usually minigames and exploration are just a distraction from that, and I’m usually happier if I don’t have to deal with it. That being said, the gameplay in MIST is surprisingly engaging. The exploration is genuinely mysterious and I found myself really looking at each screen to scan for details. It really makes a difference that the dev MADE these scenes himself instead of just using HS and just using the same living room area from 200 other HS games. The indicator that appears when the plants are ready for harvest is also a great QOL addition that made that part of the game much better. I usually hate resource management, but the resource management in MIST is surprisingly not frustrating — not to mention that there’s an option at the beginning of the game to basically ignore most of it. All-in-all, the gameplay is a positive aspect of the game, and that alone is a rarity for adult games.

    • Writing[spelling/grammar/word choice] (4/5): This is specifically just about the technical aspect of the writing. The quality of the creative aspects will be gone over in the Story and Characters sections. The writing is mostly error-free and the conversational dialogue is pretty believable and clever for much of the game. But there are a few errors, especially early-on, but these are mostly minor issues (like saying “loose” instead of “lose”, “unfaced” instead of “unfazed”, “sneaked” instead of “snuck”, etc…). These errors become far less frequent as the game progresses. Overall, it’s more polished than most adult games on this site, and if the Dev’s native language isn’t English, that’s all the more impressive. I think the biggest issue for me is that some of the word choices are a liiiiiiittle strange. Especially the “naughty” dialogue. It feels like some of the words were just taken out of a thesaurus and no consideration was made into what people actually say in English. Some of it is great and really sexy, but man… please never describe boobs as “mounds” or “globes” ever again. Never describe a pussy as a “sheathe” or “swampy”(ick). It’s definitely not sexy.

I also noticed some inconsistencies in the writing. For example, when you first save Lily and bring her home, you tell the other girls everything that happened while you were gone (including the footjob and how your magic is stronger when you’re aroused). But then when you start fighting the raiding parties of shadows and you have another house meeting, the girls are suddenly surprised to hear that you saw Lily’s breasts and that your magic is stronger when you’re horny even though you just told them a day or two ago. Something like that is really simple but it definitely messes with the immersion of the story.

    • Characters (5/5): This game gets it. Sure, it’s nice to have a harem of 30 different girls, but it’s way more rewarding to have more depthful relationships with just a handful of them, and allowing you to flesh each of them out more thoroughly. Honestly the characters in this game are so damn good, I’m gonna just have a section for each:
      • Robin: The first character you meet and she’s a winner. She’s confident and funny which is nice. I was expecting her to be more shy and reserved but was pleasantly surprised. I do wish that she and the MC had more of a lengthy discussion about the monsters on their first night together — it felt like they kinda glossed over how scary and traumatising that would have been irl. But her relationship is wonderful. It has a satisfying buildup, her and the MC have great chemistry basically from the get-go, and there’s basically no manufactured drama between them. I will say that she becomes a little less important and compelling for a chunk of the game once Mia and Lily show up, but it makes sense that the Dev would focus on some of the new characters. Still, I think there’s something to be said about the bond you have with a character when it’s only you and them. The early parts of this game really evoke that feeling well.
      • Mia: The second character you meet and my personal favorite, I think. They are all great, but Mia is a bit more of a mystery at first, her personal story is more interesting to me, and in contrast to Robin, she has a much more realistic reaction to trauma when she is first introduced. But her chemistry with all the other characters is great all around. She’s kinky and fun, and she’s quirky without being cringy.
      • Lily: The twist introduction of Lily was really solid and unexpected. It was a great way to introduce the character, but also introduce a bunch of story and worldbuilding elements. That being said, when she was freed from the mind control, she was way too quick on the uptake. You’d think she’d be more immediately apologetic if she truly remembered torturing someone she loves. She eventually does apologise and feel more guilt, but it felt a little too delayed. After that, she’s definitely a strange character, but still cute and interesting in her own way.
      • Noreia: Another interesting and very unique character. MIST is far from the only adult game to have some sort of sexy lady in your head, but it’s the first to do it in such a satisfying way. It has tons of buildup and feels pretty rewarding once you really get into her story.
      • MC: The main character is likeable and clever. They aren’t some moronic, dominant chad; but they also aren’t a cringy, useless simp either. They strike a good balance between relatable, reliable, and kind. Though there are definitely moments where I feel like the MC is maybe a bit too laissez-faire about the things going on. Like he accepts the reality of monsters and magic pretty fast. I would have liked to see him and the others grapple with the new reality of their world a bit more instead of taking everything in stride so quickly just for the sake of moving the plot along. But he's definitely one of the more likable MCs in adult gaming.
    • Story (5/5): The story in this game is genuinely very good, which is super rare for erotic and adult games. For an adult game, I tend to have lower expectations, but this story is good enough even if it wasn't looked at with those low expectations. I would genuinely read a book with this plot and likely be just as interested. The mystery is solid and I think it’s really a testament to how interesting the story is that I basically never skipped through dialogue out of boredom. I ALWAYS wanted to know what was going on. I was never in a rush to get to the next part because I was enjoying the ride. Something I can’t really say about any other game on this site aside from maybe ‘A House in the Rift’. I still remember the moment at the beginning when the radio wasn’t connecting to any of the channels and just being super interested in what was coming next. I feel like as more mystical elements are added, the more the game kinda leaves that spooky tone behind. The shadows stop being scary when you can zap them with magic and instakill them. But that’s just the reality of basically any game with combat progression. I’d say the game is weakest in the middle parts. The beginning is super moody, atmospheric, and mysterious; and then the final act is really fascinating, rewarding, and surprisingly long (with a few twists along the way). The middle meanders a bit, but the characters and setting are all good enough to carry you through. I won’t spoil any of the big end-of-story reveals here, but it was all very engaging and fun — easily one of the best, if not THE best stories for any game on this site.

    • Visuals/Animation (5/5): The visuals in this game are phenomenal. As I mentioned before, the custom-designed backgrounds add so much to the experience instead of just using premade assets. The characters and artstyle are super unique and really hot. And all the sex scenes are animated. If I had any complaints, it would be that some of the early sex scenes feel a little short or incomplete. I think the non-sexual animations and cumshots definitely need the most work, but they definitely get better as the game goes on and the dev improves their work. By the end of the game, the animations are genuinely superb. Overall, the game looks better than 90% of the games on this site, and it only got better as the game progressed. I think the dev’s next game is going to be phenomenal in this regard, and I can't wait to see what they do with new character designs.

    • Music (5/5): I normally mute adult games’ music. It’s usually extremely distracting "pop music" and/or recycling the same 4 tracks as every other game. But this game’s music is perfect. It’s subtle, it’s atmospheric. Half the time, I barely realize the music is playing, but it’s enhancing the tone the whole time. Exactly what music in a game like this SHOULD be. Other devs should be taking notes.

Overall, this game deserves all the love, attention, and support we can give it. Especially after it was unfairly removed from Steam. So please play this game and support the dev in whatever way you can. Games of this quality are few and far between, and devs that are willing to see these kinds of games through to completion are basically one in a million. Hats off to Theo (Aka 395games) for this masterpiece of an adult game.

Man now I see why this game is so highly rated. Easilly top 3 best games I've played so far.
Story is legit good with cool characters that manage to make you care for them, each girl has a personality and is cute on their own way, the interactions with them are extra heatwarming, perfect after a rough day IRL haha.
The H scenes are top tier, with good animation and sound (very important thing many games miss).

IMO this is probably the best harem VN that I've played, dare I say even better than Being A DIK, Summertime Saga and What A Legend! which is saying a lot. Wasn't a huge fan of the art style at first but it definitely grew on me as I continued throughout the story. Sex scenes in general are pretty hot and well made (even better than most of Subverse's Pandora scenes since not all of their fetishes landed on me personally) despite being short and simple. I liked its inspiration from early Silent Hill and Resident Evil vibe to it and the story was surprising engaging and didn't drag on too much. My only nitpick is that I wish it could've focused more on building more relationships with each girls rather than focusing more on survival tactics. But yeah, other than that this was a pretty solid adult VN. Mind you all that I'm not even a huge fan of its genre but I would be lying to you if I say this was a mediocre game. Will definitely looking forward to 395's next game called Children Of Morn. Highly recommended.

So yeah, this game is great. One of the best Ren'Py games I have played, and something that can be appreciated even for someone who normally doesn't prefer VN's, like myself. Mist is the best lewd VN I have played.

The visuals are the strongest aspect, having a distinct artstyle, a great ammount of animations and rendered scenes and a unique atmosphere of "mystery". The writing is decent, and not overbearing, despite the game relying on some well-worn tropes underneath. Mist breaks new ground in the genre of adult games, by featuring a likeable protagonist, and the female cast isn't too badly written either. Despite the simple mechanics of the game's "mystery", it still does the job, and serves it's function in driving the plot well enough. The gameplay is not complex, but is at least engaging enough to keep you occupied between events.

If I had to find the biggest criticism for the game, it would be that you can still see the seams of how it was put together update-by-update, with new gameplay systems, mechanics, and fundemental improvements being layered on little by little. Having only played the finished game, those seams do make for a bit of awkward pacing, with the early-game feeling especially monotonous. But at least all the events still serve the story, so it isn't too bad.

Despite the spooky presentation, Mist is an atmospheric, well animated work that skillfully walks the line between conventional erotiscism and engaging presentation.

Overall - on of the best adult games I've ever play. Engaging, fun, logical (mostly) and complete. I my taste, if there will be some content after game end, it will be better. Some sort of narration about near or far future of characters. But it's very good as it is.

    Graphic - 8 out of 10
    Gameplay - 8 out of 10
    Plot - 9 out of 10
    Scenes -9.5 out of 10

I've seen Mist among the top rated games for years and I finally played this after seeing it was completed with the latest update. Thank goodness, both that I played this game and waiting to do so after it was completed.

The visuals are quite different from other games here and it took a bit to get used to but the dev made good use of the art style. I got a feeling of suspense whenever the camera would pan to a new location. The bgm also adds to the feel and I appreciate having it in the game. Found it a bit odd however that the animation of objects held by the MC are just floating meanwhile we get to see his arms and the rest of his body during sex scenes.

The sex scenes are short but the animations are well done. The movements look good and the way the girls shake when cumming is pretty hot. Though personally it's a hit or miss, some scenes I just skimmed through while others I took some time with. There's honestly not much variety in the scenes, all the girls have pretty much similar kinks and dynamics with the MC.

But that's okay for me because midway through I got more invested in the story than the sex scenes lol. The story really went beyond my expectations. I thought it was just going to be a survival-mystery holing up in the woods waiting for rescue. Instead we take matters into our own hands as we go through the magic and sci-fi developments in the story. There were a few times where I thought, "Oh this feels like it's going to be close to the final battle," but then we get a new revelation that there is something bigger going on (Of course I knew at that point it was only partway through the story but if I played this as updates released I would have thought that it would be ending soon). Fortunately the grind and exploration isn't that bad and the timings line up with the story progression.

Overall, it is a very solid game and it was worth my time to play through.
