Adding multiple roles to choose from wouldn't be the minimal effort path. It'd double the work since then if NiiChan wanted everything to make sense they'd have to rewrite the dialog to make sense for both options, not just the one they choose.

Even with your suggestion an incest patch wouldn't be as easy as just changing the role names. It'd involve the modder going through and doing what NiiChan is right now to remove the incest, changing the dialog to make it make sense. A patch that just changes the characters roles without adding any dialog changes to reflect them being family would be pointless.

It sounds like you think NiiChan is just removing the role tags and picking one. I didn't get that from the announcement at all.



They are restructuring scenes and reworking some of the dynamics plus tuning the dialog. Not just removing the role tags.

Maybe the game could follow a similar approach to what some developers have been doing. Before the mass removal of +18 games. From Patreon, some devs would release a censored version on the platform. However, they also provided an optional patch that restored the original content. These patches didn’t just change tags; they brought back removed scenes, reinstated family ties between characters, and adjusted how they interacted and addressed each other.

That said, implementing something like this would probably require restructuring parts of the game to make it work properly both with and without censorship. Would this be viable with My Bully? Personally, I think it might be. But ultimately, that’s up to NiiChan, only he can judge whether it would be worth the effort or too complex to implement.

Yeah, that’s pretty much what he said, lol. That’s basically how the developer of Tales from the Unending Void used to do it too. I played the uncensored version for years, and only later found out there was an incest patch

I don’t think this would be feasible for games like The Coffin of Andy and Leyley, since the entire plot revolves around the relationship between the two siblings

Removing the incest element in this case would be practically impossible without dismantling the whole story. I’m honestly curious to see how the developer will manage to work around this limitation

The real issue would be releasing the uncensored version on platforms like itch.io or Steam, since they’re tied to payment processors. But if site isn't connected to those services, I think it’s fine to keep the uncensored versions available

Im probably in the minority (maybe the only one lol) but i would prefer klara and skye to not be lewdable over the story becoming nonsensical.

This is what’s really bothering me right now, the relationship between Sky, Klara, and the MC is deeply rooted in them being a family. That’s what explains why Sky has always been so attached to him since they were kids, and why Klara has such a strong emotional connection to both the MC and Jovian.

I have an idea that might work for the story, or maybe not, but here it goes: Jovian could still be the MC’s biological father, a widower or single dad since the MC was very young. Klara, on the other hand, could be Sky’s mother, also widowed or single. The two families were always very close, maybe even longtime neighbors. That could justify why Sky and the MC grew up so close, almost like siblings, forming a sort of "blended family," even if there was no blood relation.

Maybe Klara and Jovian had a brief thing when they were teenagers but went their separate ways and ended up with other partners. Years later, they reconnected and raised their kids together, but never officially married. When Jovian died, it only made the emotional bond between the three of them stronger.

But here’s the issue: would Itch.io and Steam see that as acceptable? Like, “okay, they grew up together, but they’re not actually siblings”? Or would it still be considered taboo because, socially, they acted like a family, even without a blood connection?

Once you reach prologue ep7, let me know what you think. Both of your suggestions will likely result in a complete overhaul of the story and we don't want that unless you can wait a couple of years for a rework.

This can be easily changed to make it something he inherited from his birth mother instead of Klara, leaving the blood tie to Sicae intact. Jess could be aware of that, seeing as information is her main strength to begin with.

Yeah i feel thats kindaaa necessary, at the moment it looks like its not the case:



Klara and Sky are Georgia's descendants while Kei is Jess's "boy" (employee or has it a deeper meaning?)



No Claire, it seems thats not the case anymore (i suspect this is a continuation error now).

The easiest solution would maybe be to make Jovian the younger brother of Seth? But it would need reworks too and would be a bit strange that sicae mc and mbml mc's dont know each other despite family bonds hmhmhm
