To be fair, while I also did it for fun, I also really think it's a good sign on how an author/creator wants to tell a story.Same here
No matter how interactive VNs can be, they always have to employ an illusion of choice, because authors still want to tell a story, but also the more diverging paths one implements the more the project spirals out of control.
I was commenting on another VN how I was unhappy of the limited and samey outcomes of choices in that otherwise very interesting story, some argued "but that's because this is the story the author wants to tell", fair enough but one could always insert choices like this one.

Yep specially when they are meant to be fun and funny also like another game I also enjoy a lot for the humor that have choices for death/game over scenes that are for laughs and they always redo to the choice when it ends anyway, every new update I'm always looking for a new one
. It ends up being a trademark of the author/creator on the mood they want to set and how they want to tell the story.

I really like this game but I confess I liked it a lot more before it became Sicae 2.0 and several characters got complete personality changes.
I miss when it was more light-hearted. In fact I would say the title and beginning is now misleading because it sets up certain expectations for the type of game this now is. It makes people expect slice-of-life with some drama but the game is now an ultra-violent thriller/mystery gangster story.
If I had known it would turn into this I probably wouldn't have even started it because I have no interest in games like Sicae.
Just my personal opinion.

Welp... the rest of the game is planned to be light hearted. The game only went dark for Moon's arc. Constant slice of life is boring and already getting boring. Moon's arc was a change of pace. Now you cry for the rest of Chapter 2.
Emma already has a Solo Ending, in case you didn't catch that one.

NiiChan mentioned he was pondering the idea of creating a solo ending for Gwen sometime ago. It'll be up to him if he eventually goes through with it.

I am in no way belittling your choices or saying you aren't telling a quality story even if it has veered away from what I personally like.
I don't think the slice-of-life was boring but everybody has their own opinions right? I do feel the game as listed on the front page is now a bit misleading as to what the game currently is though. With Sicae it's pretty obvious.

yes i found about the solo ending afterwards .... but i didn't played it yet.
I don't have the heart to break up with Gwen lol (she deserves a solo ending too in my opinion)
in the future though im gonna play it once so i can i experience it (though i have spoiled myself somewhat from a pdf Character details/timeline)
ps currently i playing Sicae i also found it extremely good, excellent work.

When i found about the solo path .. i tried to play it but when i reached that scene i stopped Gwen is my favorite so i didn't have the heart to continue .. though someday im gonna play to see it because Gwen and Emma where my choices for solo path (if possible)... but seriously this game is created for harem path Gwen + Emma is a must have , then Aine and Moon too
(personally i have chosen Gwen, Emma , Aine , Moon and Sky as my Lis)
Edit: so i just played the emma solo path .. it was very good (it gave me all kind of different feelings)
But i cant help it and i have the need to comment that Gwen Deserves a solo path too... Gwen is the only other LI together with Emma that deserves a solo ending path.
I know though its not an easy job to create a solo ending so i just can only hope Niichan someday make it.

Didn't you already made us do that with Emma's solo arc.
Frankly I loved the action, gore and the entire past life connection that came with Moon's arc. It was something different from the family melodrama we have seen with other girls. I have no issue if we get to see more of such stuff in future but then again you want to keep the game light so I guess that may not happen.
I have similar favs Moon, Gwen, Emma, Aine but imo its too late for more solo paths. The mc is waaaay too invested in the story and the LI's to just call it quits with one of them at this point.
The emma solo ending felt like the last opportunity to jump ship from the harem storywise imo and even than it was already super rough (esp with gwen).
And Gwen is THE harem/cuck queen anyway
Emma solo path is written very beautifully. i thought it was like some other games which end the game by just showing a couple of scenes, but to my disbelief, it is a masterpiece. The whole emotional story of Emma being a mother is so beautiful and written with a lot of emotional maturity, hats off to the developer. Also, the ending is quite amazing and mysterious.

Hey, everyone!
I'm back with a little announcement.
Alright, I'm putting this out here so everyone knows what's up and where we're heading next.
So, for those who missed it, we held a patron only poll recently to decide which game we should work on next. Honestly, I did it to answer all those voices that were asking—no, scratch that—demanding another Sicae update. And the response was wild. A lot of you showed up, and I couldn't ignore the chance to see Sicae shine even brighter. Well, the poll's closed now, and guess what? Sicae took the win with a solid 10% lead!
Which... yeah, I totally wasn't expecting, considering how insanely popular MBML has been for years now. I mean, was it the story finally picking up steam? The cliffhanger messing with your heads? Or maybe just the dread of having to wait another year for Sicae if we switched to MBML? I still can't put my finger on it, but hey, I'm not complaining. Not gonna lie, I'm hyped too—really hyped—to see where Sicae takes us next.
So here we are: another Sicae update is on the way to wrap up the first main story arc before we switch gears back to MBML. Yup, we're closing out the Gathering of the Forgotten Names series with Episode 7. Just to be crystal clear, this doesn't mean the game's over—not by a long shot. After Episode 7, we're diving into a whole new series that'll take us even deeper down the rabbit hole that is Sicae.
And with the year almost coming to a close, I really want to take a second to thank all my patrons—especially the OGs who've been rocking with me since day one. You know who you are. Thank you for believing in me and this crazy project of ours. We've come a long way, and I couldn't have done it without you guys.
Now, as for Episode 7, development isn't open just yet—I'm still in my resting phase, trying to recharge. But once things start rolling, I'll be sure to catch you all in the first status report for the release.

I like both avns the same but im pretty sure its because of the state the story are at this specific point. Mbml is kinda at a good point storywise for a "break" while Sicae is at a big cliffhanger and the story becomes more and more interesting.

Completely agree with you, Personally i like MBML a little more than Sicae (i enjoyed it a little more) and if i got to choose which VN is to finish first and sooner i would choose MBML, but at this particular point of time and mostly because of the Cliffhanger of the latest Sicae Update while MBML is at a good point story wise is better that the next update to be a Sicae Update

Yeah and going back to mbml after the sicae finale works out pretty good. As standalone games i prefer mbml too because of the LI's but i really am a sucker for all the lore in sicae, it enhances my enjoyment of mbml
