Okay, serious question. Throughout most of the reviews in this thread. I see "pacing is off." Is this due to how I handle the girls' progressions in the story? Or is it a bigger issue that I'm not aware of? I'd appreciate someone who can answer this calmly and objectively. And if you're going to answer lack of sex, then don't bother. I know what I'm doing in that regard, and the story will stay a priority.

Here is my take on the game so far, and to be clear it is just a humble opinion and not a rant:

For me the only gripe was the fact that almost every main LI be it Sky, Gwen, Emma, Aine are already in love or have feelings for MC since way back. So too much of past childhood love trope is there. If not with Emma or Aine it could have been avoided with Gwen.
I loved how you showed Aine's darker side and her conflicting emotions towards it, Gwen's family issues and Moon's past life relation too was done beautifully.

There are folks in the reviews who didn't like huge flash back episodes but I have no issues with that although as much as I loved Emma's solo arc with the adoption, I do feel it happened too soon. Maybe later on in the game when majority of the issues have settled down and as a player we are given a choice for Emma solo ending, this hard hitting arc would have been a beautiful closure to her and MC's life together.

As far as the models of LI's are concerned, you can't make it to everyone's liking. Some will like them others won't so no need to worry about it as half the fandom here lusts after Shu.

I think there is plenty of sex so far unless there are morons who are only here to see orgies and fuck fest will not be satisfied. Looking at the reviews it is clear most of the folks crying are about sex only.

At first the game did have dialogues that kind of cringed me but that had improved over time. When you are typing a dialogue for a romantic or emotional scene it will have a varied response, for some it will be too cheesy and cringe but for others it will be heartwarming. I do enjoy the humor part a lot.

When you have a plotline involving mafia and crimes it will be tough to keep the audience engaged, it is up to you how you do it in future as so far it has delivered well.

So far the game has been extremely enjoyable and will look forward to what comes next. Since the LI's arcs and storylines are too much in development to go back and changing it all will only ruin things.

Nope, no issues with pacing here. Just wanting more updates because I'm greedy.

i wouldnt say PACING is off but definitely to ME alot of jumping. We focus a bit on each girl little by little and as a harem it makes it hard to stay focused or attached to one or another. But it is minimal to me and i think the game is amazing with a twisting story :) great work Nii and keep it going.

Also question, why bother with phone feature this late in the game? Couldnt it just be image of phone and its messages come up as needed for story? Just curious :)

Building in a phone system can make it a little more engaging. And whether it is late in the game or not (I don't know how long he plans to keep this story going), but Chapter 1, Episode 4, implies to me that there are more chapters to come. I doubt we will see as much as a chapter 10 or something like that, but it certainly implies more than 1. While this story has been going for a while, it could still be early in the overall plan from Niichan.

Also, any spin off games he may ever make, or standalone games, he will already have the phone built, so he could more easily add that feature to any other title since he had done the bulk of the work already.

The only statement I will say concerning this is.... More Moon. That's the answer. Pacing feels off? More Moon. Lack of Sex? Moon. Story feeling stagnant or stuck? MOON!

I really appreciate seeing a dev engage (especially on here) with followers, taking feedback, and being open. You're one of the examples people should look to for a good dev in this space.... Even with a concerning lack of Moon :ROFLMAO:

Yeah, my writing style is very one-off and jumps between perspectives a lot. I believe it allows me to dig deeper into a girl/character and push for greater impact while I multi-thread the others in the background, rather than chunking their arcs into parts. So like, every episode has an intro and an ending on itself.

Regarding the phone, the system itself was easy to make. I had it up and running in like... two days of scratching my head (still needs optimization due to bunch of texts, but it's working as it is rn). It's not really a huge system. Just a phone you can pull up so you can read past messages any time you want. If there's a scripted message, the phone will pop up automatically. However, what pushed the update was the phone's content. When Chapter 2 starts, the phone will pop up, and you can read the past conversation the characters had throughout the 1-year time-skip. And there's a looooooooot! :KEK:
Don't worry, though, there's no lore dump in there. I just need it so the time skip will be easier to swallow. But there are some interesting things in there. Foreshadow, a bit of lore, etc., and of course, some lewds.

As soon as I finished Aine's, I read, and it took me almost an hour to finish her backlog. But I'm a slow reader, so I can't really say much about you guys. Not everyone is chatty, but almost half of the girls have hundreds of lines of text.

Oh yeah, I'm aware of my past bullcraps. :KEK:
Thinking of it now makes me want to vomit.
This was me thinking of an easy way in. So this is something I want to improve in my future game.

Same with this part. I'm not sure if it was you, but someone pointed it out, and I realized it was indeed too early. But yeah, a lot will change if we have to go back. So we just keep moving forward.

A bit too much flashback, a bit unclear timing, a bit jumpy in focus and scope. especialy off in the recent update tbh. also the stream of sicae chars didn't help (esentialy a bit of confusion for a cameo).
Edit: the most concerning part is that i remember it being worse in the latest update...

My issues with pacing are specially early on when we are introduced to a lot of characters and some parts like working at the burger shop drag a bit too much and don't seem to go nowhere since Lily just takes a step back for most of the story, which I know by season 2 her time will come but those earlier parts seem to dump a lot of information about her past and personality only to go nowhere.

I also find that we are introduced to the fantasy elements a bit too abruptly, this was to me more noticeable in Sicae where everything seemed relatively "normal" until suddenly we are introduced very quickly into the whole clan system, I didn't have as much issue with MBML in that regard although in my case I played Sicae first so I kinda suspected there was more to it, but I do have the feeling If I had played MBML first I would've felt similarly at certain point in the story.

That being said, in both games I think it's mostly the earlier parts though, the writing and the way you portray the story tends to improve a lot once you get past that.

May I specifically ask what you found wrong in the latest update?
in order to propertly answer i'll need to replay it and i'm not sure when i'll have the time for it. perhaps at weekend but more likely after the festivities. this was answered from memory and i would like to refamiliarise before delving deeper. sadly there seems to be no compressed version i can find either.

NiiChan try not to worry too much about everyone's reviews here as what's done is done. The game had a few issues in the past but it has improved a lot with each new update.

As you said you already knew where you fucked up in the past which is a great thing for a creator. Let's leave what has happened till now in dirt and move forward as things are looking well for the game instead of reading and worrying about opinions of every single person.

I still do read them. They can point out some things, even small ones, that I'm not aware of.

I think it can be off. There are two issues I had.

The first being a bigger one, the flashbacks. It was a lot. You would spend little time in the present than immediately spend like entire updates on just the past/flashbacks. I just think the flashbacks became too much and really messed up pacing to me.
I even struggled to want to get through game at times, cause it was just hours of flashbacks, when I cared a little more about the present.

The other issue is like I seen some others say is focusing only on 1 girl at a time. It kind of does make the other girls just feel less important and kind of less overall during that time. Like let's only focus on Gwen, or Aine, or Emma, etc. I think the flashbacks only added to this hyper focus on specific girls.
Maybe putting more equal spread at times and not focusing on mainly just one but multiple could help. Like many girls haven't even gotten much or very little development cause of this.

Just my thoughts on this. So I can see how the pacing is a issue and could be improved.
