My antivirus kept on throwing errors up on it, got it working and played it last night, now something random happened this afternoon and it's stopped working randomly.

I hate this developer, I'm a patron but I'm def waiting for someone to pirate the game just so I can play it.

Apparently their security system automatically banned you. The same thing happened to me when I tried to modify the game files to understand how the protection works. Just write to their email and tell them you don't know what happened. They will restore access to the game.

About the antivirus, I asked the developers and that's what they wrote:

After numerous hack attempts and heavy server load for the same reason we had to encrypt the executable exe file from decompilation. A software package which performs this operation completely removes the digital signature of an executable file and along with it a part of the code containing information about the file type and its content. Many antiviruses react to this and mark the file as potentially dangerous (some as a trojan, some as a malware object).
In fact, the exe file is completely clean and won't cause any harm to your PC. Moreover, the information exchange system with our server is fully encrypted and we get only numerically lettered user identification.
Starting from 0.18 we will solve this problem.
For now you need to turn off your antimalware system in order to run the game.

I also came to the conclusion that they use a modified QSP engine. I think they even wrote somewhere that it is called LustGEN or something like that. According to my observations, the information received after the connection to the server is loaded into RAM and then executed. But this is only my guess.

The issue is the lack of a working crack, not how the game handle its drm.

Not gonna lie thats some effort they put in to prevent ppl from stealing their work. On the other hand if ppl can crack stuff from Triple A games with big companies behind them in a day i would always advice to ignore any kind of drm. It cost money and time and in the end turns out to be useless anyway.

I think the qsp file for both versions shared here are from version 0.12, because they're missing the code starting from Vika's 4-th quest, which is Jamal's introduction. I assume the online part is, where when you pass the authorization, the game downloads the real qsp file.

They're still trying to crack it, you can use a qsp player to go into the files and play the russian version directly, but people are still trying to crack the eng version so that we dont need the key.
Also I think the dev might have given us an old qsp thats not updated so you cant even do all the quests. So were currently waiting on our boys on the front line to figure out a way.

they even rolled back the version number from .17 back to .16 cause currently we cant play .17 without paying i believe.

There is no 'crack'. The executable is the downloader for the missing QSP files. For the email, you have to be subscribed to his patreon with the email to retrieve the license key before the downloader will download the qsp files. Shouldn't need a 'crack', just need to get the QSP file the downloader is downloading.

There will probably never be a compressed version. It's a QSP game and most are as compressed as they'll get without losing an amazing amount of video quality. I stand corrected there was a compressed version. Might be awhile for that to happen again.
