Should be fixed on the beta branch. I'm finishing up a new Mu Lau / Saffron chunk, but I'll likely do another non-beta build after that; tons of little fixes and tweaks over the last couple of weeks.

Anyone who's a patreon gets a Steam key, then it's just a matter of switching to the Beta branch for updates every 2-3 days.

You HAVE to cheat on the fight with Ubekz. The computer takes 3 moves for every one you get. It's impossible to beat it.
No you don't. I've done no level grinding but beat him first time, wasn't even close. What skills are you using?
I've restarted several times trying different things and I'm about 0 and 20 fighting him. The game is seriously stacked against the players and this is on easy mode!
Sounds like you'll just find the combat game frustrating; there's an option to just skip that, which might be better for you.
In general from getting testing from the awesome guys on Discord it shouldn't be TOO hard, but I'll keep an eye on it as I rebalance stuff with all the new moves that are coming in for the next release.
You are listening to your discord? Those basement dwellers spend 16 hours a day practicing your mini game to feel good about themselves. You can't use them as a representative sample.
Non-jokingly, I probably wouldn't have survived the pandemic lockdowns without the Discord gang. They're awesome, and kept me sane-ish. Them and the dog.

Quick update post on Morningstar; it's behind a paywall (because I can't post titties outside), but the short of it is that my time spent rewriting the combat system and writing porn is over, and I'm back on the main timeline. The beta branch adds a big new Snowdrop questline, where she finally gets to make the porn movie she always wanted.
It also adds a new Saoe questline, which gets a bit rough, and the first threesome of the game with the two cat ladies.
My original plan was to push this out as a public release with just the rewritten combat system and the three questlines, but I got caught up in writing/rendering Act V, and ended up pushing those out directly. On the Steam beta it's now up to day 76, with 77 planned this weekend.
