Development Log – September 14, 2025
Hello everyone, it’s been a while. I apologize that every greeting ends up starting with “it’s been a while.”
I have received requests to share more updates on the development progress.
As you’ve pointed out, it is careless of me to have accepted your support while neglecting to provide updates. I sincerely regret this and will do my best to improve moving forward.

The main reason for the lack of updates is twofold. First, as I have mentioned before, I wanted to keep information releases to a minimum so that players could enjoy surprises when they actually play the game. Second, after a certain incident, I have been keeping my distance from online communities and content on the internet. As a result, I became absorbed solely in development work, neglected everything else, and before I realized it, many days had passed without any communication.

From now on, I will make a conscious effort to share updates on the development process while still keeping enough surprises for when you play the game. (Depending on the situation, these may sometimes be closer to simple “I’m still alive” updates rather than new information.)

This time, I would like to share four updates regarding the Bestiary RPG.
Starting with a smaller one:


Since SubscribeStar does not allow images or videos to be inserted within the text, I have attached them as files in order.

1.Here is the menu screen that will be adopted in the new version.
In addition to the menu, we’ve made various improvements to the user interface as a whole.


2.Since some players felt the existing sex system was too lengthy, we’ve added an option in the bedroom scenes after a character joins your party. You will be able to choose between a long, drawn-out intimate scene, or a quicker release if the partner begs for it. Many such small refinements have been made to previously existing systems.

3.Next is something I had originally wanted to keep hidden until the next version. The following video shows the first encounter with an Imp. Many of you may have played this scene in the trial version, but there are major changes this time.

4.And of course, characters will move during H-scenes as well.

Oh shiiiiiiit! Actual voice acting and animation is crazy! That's definitely a big bump in the scale of the game.

But on the other hand - I'm kinda conflicted about this. Gonna hope against the odds that the game has an option to disable these things... because I'd rather just imagine a voice for my wives instead, and I'd definitely prefer a single detailed image over a three frame animation lol.

Also, confirmed Weresheep is huge. A very good pick from KC. Her vibe seems a bit different than expected though.

I like the voice acting, that being said, the low frame movement hurts my eyes.

I would honestly the characters not move at all, if the animation is going to look so... sauceless? Really hoping for an option to disable them.

I think the animation is fine it feels stylized....until you look at the sex scenes atp, I'd just keep it to just the battle intro

Maybe I'm wrong but the animations are probably unfinished. It wouldn't surprise me if KC taught himself how to animate just for this project.

Also from what it looks like, the VOs are likely going to be just the MGs saying a set number of phases (probably unique to each MG) rather than full-blown dialogue (but then again who knows for story related stuff) so I don't think that would be as much work as it would seem.

Animation's honestly kind of stiff, but I understand wanting to limit the framerate.
KC's a quality hog after all.

The way he chose to animate it though is interesting. Remember, in the original demo, the girl would only move with her attack motions during her turn. The way the camera shifted up and down was a way for KC to express his eroticism, and that's still a part of the game.

Also it's going to be clearly non-dom instead of femdom.

Since the guy's thrusting into the woman just as much as she's thrusting, the feeling is more akin to non-dom rather than femdom which is a different sexual feeling than what I originally had in the demo playing the game. I can understand why he didn't share Imp's sex animation if that's the case. Her pose is weird and you can't tell if it's missionary or cowgirl. If it's animated, he'll have to "decide." Schrodinger's sex position lol.

It's kind of nice that KC's finally committing to his sexual preferences by expressing himself in this game. Definitely interested in how the animations and voice acting will affect gameplay.

Have to agree that the animation looks worse than no animation. Other than that, thanks Hdhdh for posting this.

It's just giving you a clear insight on what Kenkou wants. KC wanted people to imagine non-dom or wtv when he made the still image but couldn't express that with just a singular image.

We used our imaginations with our desires for the motion of course, but if that's different than what KC showed when he animated, does that make it worse than the stills?

Why does that make it worse?

On top of him deciding how exactly your sex life works in a game about finding your own waifus? Because bad animation is worse than no animation. In the same way most anime adaptations never look as good as the manga they're adapting, cheap animation can't hope to stand against against the simplicity and impact of one single, highly-detailed drawing. On top of choppy animation just naturally turning some people away, it also takes away the ambiguity of the scene, as TheUnsaid pointed out. All the positions were intentionally drawn in a way that could be interpreted as either the girl fucking you, or you fucking her, or a mix. But if she's animated to always be moving her hips, while you aren't, then the player effectively loses their only grounds to interpret it as themselves being dominant (because the girl themselves sure as hell aren't the sub by default lol). So now the scenes have gone from being two-way, to one-way, which is a downgrade.

And that's not even addressing the elephant in the room: with the girl's poses being upgraded to three-frame animations, that effectively triples the amount of art KC has to draw. That's triple the amount of time spent on adding this contentious feature, time that could instead be used to add entirely new species or even just give existing girls an extra sex-pose. You definitely have to wonder if the trade-off is worth it in the end, assuming KC doesn't end up snapping under the increased workload long before the game ever releases.

The man's very ambitious and this is his passion project, but biting off more than you can chew has time and time again proved to be the undoing of creators in general, especially porn creators.

I doubt it's exactly triple but planning animations instead of adding animations later is a really weird choice given the current pace.

You can argue it's done when it's done but at the rate that's going there is always going to a be a new tech to delay for. Full Dive VR like in sword art online, for example. there's no point in arguing you don't want to release a sub par product when it causes you to release no product.

No you got it backwards. I was worried about the scenes going from one-way in some circumstances to two-way.

Originally it felt to me in the demo that werecat was just straight up fucking you, and especially in the Love 100 scene. The new animation now does not feel like that. The idea that she "fucks you into unconsciousness" is kinda moot now since apparently the MC's more proactive.

This obviously goes both ways since Imp's "rape play" won't feel like it if imp gets to move too.

Yes, because that is the context for the scene. That is 100% the expected "monster girl goes crazy and tops you until you black out" part that the femdom sluts want. Werecat's sex pose in particular is very definitely meant to look as if she's on top of you, and that's only made clearer with the new animation having her pumping her hips during.

The problem is... she's not 100% a dom character.

The scenes you get after you've named her and officially made her your waifu are a lot less combative, because now you're a couple and it's not longer a "fight". They very explicity give you the room to take a more proactive, even dominant role. This new animation... doesn't really seem to reflect that. The Werecat's definitely moving, but I'm not totally sure on the guy's end. This makes it seem like Werecat is the one initiating and domming in every sex scene, and that's fine if you're a little femdom slut who only wants to be topped by monster girls... but it ain't what I want. I specifically liked this game because it seemed like I could avoid that for once.

So at least for now, it seems in Werecat's case that the animation takes away from her sex scenes and portrays them universally as one-way. Which is lame. The way these scenes were written made it clear there was room for however you wanted them to go down, but the animation doesn't seem to accurately portray that and I find that a drawback.

I'm really sour on the whole thing because putting aside the subsequent higher workload that comes with animating, I felt like the way these scenes were "animated" was already super good. Just the way the cg was shifted to simulate riding, grinding, and thrusting and such gave each sex scene a ton of personality, way more than you'd expect. It was a super good result for how simple and easy an effect it was, and now it'll seemingly be tossed for an expensive method whose results aren't nearly as good. What a waste.
