Honey select is absolutely trash characters looks like plastic
Some developers are fantastic with Honey Select, some are bad. No different than Daz or anything else. I think that good HS games are better looking and sexier than mediocre ones created with Western engines, where the characters look like manequins.

More often than not, Daz looks worse than HS2. But i agree that it depends on the dev/animator. Examples of great animations from HS2 would be companion of darkness, stray incubus, realm invader and eternum. For Daz it'll be Growing things up, fresh women, Artemis, Projekt Passion.

I think that Max's Life, Dark Magic, and The Inn are the best examples of HS games for me. The way that they can make the bodies move beats almost anything in any Western engine I've ever seen. BTW, I forget to mention The Inn when I made my list for this thread. There isn't a lot of content for us, but what's there is super hot, and its a top calibre game in the way that its made all around.

Those you mentioned are good games. The engine on those i think are HS1 instead of HS2 though. Another game to add to the 3 that you just mentioned would be Desire of Fate

I didn't realize that. I thought that because of how fantastic they looked compared to most HS game, it must be the newer one. Are the HS2 games the ones that tend to look darker in general? I've noticed quite a few where the devs seem to always put many of the scenes in low lighting and wasn't sure if that was just an aesthetic choice or something that worked better.

Alot of the HS2 games do tend to be darker in general. I think most of those are due to aesthetic choices of the devs because the games tend to have some sort of anime-ish/superpower/dark fantasy themes such as the games i listed in my original reply to you. Alot of the HS1 games tend to be brighter because the settings tend to be in brighter places like classrooms etc. Also the HS1 models tend to look more cartoony compared to the HS2 models, but the trade-off is better model movements/manipulations.

I'm discovering so many new games that I would have no chance of coming across. Thank you very much for this thread Brine_Basilisk.

Your au naturel thread is awesome too, but I found myself having to comb through a lot of stuff trying to find MS games. I find this thread much better than the main one, it's more like a repository instead of recommendation and there's a lot of garbage games. I have loved almost all your MS recos, you are certainly a man of culture!

I'll also suggest Imperial Chronicles as one of the best ongoing games currently in terms of story, world-building and amount of choices (can probably have more than 6 play through with completely different story progression every time). The dev is one of the most active, never misses a deadline let alone abandon a game.
