VN - Ren'Py - Completed - Motherless [v0.23.1.0] [Mr.Mister]

The writing in this isn't very good. The story line really doesn't make much sense, the behavior and reactions of the characters aren't well thought out. Contrary to what some would have people believe both the visual and the novel part are important in a V/N, hence the name. This V/N lacks in both.

Visually it's even worse. The models simply don't look very good and what is up with their oddly shaped butts? At times they look damn near square, sort of boxy and over sized compared to the rest of their body. It's off putting.

The Dev also used those profile pics to denote who is speaking and for some reason those very rarely come out looking good. By now you'd think Devs would realize they're better off forgetting those and just use names to denote speaker.

All in all this V/N turned out to be a disappointment.

To start, story and not bad. Part 1 is not bad, there are a lot of choices, but part 2 is crap (a simple VN). On the sound side, the sound effects are nice at first, but much too repetitive and at times, certain sound should not be there (or in another tone).

Story is nonsence as if written by someone using google translate to make the english version.
Reactions and characters are honestly just plain stupid, lesbians dropping being gay after 15 minutes in the precence of the Mary Sue/Gary Stu protagonist, every female is related to him in some way.

This in essence boils down to being like a bad porn movie where you need to not look too closely at anyones face, story or lines so as to not loose your erection/interest.

Motherless deserves a lot of attention! a nice harem game where there is no tension or disputes , In every other's games, Dev starts to make Mc boring or bad, where for some time they focus on the antagonists, but here Dev keeps Mc in the foreground and walks confidently, Dev has even improved Mc’s attitude and everyone is more attracted to his stories and he always tries to help everyone, I especially like the sound of him saying “WHOO” with joy. . I understand that not everyone likes it when girls hang themselves on the MC right away without a plot, but I hope that in the future new VN we will see how Dev will create the best game in terms of plot and a high-quality harem for the joy of everyone, I give 5 balls!

A LOT of 'content', scenes, and kind of decent renders, but that's about it. I guess not bad for a quick fap.

The characters don't look bad, at least most of them, although the milfs look way too young for their age, how can a woman that looks in her thirties have a son that looks like he's in his thirties is beyond me, but I guess it's a personal preference.

Animation: 4/5 ⭐
This game gets dragged down by how old it is, I replayed the game from the start for the experience and the animations at the start of the game are so bad.
It improves a lot as you keep playing but for some reasons some animations are just way off, can't be explained by the skill of the developer or being old, like you can have two animations in the same scene that have like 3 fps and 30 fps, or different lighting and details, when animation or picture style changes so drastically in a moment it puts me off, takes me out of the immersion and reminds me this is just pixels on my screen, not very nice...

Honestly I think it's more like 3/5 but extra point for actually trying.

Story: 2/5 ⭐
For some reason everyone wants to fuck this dude, and is related to him somehow from either sides of the family or his adoptive family... it's crazy.
You shouldn't play this for the story at all, just enjoy the ride if it clicks some of your fetishes and have fun.

Gameplay: 3/5 ⭐
Typical VN no open world, the UI looks fine and the few choices are very obvious, they pretty much boil down to 'interested' or 'not interested' in the current female, and during sex scenes where you finish/pregnancy or no pregnancy..

Sounds: 3/5 ⭐
Man I wish I can rate this higher so much for actually having sound effects unlike most of the games but I can't, the sounds are just too repetitive, the guy makes the same HU sound when he cums and when he's punching a dude or even when he's taking a shit, the girls moaning sounds are also repeated in multiple scenes, ah well, kudos for actually having sounds, it's not a 0/5...

Overall:
This is slightly above average. I think the dev can already let the dead horse pass away and move to a new game with his acquired skillset, it will probably look a lot better, and they can restart the whole teasing incest taboo thing.

One of my favorite visual novel style projects, it is also consistently updated on a regular basis. Your hard work is recognized and appreciated! The pregnancy storyline and visuals are the, BEST. No other Ren'Py comes close to immersing the player/reader with pregnancy renders/models that actually grow as the story progresses. With my fetish, excuse me, out of the way, the story of having been from a broken family to being in one of the most powerful families in the world is a great fantasy!

This is the second time I'm trying this game. Honestly I'm pretty tolerant of porn game stories and dialogue. You have to be or you would almost never play them in general. This is pretty standard fare. It's weaknesses are made worse though by the weird tweaks someone did to the models to enhance their bodies. You know why men love women's asses? They're nicely shaped and firm looking. These boxed shaped bums look awful. The models in the game look like they would have been decent if they weren't deformed to make them bigger with no regard to the real shape. The lighting is not good either. There is a lot of flat lighting with no shadows which makes them all look plastic at times.

The story is reasonable enough. The idea of going from place to place discovering moms along the way is the perfect setup for all kinds of fun stuff. Again though when the women look like zombie stand-ins with boxy asses and weird tits the story such as it is loses most of it's potential to deliver what it's teasing. If the models had those silly deformations removed and even basically lit with shadows the game would have more appeal.

Anyway I think average is fair enough. Some of this game isn't terrible but the deformations really don't help. The bad lighting adds even more to the poor models but even that isn't consistent as some of the models look ok. Try it if you're bored.

This is probably one of the most nonsensical pieces of media I've ever experienced. Let's go point by point.

Visuals: I don't usually have much to say regarding aesthetics, but this game just looks ugly. The girls are ugly, the way it's rendered is ugly, the excessive use of close-ups and goofy expressions make the already ugly characters even uglier. It's just not a pleasant sight.

Audio: the random sound effects just take me out of it, their use kind of reminds me of a YouTube poop--they're not entirely disconnected with what's on screen but they just come across as "haha funni" humour. There's also music and background noise, but nothing too remarkable on either end.

Writing: it's just dreadful. The plot barely makes any sense and the pacing is so stop-and-go you never really get settled into the story, but the worst is the dialogue. I'm not even sure how to describe it... It's mostly exposition, explaining both the plot and how the characters feel, but it's also sprinkled with weird idioms that I can only guess make sense in the developer's language. The whole thing reads like it was badly written in a different language then machine-translated into English. It's just not how people talk.

Ultimately, I don't think there's any reason to play this game. The girls are ugly, the story makes no sense, and the kinks have all been done better elsewhere.

So basically i want to share my opinion about this game based on the tags.

First of all, i like this game. I started playing it at season 1 and was therefore kinda happy that imo it had frequent updates that were definetly faster then most h-games on f95. If i had to guess, i'd say every 1-2 months? I'm not sure but it felt like it.

Overall it's a good game for me, but
their facial expressions could be better, cause their smile is sometimes creepy,
sex scenes could be smoother (more fps i guess) and changing sex positions would be some nice improvement,
and some LI's should be optional/avoidable like the grandmother (father's mother) for me and not just "forced to fuck".

Was enjoying the VN until maybe halfway through season 2.
At this point it feels like little more than jumping between sex scenes with the occasional italian/cowboy stereotype thrown in.

Edit: The following is about the standalone and not the full game. I'm still following the game but honestly it's not gotten too much better and seems to be making various shit up to keep the story and money flowing at this point

The protagonist is great, all the girls are beautiful and sexy too, the plot got intresting towards end of season 1 so I'm excited for trying season 2. I usually don't like medium hair MCs but the hair suits MC very well. Moon is my favourite girl (she look like Amazon goddess), Dick frustrated me a lot and I'm sad we couldn't deal with him, Castro getting what he deserves is fun and Gaylord...oh god i hate that dude

The renders are mediocre at best, and fuckin weird on average. There's no cohesive story, and the direction is all over the fuckin place. The premise is ridiculous. The dialogue is fuckin nonsense, was written by someone who speaks english as a second language, and there's far too much of it for as little sense as it makes. None of the characters are even remotely believable.

One of my go to sources for when I need to relieve some tension, I'm always left satisfied with this game for some reason. I'm team Valerie all day but others like Gisselle keeps me invested also. The story is decent for the most part and doesn't try to do too much but like I said before Valerie is the star of the show for me. The Dev is one of the hardest working people around I respect that and wish him all the luck the rest of the way.

The beginning is somewhat lame. But it includes plot elements that are necessary to understand the later actions and relationships. What motivates the women and why they need someone like the MC.

I haven't played the whole way through yet. I'm where his birth mother is living with him, and (depending upon your choices) you are doing nearly every girl that appears. And possibility to do those later on.

With the WT patch, you can skip or play the mini games on easy mode. The sex scenes are also mainly skippable. So if there are any women that you don't like, Just don't make the choices that result in sex.

The girls in the game look WAY better than the banner looks. Some are only ok, and others are OUTSTANDING!!! Some are simply gorgeous. Like dolls!
Dev certainly likes large breasts and bottoms. More than my taste, but hey it's free.

Also, he does MANY animations. Not just static frames. This person is highly skilled at graphics. And you can always SPACE through the scenes if you want.

The Dialogue seems to be written by a 15 yr old Russian. I speak Russian and there are many giveaways. His use of a/an/the and many overly formal, or sloppy phrase translations. They MC sounds like a 12 yr old at times, and a University Professor at other scenes.

TL;DR-
Anyway, once you get through the beginning, this turns into GOLD.
Personally, I really like the plot concept. It's unfolding isn't realistic, but it allows you to quickly F all kinds of gorgeous babes.

If you like a silly plot, read the dialogue. If not, just TAB through the speaking, and use the WT patch to make the "correct" choices.

first time reviewing a game, I really like the plot and characters in the game, for how twisted for the plot for the MC and his mother/step mother. Character design also fit me (this will depend on personal likes).

just like the version number and this sites current rating, this VN (a laughably loose term obviously cos this is nowhere near a novel, more a novelty ) is completely convoluted.

there is no real structure to the story telling and the writing is just mind-numbingly bad. it had a certain brainless charm at one point in it's development but that really has worn thin as the project has continued.

if you want a prime example of development that shows a huge lack of it's creators learning from the process, look no further.

convoluted describes this in a nutshell as the MC has an inordinate amount of 'mothers' and other relatives. clearly a fan of incest created this but in a clueless way.

the imagery is sub par for this site and animations are equally poor. a few of the girls look alright but it's about the only redeeming quality to push this UP to a 1 star game for me. with this latest update looking very much like a plug for the next disaster (watch for the next over endowed MC ) making no sense whatsoever to an already nonsensical plot, any charm this had is not only dead and buried but has had the burial plot lease pulled.

i even became less aroused AFTER playing it. sheesh

Lots of hot women, good sex scenes and a good overall story. There was a time when a negative was it moved to sandbox, but that was able to be turned off. The only negative is unavoidable sex with women age 60+. That is called a "sabretooth" - a woman too old or ugly to be considered a cougar. That is frankly gross and should at least be avoidable/able to be turned off.

Sometimes, good ideas can be poorly executed for one reason or another. Mighty No. 9 is a kinda of a fun game... When the game allows you to have fun, because most of the time, no. The level design ruins the good mechanics that the game have, turning a acceptable Mega Man clone into some generic mediocre jump'n shoot experience. You might enjoy it, but not much. This concept can be applied to Motherless, for those TL;DR: Could be better with a tweak or two.

For all of the others: I'll explain WHY Motherless is kinda disappointing.

Story/Porn excuse: You're a guy, who after being adopted once because you're mother couldn't take care of you, then live 10 years on a pedo church because of your asshole adoptive step-dad, and then adopted once again after run away from said church, grow into a fine man who want to find his mother. Then you go to take care of a certain woman in hopes to find her. And then shenanigans happens.

Honestly, it's here that Motherless shines, it's premise. Not only that, but the intertwined nature of all the relationships that exist in the game is interesting.

Writing: That's the weak point of the game. I know that discuss writing in porn is stupid, but as a writer myself, I can't avoid it. It had some tropes that are annoying (girls immediatly wanting to jump on MC's dick being the biggest offender), which is kinda shame, because the characters are interesting, but the writing is pale. With a little moredevelopment in this part, Motherless could be great.

Graphics/Sex: We have a varied cast of Love Interests, from the main girls to the side ones, and I particularly liked the UI on title screen. But the sex scenes aren't on par with other games and the use of animations seems all over the place.

Music: Games with music had some bonus points with me.

Conclusion: Motherless have potential, but the weak writing and ok at best sex scenes let me a little down. And TBH,could be 4 stars if the game had NO animations. 3/5

Pros

• Base story is little interesting and content is lot more.
• Open incest & polyamorous were initially attractive but soon realized as boring. Incest approach with mom has been portraited with little embarrassment was a plus; but soon the same is gone beyond pregnancy was intolerable.
• Excellent quality of image renders.
• Excellent quality of animations.
• Excellent sound effects.
• Playability, performance and grammar are all just OK no issue

Cons

• Unlimited / unrestricted sex by MC is highly fictionalized; doesn’t fit.
• Lack of genuine or more of fictitious for sexuality
• Lack of seductiveness in sexual approach

Summary: Somewhat Entertaining.

Until this game it was hard for me to say that I had a favorite game.
But my god, this is actually number one now.

Before I played it, and as soon as I started playing, I was afraid that the models were too exuberant, unlike most games.
The game seemed to be generic and just another one.

But this game brings several captivating stories all interconnected. And the best, even the villains and the douches, fall fast. And no other guys have action in the game, so you can rest assured that there is no Sharing, Netorare, and such things.

And from what we see, Dev is never going for that, according to his Itch.io.
In the game you can even be with married women, but the husbands are either cool with it, or they are assholes (anyway, I enjoy NETORI (NTI ), so for me it is cool).

And in the game there are a lot of girls, more than 20 probably.
And keep adding more

A few of them don't show up much, but the main ones, 5/6, practically have a lot of time.
