Playing through Shadows of Ambition rn, it's good but not even close to Moonripple Lake. Man this game is just another level, it seems really nothing comes close in all regards. Heck, face expressions alone put ML above almost all other stuff on the market. But it also has the best 2d animated scenes, the best story, the best writing, the best everything, oh man...

Hahahaha, pretty much! Even though BCG uses the same animator I use for the animations, but I do agree tbh. Moonripple is just on another level entirely, but that's fine. it just shows there's still a lot of things I can do to improve!

Banana nailed it - it really does come down to personal preference. If I had to point to the main reason I lean toward ML, it's because I tend to prefer more "grounded" stories. A few pages back, I actually gave Banana a bit of critique for the first scene with Drago's mom - it felt more like something out of a porn story than erotica to me. Personally, I find that good writing can spark my imagination without needing much of a scene at all. Even something simple can work great - I realized that while playing Rhode's Fortress the other day (what a game! right up until that infamous scene...) That said, I get that not everyone values groundedness as much as I do - you can definitely see that in the reviews for a lot of games around here.Hahahaha, pretty much! I hate idle animations. Not because they can't look good, but because most of the time they are badly optimized. If you need expensive gaming pc to play visual novel... that's quite sad. There are games which have extremely beautiful animations that run smooth like butter, and then there are games where even simple looking animations are choppy as hell. I felt like this update had a lot of animations and it just made me pray the whole time that there would be feature in future to opt out of them. This is just my experience, I may be one of the rare people dealing with this - I wouldn't know.
Other than that... this update had a lot of great stuff. From plot advancement to introduction of new characters/environment, to opening future prospects with jobs and whatnot, and of course stunning visuals and sound design. Cee's freckled butt was sculpted by God of Lust surely...

Chapter 5 didn't work for me, yours is not epic, not passionate and all that, as for me, Chapter 4 turned out much better than Chapter 5, but the game is so good that I'll play it

Hey BananaCreamGames, just want to report that the Linux build of the latest update (0.5), and likely the Android build as well, has a severe memory leak. It occurs whenever an animation starts playing and stops once the scene the animation is playing ends. If multiple animations play at once, the leak compounds. This is especially noticeable in the Ferris-wheel scene with Anon and Cee, and the boat scene with Anon and Suzie. The issue does not appear in the Windows version. I tested that via
Below is a video demonstrating the memory leak in the native Linux version, and one showing that the Windows build is unaffected. I also attached the logs for both versions. Let me know if I can provide any additional info for troubleshooting.

i think it'd be a bit distracting if the girls are voiced. silas sounds great but ai voices always have at least that 1% uncanny valley feeling. the girls are a big part, so there will be more lines and more chances for us to hear that uncanny voice
