Just give BCG some time to do the Android port. He didn't have time to do it before his trip.

Exactly!!!

He'll pull it together like always just give it a minute

Hey BananaCreamGames do you think having the files in a compressed version would help with Android users being able to play it better? Or is that just to help with download/storage space size?

Hey guys I'm back and working on it now. Compressed files help with both performance and space :)

Hey BananaCreamGames, just want to report that the Linux build of the latest update (0.5), and likely the Android build as well, has a severe memory leak. It occurs whenever an animation starts playing and stops once the scene the animation is playing ends. If multiple animations play at once, the leak compounds. This is especially noticeable in the Ferris-wheel scene with Anon and Cee, and the boat scene with Anon and Suzie. The issue does not appear in the Windows version. I tested that via , and while the Windows build still uses a fair amount of RAM during animations, it doesn’t leak memory. If I were to take a guess, it seems the problems may be with Ren’Py itself or with whatever library/dependency is handling the animations.

Below is a video demonstrating the memory leak in the native Linux version, and one showing that the Windows build is unaffected. I also attached the logs for both versions. Let me know if I can provide any additional info for troubleshooting.

Hey!Thanks for trying to help! That's so odd. Does this happen on the ferry too, where you're on the boat and the background is moving in a loop under the animations, perhaps?
Or is it only the Cee conditional animations?

you can't actually 'skip' the creepy stuff, because the goal of the creator is to convince you to associate attractive females with mentally ill behavior, and thus thinking about it is just as bad as 'doing it' in the game

That's totally my goal, exactly as you put it.
Thankfully the picture of perfect mental health here has graced us on this porn pirate site :KEK:

Thank you BCG I have faith in you, also for me the boat thing was ok it was mostly on the Ferris wheel area that performance because an issue...like I have previously said I think it's the multilayered moving images that's doing it....is there a way to make the images static for those that would like that? (I wouldn't buy some might)

That's totally my goal, exactly as you put it.

I had an issue on the boat and the Ferris wheel.

Playing through Shadows of Ambition rn, it's good but not even close to Moonripple Lake. Man this game is just another level, it seems really nothing comes close in all regards. Heck, face expressions alone put ML above almost all other stuff on the market. But it also has the best 2d animated scenes, the best story, the best writing, the best everything, oh man...
It 's completely subjective . You just like a more cartoony style. The animations are good, but the plot is no better than in the shadows of ambition. The facial expressions are the same as in other games, just a cartoon style.

weird, id say i prefer the art here because it looks less hyper-stylized like the others which id usually associate with a cartoon look.

I think to be as open-minded as possible, you need to open two images folders and view both folders at the same time. This way you can understand what you really like about the style and angles of the images.

Moonripple is the only AI game I play. I've tried a few of them but none of them work for me either because of the art or the story. Moonripple works for me on all levels.

Well , you see , your opinion can be ignored . You only like one AI game. I wrote that it's subjective. For example, I don't like that my new girlfriend has narratives through different characters (younger sister, etc.)

oh i didnt mean to say one was better expressionwise. Only that SoA and MNGF favor a more stylized comic-book format, with scenes where they'll have overlaid "panels", stuff like that.

MNGF: Pros - Nice art. Cons - Kinetic, BBC slop
SOA: Pros - Nice art. Cons - Kinetic, BBC slop
MRPL: Pros - Nice art, non-kinetic, some semblance of story, not BBC slop (yet). Cons - Performance issues as of last update, dev does cross-promos on Patreon :HideThePain: .

Actually surprised with you since this one still has a bit of an anime-style, which you don't like.

When is the next update? The first AI game I played felt the most engaging.
Literally just dropped, so it's gonna be a while probably.

The memory leak occurs whenever an animation is playing. This includes the ferry scene with Suzie as well as the main menu. The ferris wheel scene with Anon and Cee is just the worst case, since it has more animations running simultaneously, causing RAM usage to spike much more quickly. Below is a screenshot showing the leak occurring on the main menu. It took about 10 minutes for the game to consume enough memory that my system decided to kill it with an OutOfMemory error.
