I don't disagree with this btw, but the fact that you wrote, that the definition was basically in "flux" from your earlier statement sounds to me like you don't think there's a consensus on the definitions.
i don't think it's that there's "no consensus". i think that there are multiple consensuses by multiple people, and as time goes on, they'll shift. whether new or old, they'll sprout up, die out, be remembered, be forgotten, and all of that stuff. but no matter what they do, they'll never be the exact same forever, because that just isn't how language works.
Literally any slightly friendly LGBT spaces I've been in like E621 communities, or the BeatBanger discord, or wtv, would no-brain give the same definition TheUnsaid and I did.
Just because subs on the internet are the most terminally online and annoying people on the planet and want to be called bottoms even though they won't take it up the ass doesn't change that.

the answer is that neither of you are wrong, and neither of you are right, because it's entirely subjective. words are subjective, language is subjective,

i'm not trying to deny your experiences or anything here, but the thing is, i'm speaking on
my experiences. those can't be denied either. as i said,
