Hmm think I might end up pledging to silver tier again ... was a patron for a while but cancelled because I just wasn't playing the game but kinda tempted to jump back in. Think the last time I played was like a year or two ago so I imagine there is tons of new stuff lol.

So I noticed a Centaur in the changelog, I have one important question. Is the Centaur accurate downstairs like the Harpy girl was? I hope so

She is, yes. We try to be animal accurate if said animal body is used, of course with certain levels of leeway.

Damn, a year or two. Tons of new stuff for sure. Multiple new map areas, multiple new monsters, new story missions, new barn events, etc etc etc. I average something around 45-55 events a year, give or take. I try to add at least one event per week of dev time, even if we are trying to add story or area additions.

without proton or wine?
Yes it does, but the market share doesn't justify it for a small creator like myself when there is already a perfectly valid workaround. It might seem like some small effort on my part to just do it, but I can assure it there is more to it then just check the box and export.

Long story that boils down to Unity refuses to let me export for it. There's also the issue of bug fixing for OS I don't have access too, which is why I haven't really pursued an easier fix than starting a new project and porting it all over to a new Unity version.
As you can see, there still is no Linux build. Save your money and support a dev that supports Linux instead. There are other games out there with Linux builds.

The BS answer the dev gave is a red flag.

I'd say its fairly obvious you're rather passionate about Linux and how we don't build for it considering you seem to have read the entire thread to find some of the few instances where I've addressed it (page 40 and page 64 from your quotes)
I get it, you want it on Linux. Doesn't make it a BS answer or a red flag.
Not every dev is going to export to every OS, and they all have their own reasons. Mine is that I just don't see the cost matching up to the benefit.

Anyone have the issue where there is no quest update/prompt for "Riddle Me This!"? I went to Blowingrock Biggys but nothing updates or is selectable in it.

I'm usually for devs, especially given the amount of toxic and entitled people here attacking them.

You however, have given different excuses on why there is no Linux versions. First you say it's due to market share which is BS, because more game developers release builds that work on Linux. It's not like your paying to host it on itchio either. Second, you make up an excuse that Unity doesn't let you export to Linux. Like really, which one is it?

Since I don't expect a truthful answer from you, I will no longer ask about a Linux build.

Driveby posting here since I haven't actually downloaded this game (yet).

Really there's no reason for the dev to support a completely different OS if there's no incentive to do so, especially Linux in particular.
It takes time and effort (+ possible money, depending on licensing and such) to get the game ported, then the game would have to be maintained for it and possibly have trouble with various Linux distros not supporting the game, and even if the dev HAD done all this, there'd be like 10 Linux downloads total. Linux-native games just aren't high in demand.

Heck, look at Steam's survey results:
Windows is ~97% of the userbase, Linux doesn't even make up 2% despite the Steam Deck being a Linux-based system.
It's cool when devs go out of their way to support other OSes, but realistically I don't understand why any do.

Sorry about that, that section needs reworded a bit. You dont find the item there, and mc says 'we best keep looking at other stores, so head around to other stores and look. Exact location ->

Those aren't different reasons, they are the same, just said differently. Even if they were, multiple things can be true at the same time. Or maybe you want to view them as different reason that come together. Where I sit in all this, I view them as part of the whole equation.

Quoting my old posts
1 - Market share doesn't justify it ... Not as simple as clicking a button. No small amount of work.
2 - I don't have the option to export to Linux, and the only option I know of is to literally recreate the project within a fixed version, as I've found no other potential fixes.

So lets put that together. The cost of starting up Linux builds is possibly long and fruitless research into other options or recreating the whole project, plus maintenance after that. True bug fixing (since this isn't a VN) means I would also have to partition my drive to get a separate OS and learn a new OS, a Linux OS at that. There are also programs that already work to play windows games on Linux.
So, if there's a large market share of Linux, that would be worth it right. But there's not. 1% of the steam market, and probably even less than that here playing porn games is no where near a large enough benefit to justify those costs.

And since you're out here just flat out calling me a liar, here's some receipts to all of it.
1 - KL-001-A's link to steam survey on how little people play games. Thanks for saving me the trouble of digging it out.
2 - My unity build, with windows as the only option.
