Let me break it down for you, Mark. F95zone advertises itself as a piracy site with the suggestion that if you enjoy a developer's content, you should consider supporting them financially. It's akin to how modern youtubers incorporate patreon and ad revenue. If someone likes your content enough to invest, they will do so. But, if you paywall content and demand more money for what was advertised, then you're just being a piece of shit and people will understandably react negatively.
Whatever existing community exists elsewhere shouldn't factor into a developer's decision to make content available for the sake of gaining traction. It's up to that developer if they want to make a free version exclusive to people who pay. That said, no community is so tight-knit that someone won't inevitably leak content to outsiders. The only reason to not get ahead of a potential leak is a) concerns over content that is yet unfinished, or b) greed. With AAA devs, their concerns over unfinished content makes sense. Here, where developers come to gain traction and get their project funded, it's greed.
Never say never, because then you look stupid. Two, you're basically refusing to provide porn to a porn site. You realize how retarded you sound right now? Even those crappy Korean "porn" games with no real porn that get posted every now and then aren't so brazen as to say "nah fam, I ain't posting the actual content." I can forgive those devs cause no amount of possible patreon bucks is worth running afoul of local law, and they at least keep their content open source enough for others to implement NSFW content.

They don't keep up with recent drama, or pretend it doesn't apply to them, and all their retard sycophants are readily available to insulate them from criticism. Unfortunately for them, the internet tends to remember things. Such as when a certain game company tried to make a certain popular game exclusively available to their hosting platform and found itself very quickly reversing course for fearing of losing money. Funny how idiots like the dev think they're immune from AAA criticism because they're not AAA.
Most other indie devs would see that situation and say to themselves "Yeah, let's not be that stupid."

I have also said many times that I am not stingy...but now is not the time to share.
Early patreon had target systems.
Promise what everyone will get when the number of sponsors reaches a certain number.
Even though it has been removed, I am still following through on the promise I made back then.
It’s just...that it hasn’t been up to par.
I'm just draining my health right now making games in response to people sponsoring me.
I even need to save sponsorship fees for several months to be able to pay a commission.
I don’t understand, why do people always care so much about an author who doesn’t have 400 sponsors?
Asking me to do the same thing as those who have a hundred times more resources than I do.

That often happens when a group of people or a single person fail to draw the parallels between event and their situation.
I'm curious what your qualifying factors on that topic are, since there are in-development projects current that are hosted here, and whose updates are even provided by the developer themselves. I'm not calling you stingy. I'm simply stating not providing the content that would generally accompany a thread on this forum is counter-productive.

Current patreon absolves you of those obligations because both devs and the patreon staff realized what AAA realized long ago (and has ironically forgotten), which is no project is ever "on schedule." If a project has a perfect development cycle, the game will be garbage or the devs were already working on it well before any demo or release date announcement. The issue isn't you locking more recent updates behind a paywall. It's you refusing to release the advertised content behind a paywall and creating a version with less content with the expectation (and yes, you do expect it) that people will simply roll over. That is not how it works. You are making a porn game. This is the kind of stupid strategy that would be like a restaurant offering free pancakes and then charging a $5 for syrup. People would be rightfully pissed and less likely to frequent that restaurant.
First and foremost, people have grown so apathetic to these pathetic sob stories that it's now a red flag when a dev starts crying about expenses. Why didn't you factor commissions and personal expenses into your patreon, or even into your project? Why is it the task of potential supporters to pay your bills for you? We didn't ask you to make a game. It is appreciated that you are giving an effort, and from what I can see, you're doing a great job. But, that doesn't mean that we are required to support you. In fact, now, attempting this childish manipulation tactic, you've actually emboldened the people who want the NSFW version to do whatever they can to acquire it, just to piss on you. You actually made yourself less sympathetic.
I personally plan to support Devils Office and the peeps translating his game at the end of the month. I can acquire the game and patch for free on here, sure. But, I like what I've seen so far and want to provide support for people creating content I enjoy. That's the relationship they have offered, and which I gladly accept. I'm sure I would support you, too, if I had faith that my patreon bucks were going towards a good project with a sincere, reliable dev who respected their audience. As it is now, all I see is

As #589 said, there are still games that you will play.
This may be the best option right now.

While I agree that NinjaNamedBob is being rude in his wording, I also agree that posting a version without sex scenes to a website like this is a bit counterproductive. I'd argue that a better process would be to keep two separate releases that both have sex scenes, but just keep the free version behind on some content to be released in a later free version. In theory, this method should appease most people who have the same issues with your separate releases that NinjaNamedBob does while giving you a larger degree of breathing room to develop more content between releases.
Then again it is your game, so you should develop it as you please.

There are numerous scattered scenes available for download...they are all scenes in the game.
So when you have those scenes and the PURE version. It means that you already own more than 90% of the game content.
You have more than you think.
I will consider these suggestions.
The current situation is not final.
For example:
The boobs were an experiment.
I maxed it out, but that's not what it looks like in the game.
After skinning, it will be squeezed to give a heavy-weight feel.
So the final effect will be smaller than what you see now.
Of course...I can't guarantee you'll be happy with the end result, but it will be better than it is now.

Ah, I see. Sorry, I just recently saw this game and didn't know that as the previous posts from others made it seem like there were no sex scenes in the free version of the game. If the previously paywalled sex scenes are eventually released for free then I don't see much of a reason to complain about having a separate patreon release.
