people here are just used to getting access to games for nothing. having to pay *anything* is a stretch for some.

the cost *is*high.. but as a long-term fan.. and even a beta tester helping out the dev... it's something I'm going to actually pay for. YEARS of work... great game... I think he deserves it (personally).
While that may be true for some, in my opinion it might not be worth the price. Especially coming from the itch version which has been out for a while. There isn't that much more exciting new things which have been implemented from what was in the demo. To me it needed more time, some stuff feel incomplete(the slut bar still does nothing and a lot of the scenes with monsters, especially the boss game overs feel I guess like there should be more). I'm not very good with explaining so hope this makes at least some sense

Also waiting for an update, and supposedly version 1.0.3 has a game breaking bug, that happens near the beginning of the game, which has supposedly been fixed in 1.0.4

Game already got a 1.0.5 version as we speak.

The 1.0.3 ver was uploaded from other piracy sites. Those sites almost never update.
Hope someone can share the latest version...

I think everyone here has missed something regarding the price. I think its deliberately high to keep Patreon supporters happy, as if you committed $35 over the lifetime of the games six year development cycle it's free. I think the creator therefore decided that was the minimum Patreon spend to get the game and then decided the Steam price accordingly.

Do I think that was a good idea? No. But it makes sense in the context of this really being a reward for Patreon supporters rather than actually trying to sell the game.

At least thats all I've got to try to explain the really high price.

As good reason as any other, but I spent $19.99 on Femboy Burgers and it has maybe a quarter of the content of Monster Souls. But then I was trying to support the game, and thought the game was funny as well. If one can spend the day playing Monster Souls and not be seeing the same content, then $35 isn't bad. As to cheaper games like this on Steam, likely I would give them a pass because they're so cheap. Not talking about the ones on sale, but say the $9.99 just released darlings that seem to hit all my buttons. Sorry, I would either expect a very short game or some hacker's side hustle.

Having just looked into Steam's selection of "PORN" games, $35 isn't that unreasonable when you add Steam's own cut of 30% on the price. As to hentai games (non-Steam sites), I'm seeing a lot over your price of dream $15 and not surprised because of the hours required to create them. Just from a Google search, I get 3 to 6 months to create even a small scale solo project. Which going off your price, the creator would make more back in 1938 with the federal minimum wage at 25 cents per hour.
Yeah, I see them too. Doesn't mean, they are not braindead. There is huge difference between setting the price - and getting profits from that price. Shit-obsidian set 70$ for their abobo shit. Did it help them? Nope. 349 players 24-hour peak - SUGGSESS
There is even bigger difference between making a profit - and establishing a wide community who will buy you next project.
Subverse from Studio Fow set their price to 40$. Where they are now? Right in the dumpster with 124 players 24-hour peak. With 55% rating. That is total failure. An now if they try to do next game, and make same shit I just won't buy it. Because I saw what they did with subverse.

And now I see this alternatively brilliant dev, who released unfinished project as 1.0.0 (which I was expecting when he announced his speedhack to release) - and set stupidly high price to pet his patreon followers. So as steam buyer all I can say - go play with your followers then, clown. Even though this project have some interesting ideas.

Even if devs see their shit as most brilliant shit in the worls, steam charts still says most profit is generated by cheaper projects - just beacause of sheer NUMBER of buyers. Sorry, math don't give a shit about petting the followers.

TLDR:
And to those, who cant read too much letters:
There is Larian with BG3, which could be bought for 35$ on sales. So - сan this project be even remotely comparable to Baldurs 3 ? No and it is obviuos. Then why the fuck it have the same price? Steam is NOT patreon, there is TONS of games there and to compete with them things needs to be done differently. From what I see, he failed.
-------------
UPD
Even Carnal Instinct has lower price! Oh so hero has 10$ pricetag! Maaaan, he is indeed dumb asf, not checking even [somehow]direct competitors prices. Typical petreon "there is no one around" syndrome. Won't wish him good luck with it. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes, as they say.

It's normal to start in the Aqueducts. Not sure about the error message though but the early versions (I think before 1.05) have loads of bugs.

I've ended up so far sinking a bunch of time into the game this weekend (got a steam key from Patreon) and I can definitely say that it's absolutely not worth $35. You can clearly tell it was rushed out through lots of obvious tells.

These are like random NPCs that have clearly had a lot of time spent on their creation basically doing nothing, lots of out-of-place dialogue referencing outdated lines, a complete lack of navigational help, weirdly truncated storylines and so on.

I'm not just saying this by the way, the creator over the past few months has admitted they had to cut out a lot of stuff to meet their new release date. But still, for $35 they should have taken a bit longer to get it right.

Though its amazing to have a full release, (even if lacking) of literally anything in this genre, so let's celebrate that. And for what its worth I am enjoying the game and despite what I'm saying for this to be made as a solo project is very impressive, just a bit pricey.

It did seem a bit red flaggy to me when they released the demo with a sizable town to explore with nothing in it. Definitely feels like someone who fell hard to scope creep.

Although, I do wonder if the storyline weirdness is from rushing or if it's just how the dev writes. I remember even stuff from the demo feeling a bit off. The guy who confesses his love for you half a zone after you meet him felt like a blast of cold water to the face.

Although I am curious as to how much more than the demo there is.

I haven't played this last version yet. But this dev did a good job for quite a while. I just bought it on Steam. I think he's one of the indies worth supporting.

Wow so this game just get finished out of nowhere?
Only bugfixes and some QoL features waiting to be added?

Rly shows competent devs are always able to put out finished good game (that's not AI slop / assets flip).
Wonder if they already planning their next game, or this game still has tons of work need to be done?

Thanks to the Australian Karens, the dev had to release the game ahead of schedule.
He barely managed to conclude the main content.

And due to the new times, this is a game that could be removed from Steam at any moment (due to its dubcon content).

I think it's a bit naive to suggest that he should add more content to the game. (straight or not)
