If by comfortable work/life balance you mean one scene every month then damn, I guess we're the ones who are responsible for allowing dev to just put absolutely minimal work and walk away with it. Also the city content has been promised for more than 2 years ago and we barely got any update on it, even though the dev said that it would be the main focus.I've got on Threshold's back about his turn-out, and he's explained that it was a constant cycle of going ham on content, burning out, taking a break, repeat. Honestly, as someone who has issues pacing himself on a job, I empathize with the mentality of not wanting to do that constantly. I wouldn't say this is an issue of milking supporters so much as it is about a) finding a comfortable work/life balance, and b) finding a safe equilibrium between main progression and character/side content.
I guess im just disappointed to see such a good game falling into the endless drag of zero story update for almost a year or two now. I used to play this game a crap ton and the story writing and world building was top notch, every characters felt passionately developed and written, and I was curious too see how the story was gonna go and what characters we can meet in the new area, but instead we just going back to add more scene for old character (which i dont mind but should it really be the focus?) and feels like we barely enter the city even though its out for like a year by now.
