No, just replace every folder and file in your previous version with the new ones from the fresh build. If there is a save folder you just skip that one. After that you can start where you left.

I was wondering the same thing. It's frustrating to be so close to 800 but not be able to get there.
So long as you aren't very short of free disk space, it's probably easier to unzip the new build into a different top-level folder (which is likely to happen by deefault anyway) and then copy across the save folder.

This was done on purpose, so the reward for getting under 800 is reserved for the next update, which is when a certain 'reward' will be 'drawn'. If you know what I mean.
Basically, Alice's sex scene isn't ready yet, so I can't let you get under 800.
I'm glad you want to save her, that means my job as a writer was successful. Unfortunately, this isn't one of those stories where everything goes perfectly and everyone gets a happy ending. You may think me saying that is somewhat ironic, given what happens to Historia, but it's all part of the greater plan.

Honestly? Best way is just to wait for the next update. I wouldn't try to force more content out of the game than it has, you might just burn yourself out on it before the new stuff comes.
I know that it's a little awkward that there's level 30+ content in a version where you only get up to level 14 in the main story, but once the game's all complete it'll flow much better as one coherent whole.

Thank you. Actually I am just going to buy them anyways. they are charming enough and I would like to see the dialog. Plus I don't really need the money due to playing in story mode

I must admit that it hadn't even occurred to me that eating a blessing would be an possible. I assumed that the blessings were worn as jewellery or something like that. Or is eating a specific thing only possible for the combination of Rae and the protagonist blessing?
I have the 5.0.3 version and had played a short(ish) portion of it, how do I put the new updated version in it without accidentally removing my save? And could someone explain it step by step? I have it on Windows if that helps.

The easiest way is to extract the updated version to a different folder - which IIRC is what happens by default anyway - and then copy the save folder across. But even if you extract to the same folder, I don't think you need worry, as there shouldn't be any save files with the same name as existing ones.

I followed those instructions, game is a little slow (probably nothing too serious), but not too bad, and it has registered my save from the previous version.
