I assume you don't even know who is that guy and what is he doing in the game. But if you check that gallery image once more, you can see familiar things on that, which may have give you a hint about The Thing.

what i know is that this game is getting, more males and that always mean something in the long run....... maybe im wrong, but i have see many devs do that shit over and over.

is that correct that the error only by changing the name cousin against room mate does not work?

Unfortunately, I'm not a programmer but I think it had to be possible to replace cousin with a script room mate and the old saves would run.
