Ren'Py - Completed - My Cute Roommate [v1.6.1 Ex Beta] [Astaros3D]

I'm giving the game two stars for outstanding models. They are gorgeous and busty.

The game has a lot of bugs and advancing through the story is difficult & confusing, even with the walk through. The game suffers from poor design.

I will check back in 2-3 months.

Be prepared to get frustrated and annoyed with the interface. Make sure you use the cheats because the mini games are annoying and tedious.

A lot of repetitive task to get only a small part of action... you will need 2 days of continue play to get to the interesting parts of the game, in the majority of the time it's a boring game from my perspective.
A lot of bugs and error with NO RETURN path because the developer is a dumb ass ... who in the world disables the back function??? when u have a buggy game, bugs jump on you when do no expect and when do you expect ), so bugs every minute.
Graphic is decent but the majority of the models in this game i have seen them in like 10+ other games, for example medical room, shop room, and others... it's nothing new the developer simply uses products that are cracked or stolen as the most of them do. A very few of the are actually creating stuff from 0, BECAUSE THAT WOULD TAKE MONTHS TO MAKE A GAME, they go for the quick reward.
Some models have an unnatural design with ugly looks totally NOT aesthetically.
I don't recommend this game, you can try and see if you like it.

Not tech savvy people will have to pay extra to avoid the extremely tedious and repetitive tasks. That's minus two stars right there. A shame, underneath this flaws and bugs (minus another star) you will find a gem but you'll have to fight your way through all those issues.

This is kind of a game I like , it is sandbox , you can do the events Anytime you want , great renders , it has some contradictions in it but still i like sandbox games , i like the games has events trigger other events , and cant wait to see the next update , great job dev

The game's art and concepts are so promising, but it's so grindy and the interface so buggy that it's almost unplayable. Even with cheats things still seem broken, with lots of rejection and dead ends. Completely rework things and I'd be happy to come back to this.

I really like games that actually try to be games rather than VNs where the only gameplay is to make binary choices that give you +1 "lust" or "love" if you choose correctly. Hence, I like My Cute Roommate despite its flaws.

The models and animations are outstanding. The story is fine, just enough to take you from scene to scene without too much mistranslation cancer.

The minigames are pretty tedious, but the newest version of the built-in cheats lets you skip them no problem.

Definitely don't get into any update on the ground floor, because it seems like the guy doesn't have a very rigorous QA process. But it all gets worked out eventually.

The writing is horrible, the difference between used models is a bit jarring. The 'gameplay' is just some button mashing or a memory game which you need to grind out for obvious gate-keeping of (future) content. Its only saving grace are the great stonking tits on your room mate/cousin and the fact that you get told off if you behave like an idiot.

Despite lots of bugs. This game has some really awesome artwork. The story is also getting more interesting for every update.
Extra plus Dev changed cousin into a roommate.
Hopefully the bugfix will be out soon for both pc and MAC.

Begin with the issues - there some of bugs and errors, second the simple story that cannot give u very deep expirence, but the art and the scenes are great and so hot this kinda save the situation and u forgot about long text conversation that offen can bore you.

Its just atmosphere, solid gameplay, and of course very hot roommate that does this game very hight rate.

I just checked this game.[v0.6.1 ex]. Dear developer, I hope you reading this. I have some suggestions because I think Sjoher had right in his review.
At first positives...all right one but big plus of this game is a visual side of it. Images looks good, chatacters arelooking quite realistic. Thats that.
But rest of the game requares a lot of work.
First if all, and most important - storyline is not so bad, I can live with it. But writting is really really really REALLY really bad. I couldn't even finish playing this becouse of bad writting. Maybe you could hire someone to do that for you becouse it cannot stay like this. And this, in my opinion needs to be done for this game to be succesful.
Maybe you shouldnt be so harsh with wrong dialouge choices.

There's some think I could you could consider apply in your game. Inventory option, some morrowind style player diary and better shopping option (to help me buy many things at one time without exiting shopping list menu).

I also had some issiues with performance. There was lag every thime when theres choice to be made. I played a lot of games onthis forumand it's firsttime it's happen.

This is an example of how NOT to make a game. Ohh dear, how this game has on average 4.5 stars (at the time this review is written) is beyond me. This game made me so angry that I'm boiling with rage right about now. Let's get this over with so I can delete this game out of my computer, avoid at all costs and get to more enjoyable games.

Story 1/5 -> To be honest here, I got so frustrated because of the dialog choices that I got mad after a short while so I gave up, sped through it with a walk-through to see if the reward was worth it. Spoilers, I never got that far. Story could be good or could be bad and I have no idea and couldn't care less. See Dialog choices for more info why I got mad.

Dialog choices 0/5 -> This is yet another "Wrong Choice = Game over" kind of game, but with a twist. Here, if you accidentally clicked the wrong choice and scroll back, the choice you made before is locked in. That means that you got to live with that choice or load a new game. Forgot to save? Well "boo friggin' hoo" You should've thought about that before you made the choice. Otherwise you just got to start over again. At least with other games you can roll back and choose the correct choice but here? Nahh why should we want a pleasurable enjoyment for a game. This is way too harsh and annoys me to the max. It even annoys me so much that I'm willing to say that this is WORSE than a Sloniqe game. Yes I said it, this is far worse. And this is written while I'm still in the intro scene and yet I have no desire to keep going, but I will with a walk-through just to see what is in it and if it is worth the effort.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. If you have to use a walk-through to get the correct answer/path, why bother with choices at all?

Also, now that I'm using the walk-through it says in the beginning "it assumes you already used all the cheats". So not only do you have to pick the correct answers, but you also have to cheat? Just how bad is this game?

Sexual Content+spelling 2/5 -> I rage quit before I could find any sexual content (clicked a wrong choice again while following the walk-through and forgot to save, meaning that I got set back because I didn't have enough stats). Judging by the change-log though I can see that there is actual content here so I gave it some points for that, but ohhh do I not have the patience to find it.

Domination/bdsm 0/5 -> This is kinda the same as to the Sexual content judgment but there is nothing that suggests this game has a bdsm or Domination path.

Pregnancy 0/5 -> Same as before, I rage quit before finding out and found nothing suggesting there could be pregnancy in the game.

Overall this means that this game gets 3 points out of 25, resulting in 12% or 1 star.
In my opinion this is the worst porn game I have tried, even going so far to be worse than Slonique games, and that says alot. If I could I would even give this game a 0 star out of rage.

I cannot stand this game anymore so I'm ending it here, deleting it from my computer and finding out if I can block this thread to avoid further disappointments.

I just jump in this game an update or so back and I have to say I'm very impressed. The renders, coding, animations are all top notch! Yes it's a little bit of a grind but it's easy enough to follow that you do not really need a walkthrough as it displays your tasks and the options are simple enough that a save or rollback is all you really need to complete them. I do hope more progress will be made with the cousin soon but there's plenty of other's to keep you busy and I can only wonder how many there will be when school does finally start if ever???

game takes too long to get basically, nowhere! Everything is too repetitive. I am at day 25 and only managed to fuck nurse. Give sperm sample everyday, work 2 jobs everyday and go back to cousins. It a Bridge to nowhere... Not very stimulating!

Love visiting the cousin when she sleeps

The nightmare was funny and rather scary in a humorous way. Sure the characters could use some depth and polish. But all in all they have personality and range. Giving the player the option to say crazy stuff and act really bad is a nice touch. I hope the developer will keep going and make this wonderful game more content in the same spirit.

The only things I don't like is that it is game over when you do bad things that anyone knows about and the fact that the game isn't going further down the dark path. The MC is desperate so he should do anything... we can't only hope and probably not pray for more

What more can be said about My Cute Cousin?

It's fantastic, and one of the best Ren'Py games across genres. I've followed Astaros since v0.2.0 and he's continually produced quality content at a dedicated rate.

The latest version (v0.4.0) is worth a download for a number of reasons (although my favorite is the photo session with the cousin, don't miss it). The story is good, the characters interesting, and the gameplay balanced.

Animations! Minigames! Great graphic! Many sexy ladies!
Better and better with each update. At first it looked poor, even old renders got better, so its damn good improvement. Minigames in older versions were harder so game was less enjoyable. It got better. Washing, fapping, end intelligence and strenght are aspects which make this game similar to real life. Proportions are somewhat not lifelike, but its a game so its understandable Plotwise it gets better and better. I can't say its good, but its nothing bad. Some scenes are realistic enough to be ejoyable. Even Cousin rape scene is added! So we got a taste of ultimate prize before going out with her or her falling in love with us. Its interesting way to show us something kinky.

It would be great if working and fapping could be omitted or even shortened couse it gets frustrating to waste hours of gameplay just to sort some trash in store magazine. Even fapping for money could be shorter. Couse its damn waste to watch the same scene over and over again.

With Cheats it is pritty enjoyable ride, but after mayour overhoul was rain of bugs which kept the game from getting better. I await mayor fix and update in which we will get all the things we want to see, without bugs in them.

Thumbs up for change which occured in version 0.7 couse it made this game even more lifelike and immersive.

The only problem I have found to be annoying as hell was dean spider bug. In which I cannot scare her aaand when I talked about fucking her she would not talk with me anymore, so no Anna coming back home, when mother hates me.

Besides bugs, some tranlation issues and not much content added. We have a great game with even greater plot potential which is not being developed properly. Mc does not have a connection with other characters, yet he somehow fucking them. It is not as enjoyable ride, even with animations when there is no connection with characters. Even title Cousin is.. just a flatmate we fuk.

Very nice plot, the graphics are absolutely fantastic, we hope it's best with upcoming updates, almost big brother levels, animation sequences are really a very good point of the game. The only bad thing is the sequences of action as in the gym and a few scenes of sex
