It's a socialist nation. It's always 'politically charged'. I'll refrain from citing specific examples of incidents in socialist china because mods seem to dislike that. Personally, I despise socialism (hitler/stalin/mao/saddam hussein/etc.) and the chinese are on my shit-list for what they did to Coco. However, I do hope that things will change for them and maybe they won't have to deal with these crackdowns or the most brutal, long lasting govt lockdowns in the world over the seasonal flu. Anyway the crackdown is happening because the CCP (desperately) wants to raise socialist china's fertility rate (1.28). However, banning porn would have zero effect because the bottle-neck is women, not men.
You don't have to take my word for it. Just ask south korea where pornography is straight-up illegal yet it's rockin' one of the worst fertility rates in the world at 0.84 (LOL!). In any case, I hope the content creators in question are safe and laying low. They can always come back later as long as they are still around.
