That being said, I'm curious what everyone's favorite characters are in the game after the new update.
Favorite in what way? Cus I really like Sophia, Kotone, Ushris and Venefica in how they are written, things they tell you about themselves and the world, despite the thought of romantic involvement with either of them being horrifying and I wouldn't touch Sophia or Kotone with a 10 foot holy relic. Still really want to be friends with them though.
And as in "which girl do you not only find interesting but also would enjoy getting involved with" it'd probably be Mika or to a lesser extent Trish, Nara or Gren who know what they want and aren't shy about it but also have other stuff going on (mostly)
Oh and Petua cus she's so adorable and clumsy yet very driven and responsible

Trisha actually has really enticing senarios. If anything, I'd like to see more art on her event, namely her blowjobs (which was why I asked if art donations were possible).

Beris, Green Slime and Mizuko are close seconds.

Doesn't sound like a bottom's pick... none of them put anything in your ass. You're definitely a sub though.

If you said Jora or Blue Slime, I'd have agreed with you on the being a bottom thing.
I do not see the connection between being a bottom and like having things put in your ass.

Anyway picking my favorite characters is hard but off the top of my head I am thinking of Mika, Ushris, Mari from the butterfly mod, Sofia and Kotone.

the meaning of "top" and "bottom" are different between different people, effectively. to some it's just position, to some it's who's more dominant and who's more submissive, and to some it's who's "giving" and who's "receiving". so while being the bottom may mean getting dommed to one person, it could mean taking it up the ass to the next person.

Top and bottom come from the gay community.

Sub and Dom existed before, but when gay people wanted to talk about their sexual experience, they struggled to actually articulate it well.

Bottoms can be dominant. Like girls who like cowgirl.
Tops can be submissive. Like guys who insert doggy but like seeing the girl shake her ass.

They have clear definitions tho...

Problem is that people saw gay communities say Top and Bottom which relates to their sexuality in a unique way, and wanted to use those words so they started using top and bottom as replacements for sub and dom. I can't express enough how dumb that is.

Gay language honestly got co-opted and ruined the nuance of the language.

Even though the words are super useful!!!

Hetero couple, male is bottom, female is top, male is submissive, female is dom. (in your head you should be seeing a girl pegging a guy)
Hetero couple, male is top, female is bottom, male is submissive, female is dom. (in your head you should be seeing some form of cowgirl, or femdom missionary or even femdom doggy.)

lesbian couple, girl 1 is bottom, girl 2 is bottom, both are doms. (no one's getting inserted so scissoring.)
etc etc.

Honestly... gay dudes were really cooking with the addition to the language, cause it's a way to describe sexuality w/o getting into positions.

I'm big on femdom for instance but I don't like assplay or anything, and I distinctly remember being 18 looking for femdom on porn sites just to get a bunch of girls in latex pegging dudes. Like no, that's not my sexuality. I knew even then, I didn't like that shit. With this new language though, I could articulate what I liked.

okay, that's awesome and all, but that still doesn't change what i said or make it any less true. i say all this because these are the various ways of how i've seen it used, and to the people who've used it whatever way they used it, that's their definition of it.

language changes and evolves over time according to the manners in which people use it. "original" definitions, if any definition of any word can even be called original, are eventually going to be lost, regained, and lost again. that's just how it is.

I don't disagree with this btw, but the fact that you wrote, that the definition was basically in "flux"

from your earlier statement sounds to me like you don't think there's a consensus on the definitions.

Literally any slightly friendly LGBT spaces I've been in like E621 communities, or the BeatBanger discord, or wtv, would no-brain give the same definition TheUnsaid and I did.

Just because subs on the internet are the most terminally online and annoying people on the planet and want to be called bottoms even though they won't take it up the ass doesn't change that.

I remember my favorites were SheepMaid , Succubus Innkeep and Perpetua , did those 3 get any new content? Thanks.

Yes.

Trisha the succubus inkeep got a lot.
Perpetua's got some content, but I don't remember when that got started, so maybe you already saw it.

Ancilla... sort of? I can't say w/o spoiling but there's been a few small changes to the forest dungeon and Ancilla's a part of it so she technically has more content.

Thanks for the reply. Also, can you pls answer one more thing:BootyTime: Back when I played this, I was weirdly obsessed with never losing a fight/suffering defeat ,which prevented me from completing Mimic bag girl quest(forced to spawn back in town if I progress her quest),is there an alternative now? This is my original post - 1 2 . Thanks again.

See the problem here is that when I hear top and bottom I imagine the position during sex. As a result of that when I think of cowgirl I imagine the girl on top (unless I am mixing cowgirl with a very different stance) because she is quite literally on top of the guy.

That also doesn't equate to submissive or dominant though. Cowgirl, for example, could be a dominant female riding her boytoy, or a master laying back and having his slavegirl do all the work.

Yeah nah... words have meaning.
yes, they do. only as much meaning as we agree to give them, but they do. i never said they didn't, and i don't know where you got that from. all i said was that they have different meanings to different people
I don't disagree with this btw, but the fact that you wrote, that the definition was basically in "flux" from your earlier statement sounds to me like you don't think there's a consensus on the definitions.
i don't think it's that there's "no consensus". i think that there are multiple consensuses by multiple people, and as time goes on, they'll shift. whether new or old, they'll sprout up, die out, be remembered, be forgotten, and all of that stuff. but no matter what they do, they'll never be the exact same forever, because that just isn't how language works.
Literally any slightly friendly LGBT spaces I've been in like E621 communities, or the BeatBanger discord, or wtv, would no-brain give the same definition TheUnsaid and I did.

and when did i ever state that it should change your definition, or the definition of the other people you mentioned? the answer is, again, i never said that. you are arguing with a ghost.

just because someone else has a different definition than you, does it automatically make them wrong for not thinking the same as you?
in that case, why aren't you the wrong one for not thinking the same as them?
is it just because more people think like you rather than like them? if there are still people who agree with them, but they're a lesser amount than those who agree with you, does that invalidate those people entirely?

the answer is that neither of you are wrong, and neither of you are right, because it's entirely subjective. words are subjective, language is subjective, this whole post is subjective.

i'm not trying to deny your experiences or anything here, but the thing is, i'm speaking on my experiences. those can't be denied either. as i said,
these are the various ways of how i've seen it used, and to the people who've used it whatever way they used it, that's their definition of it.

and as an afterword:
subs on the internet are the most terminally online and annoying people on the planet
as a sub who is on the internet, the truth hurts sometimes and you don't always need to say it
though unlike the aforementioned "subs on the internet" i AM somewhat interested in anal stuff. but i don't think anyone is here specifically to hear about my kinks nor my sexual experiences, so... i don't think we need to go into detail on that.
