I actually felt sorry for being so unreasonably suspicious of her. I was genuinely prejudiced (the original definition of that word).

I believe it's called “complex character”.
I too had my doubts about Nora in the beginning, but then I was pleasantly surprised by the way the story developed. The presence of such characters adds intrigue to the plot, so it's not surprising that they're often used.
