I have to work on my car today but I'm hoping I can at least get the main characters apartment building basics laid out today. should be a nice challenge because it's on the third floor. I wont need to lay out every floor just the MC's floor the hallway, lobby and the neighbors apartments. I can use the cookie cutter effect if I lay it out right so every room fits the same. like most apartments that were built as apartment buildings. that way I can always plug one or two in on different floors later if I need to.

pretty cool how fast you can throw something together in there, be faster once I can navigate and find everything easily

The cruelest bit of code I have ever written (this is before putting in the story info) the first line will go away once beta testing is done,

That moment you double check your wishlist in the daz store and realize you are over $5k.... hmmm
I don't even want to know how much my wishlist is... Even with Gift Cards and Discounts it must be thousands of dollars. And it seems to keep growing at an insane rate.

it doesnt stop, I basically just watch my list to see when something goes on sale, and I check the 100% list everyday, easy way to score stuff I download all of it because eventually (even like random textures or patterns) I may wind up with the product for it later. so far I have about 200 items free just by checking daily. in case you didn't know type 100% into the search bar in shop and hit "show all" then check "hide things I own" right now they have girls 6 and david 5 starter bundle for free

Nice tip thnx! :)
I must say though that I usually stick to Gen8 for my models/clothing and about the Gen3 era for environments. When starting out it felt like the right choice because I could use it the longest while keeping the amount of stuff in my smartview somewhat in check. I think that still is the right choice for me even if that means the amount of free stuff is limited.

If you guys wishlist is daz store stuff i envy you. The next items on my list are dual 1080 or 2080 ti's. After that it's a workstation level system (3900x, 4 gpu mb, 4x 2080ti's, Pure M2 Drives.. large ones, as much high speed ram as i can sell people into slavery for)..

I mean, my next upgrade is about $2k to move to amd and ddr4, with new mobo, ram, cpu, and maybe m.2 (non sata) drive. My 8 core isn't what it use to be back in the day, that and I want to do realtime simulations.

yeah that's beyond my range I would have to rebuild my whole system from the mother board out to even put in two cards.

definitely go with what works for you, I like having as many options as possible for everything. I'm also cheap as hell and don't want to spend one penny more than I have to lol

Don't get me wrong I'd love to build the workstation you describe. (and can't say I haven't salivated over the pc I put together on pcpartspicker). My system is, for now, good enough to render (most) of the scenes that I make at the pace I need. Probably because I spend a lot of my time in pre-production for Collings University right now. Meaning I don't need to render that many images at the moment and only a few images have given me real trouble.

Hehe I can't say I'm not cheap. I'm just also a sucker for the newest toys ;)

I am too but with as many not cheap hobbies as I have (motorcycles, fishing, camping, gaming etc...)I cut corners wherever it's not going to hurt me. I just dumped 10k on a new camper (not counting tow package for my vehicle etc) this fall so it cut into my fun budget a bit. since the game building was something I just wanted to give a shot to kill the cabin fever blues I dont want to over spend beyond the needed things (like a video card that will reduce render times) and I want to point out I'm not even middle class when it comes to income so smart spending helps me play the way I want to as long as I keep working my ass off lol

heres a daz question (I know my thread is all over the place) clothing, obviously most daz clothes are skin tight (or nearly) but I keep having the tips of certain hairstyles clip and fall below the clothes instead of on top... (most of these are not d force) whats my workaround, hal;f the time the hair adjustments don't move the parts that fall beneath the clothing. like this one (don't judge the image its a gag for one a friends boyfriend) but the hair clipping bugs the shit outta me.

In (above) the scene tab is a quick menu, click on the tree lines to open it, in there go to show -> hidden, you should see "hidden" in parameters tab now when you unfold the hair. In there you'll find corrective morphs. Look for breast morphs and use the slider to move the hair away from the breasts.

weird squiggles, cant tell if that's hair collision or problems with the LIE or geoshell maybe? right at the hairline

I would have to guess it's a hair fit problem swapped out to a different hair and all the mini squiggles vanished, literally the only thing changed was the hair, but I really like the side cut on her. (even if the color wasn't right)

I went in and messed around eventually realizing I had already had those settings visible and the fixes wont let me move the hair far enough, it boils down to a limitation of the hairs movement range being non d force I cant lift them above the clothes to let them fall down onto them. I guess there is a reason the hair was free. LOL

Did you try to remove limits? Click on the gear icon next to a morph slider and remove the check mark in parameter settings.
If this doesn't help, you could try fit control or mesh grabber, they are essential tools anyway (I've never used it for hair though).

I did not remove the limits, I'll try that. It's not really essential since it was a gag render to send to my friends boyfriend so she could mess with him about weird porn photos
