The only cost that can be sunk is time but they themselves said they willing dumped 200+ hours into a game they weren’t enjoying. Sounds more like they are trying to blame anything but themselves.
Wouldn't that playtime reinforce his viewpoint? It doesn't seem like he's passing the blame around, it looks like he's expressing his disappointment that the story ultimately fell short of his expectations. The entirety of Paradox is a massive time-sink, no one on this forum is going to take a review from anyone with less than probably a hundred hours seriously, because you can't actually complete all three parts and review it at a level that people would be satisfied with because you likely haven't seen all there is to see up to that point.

And lots of people had expectations for a story that pays off the expectations set by Parts 1 and 2. By that point, it wouldn't surprise me if the average number of hours played by most people exceeded a hundred before going into Part 3. 200+ hours aren't just automatically wasted as they are being accumulated over the course of the gameplay, they are wasted when what the player hopes for in terms of a pay off by the conclusion doesn't satisfy them. Part 3 could have just as easily made those 200 hours worth it were the writing different, but how that turns out is going to be different for each person.

To be fair with the guy, the game does have some obvious plotholes, and the long wait combined with terrible gameplay are a good recipe to make said plotholes a lot more blatant. Could have voiced said complaints in a better tone, sure, but there are some very negative aspects to this game when compared to the previous two. I want to finish the last route before making a review myself, I'm just missing the bloat third route now.

I'm only looking forward to it because of what I found in the pictures folder.
It was mostly the way they try to justify it that I found issue with. I alright know that paradox just isn’t gonna not me the way the original did but I’m still invested in the characters and wanna see how the new timeline effects them. I did expect plothole because of how long it has taken and to me, it feels inline with how the chaos aspect.

If part 3 was so disastrously bad that is invalidated parts 1 and 2 in their eyes then it still is a review not worth putting any stock in.

Chaos route is clearly the best content of this part 3 in my opinion. You stop being on railroad and it's more like a zelda where you know there is a last boss but you can explore with your bird and find content.
Of course at the end of the day there is a check point for the story to progress, but if you forget the seizure inducing corrupted map with 1 square space between 2 walls to explore and the mega power creep of the fight (that you can skip by using low diff and the new cheat item that you get in 3.02), the content is pretty cool.

I don't know what to tell you, Part 3's of anything can be that disastrously bad for the rest of a property. Plenty of examples in other media of that being the case, no reason for Paradox to be an exception to that for some people.

Well guess you are just the type who get hung up on the bad and none of the good matters anymore.

So do you need the ruler ruler that bad for chaos route?

Or grind/optimise your team and save before oppening any chest because of mimics. Even in easy difficulty. I had a full team of cheated compagnons with full +50% main stats and I got rekt by the first mimic I met. The stats bloat in chaos route is clearly a bad thing as a way to increase the time the player need to spend to progress.
Again the system is not balanced but the idea is pretty cool. And they corrected some of the problem with the new item so it's ok.

I’m guessing that is why all the part 3 gear has slots. Are the monster/angel routes better balanced?

Yes much more

In both routes the game at least gives you a path to follow, in the chaos route there is no path so you easily get into places you shouldn't go xd

I dont get the "terrible gameplay" part... how it is "terrible"? The game offer a ton of races, jobs, skills, weapons, armors, gems to power-up your party and you are really forced to keep upgrading your gear in chaos route since the power spike skyrocket very fast. I know this is not for everyone (and thats why TRTR add the cheat item to reduce all enemy hp to 1), but thats dont mean the gameplay is terrible, is just a very deep RPG.

Gems are the most important part of your gear, some of the late game gems can increase your stats by 100-300%, also increase damage on any race and with any skill type. There is also gems to have multiple actions every turn.

But most people just ignore all this and think the balance is broken because they cant defeat the bosses of chaos route lol.

It's bugged

Edit: post the save to give you the item or give it yourself via Mtool
Awwww. I can get the item from one of the saves thanks. That said there is no way to play the event then ? Do I have to go back and download the 2.4 version and pass my saves there ? Any idea where i can get the old version of the game ?

Looking at the chaos route stats really made me think the game expected you to have made it to the deep LoC and be competent there.

I'm an easy going guy so part 3 to me a pretty much more enjoyable, after went through the heart wrenching 2 paths. The only complain I could say about Chaos route is that if you aren't an adventurer that like to checking every area on the map you can miss out some quests (like I stumped upon Granberia quest by luck because I decide to sleep on the bed in the ruined town because my party's are low on HP, I didn't even know it will trigger the event) or accidently go into a fight with enemies that above your weight class and got KO by them
The after ending....yeah, it's pretty silly but heeeyyy it's a porn game so I just roll with it and have fun while waiting for 3.03 to come out (hopefully within this month, would be a great christmas's gift every)

That is my biggest concern as someone who want to recruit everyone. The wiki isn’t getting updated for who knows how long and without a list on where and how to recruit characters is gonna suck.

Guiding you on the route of chaos is complicated without a guide you end up getting into places where you shouldn't, like I said, for example I killed the dimensional invader and Magatsu before the singularity XD

Not really, Loc equip is useless until you complete the true ending... All you need to do is keep upgrading your gear while upgrading the forge (aka collecting blacksmiths) and keep upgrading your gems.

But people just want to go rambo with shop equip and no gems, and then cry about the balance of the game.
