I mean tiktok (let's not debate its merits) has a pretty esteemed algorithm, and it's pretty sure I'm a lesbian. I don't get straight dude thirst traps I get the ones aimed at lesbian or bi women... which as a straight guy just looking, titillation is tittilation but it's kinda funny how off base the algorithm is (but also still dead on target).

Me too... I think I trained it well. Instagram too. LOL I don't follow any lesbian account, but, in each 10 videos 5 or 6 are of that. Which makes me VERY happy. Thank you Tik Tok.

Peace :D

I will give my two cents (from a developer perspective) about the lesbian/not lesbian/bi-sexual/harem/poly/NTR thing you have been discussing. Those two cents only apply to My Dorm. The next project could be different.

I love girl-on-girl scenes. Period. I don't care if they are lesbians, bi-sexual, or whatever.
But I only want them in our game if they are justified.
Would it be fun to have a pure lesbian scene with Meemaw, Betty, Martha, Norah, Erika, Daphne, and Emma? Perhaps. But it wouldn't fit.
Would it be fun to have a scene where two (or more) girls interact with the MC and between them? Sure. And that's much more justifiable. And it's about to happen in some updates for those with lesbian content unlocked. Those with it locked will see a slightly different scene.
Would that mean those same girls will do things behind the back of the MC? No. That would be NTR (not the cloning company).
Would that mean those same girls will do fun things without the MC present? No. That would be Sharing and would mean they are interested sexually/romantically in each other.
It's not the case. There won't be NTR (beyond business) or Sharing (stock shares don't count). The girls can (optionally) do things in the heat of the moment between them. Always with the MC present. Always with the MC participating.
It's a harem game, not a polyamory game. For me, and it's a personal perspective, it's not the same.

In today's world being called homophobic, racist, fatphobic, nazi, xenophobic, etc. is a badge of honor as, quite often, people throwing those words at you don't even know the meaning behind them.

Not liking girls hooking up fits into the meaning of homophobic term. A term that is used to describe someone who dislike and/or have prejudice against gay people and actions. A term that exists like many others, becasue people are, by design, lazy and do not like to use too much energy, including talking or writting if it ain't necessary.

Yet, in order to have a reaction, like the dislike of lesbians, we need the action that caused it, the reason.
Only by asking the man who is homophobic why he is homophobic we can learn it or work it out, because he may doesn't know fully himself. If not, we can only try the guessing game.
We're slaves to our emotions, and the reason may be basically dislikining lesbians, due to not having option to participate with them. Not liking girls to hook up may be feed by man's fear of girls growing on eachother so stong they might forget about him.
Basically, what you are saying is that what causes them to be homophobic is Insecurity. They are afraid that girls knowing that there are "other" options, may make them less agreeable to the bad service you provide. So, instead of improving your game, you prefer to "hate" the "options", because that's more rational.

FUCK, I said I wasn't going to involve myself in this...

Where's the door.... the door, I need to leave...

Peace :(
The term "phobic" means "fear of". Then there's that "insecurity" thing also being thrown around.

People can dislike something for whatever reason without fear of it and without insecurity - they just don't like it. People that do like or champion certain things often seem to fear, or be insecure about, those that don't like what they do. Calling a guy "transphobic" because dating a dude in a dress isn't his thing is pure stupidity. If a black guy doesn't want to date an Asian, Hispanic or Caucasian woman, does anyone call him racist? Or a black woman that only wants to date black guys? I know white folks are called racist if they prefer a partner in their own skin tone, but that argument doesn't seem to go any other direction, at least on the Western side of the Atlantic.

Just quit calling it "fear" or "insecurity" and admit that you don't like everything some other people like, and some other people don't like everything you like, unless you want to brand yourself an insecure phobic the way you brand others.

What you just described, I would call "story integrity", which is something I highly value in an AVN (it can singlehandedly make or break it, IMO), and something I appreciate your dedication to.

I think I'm phobophobic. People who fear things scare me...

Fuck it.

I have to get in. I ask your full comprehension if I am too rough or say things that may hurt your feelings. You have all been hurting mine and I was able to take it. I only ask the same.

This discussion has been focusing in 2 things, like they are the same, when it is completely not. Not liking something and being phobic of it are 2 very different scenarios that need to be treated separately.

The Not Liking - I have nothing against it, if you can moderate your feelings. I don't like several kinks that many of you seem to enjoy, and while I may talk about it, I have never asked for it to be removed or even to be made optional (I do appreciate when the Dev goes to that trouble, but never asked for it). Yet, on every game thread that bears the tag Lesbian, it is ALWAYS present the demand to make it optional, or even worse make it not happening. Folks, the tag was already there, you don't like it, fly away. Or, at the very MINIMUM, be respectful of those that do like it and are there because of it. You can request, maybe ONCE, you shouldn't make a hundred posts about it drawing the full sect into it. I get it. You don't like it. The Dev included it by it's own reasons, check if it can be Optional, if not, move the fuck on. Or, use CTRL and skip it. YOU are in control of the content you watch. Like I am. Like I do in spanking, humiliation, domination, and other BDSM scenes that I abhor. When they aren't optional. That's how I managed to play Karlson's Gambit. I didn't pester the Dev or the thread with requests or demands.
This, is the main point of contention, you are completely free to not like something, it is completely ok with me. You are NOT free to try and limit MY freedom of having games with content that I adore, or having to read the same post, over and over and over again. This attempt to uniformize ALL games to YOUR taste is NOT OK. Whether it makes sense in the game or not. If you can have FP games where she behaves like a 16 year old male and tries to fuck the world, you can have MP games where some girls like tacos AND sausage. These girls are WAY more common than the others both in games and IRL. Also, depending on how you speak about lesbianism with your female friends, you'll be able to learn that many of them have experimented with it and many liked it. They will NOT tell you if they don't feel secure enough about your views, that I do suspect you make apparent every time the subject is touched. Believe me or don't, but it has been studied that the main traffic of Lesbian Porn is by Heterosexual Women. They are also the main consumers of Gay and Bisexual males porn.

The Homophobia - This is where I applied my term of "Insecurity". You are not an Homophobe just because you don't like a certain sexual act. You are, however, one, if you don't like people that practice those acts. I don't like Gay sex, so I don't have Gay sex, I don't watch Gay Porn, etc... But, I enjoy the company and friendship of several Gay and Bi people. I don't make a fuss when they kiss, or demonstrate their love with their S.O.. In fact I find it endearing that they feel secure and safe to do it in my presence.
That's the difference, and it has been misconstrued in this discussion, that by not liking something you are this or that. If there are idiots that use the term, they are probably reacting to the over the top posts that people that don't like Lesbian porn do. Sometimes, it is very complex to discern if they are or aren't Homophobes. The way they express their dislike is sometimes too aggressive to be just a simple dislike and transcends into an absolute hate, that is already on the specs of Homophobia.
An Homophobe and all the other Phobias based on differences, are based in "Insecurity". In the fear of being found inferior in comparison (sometimes a very well founded fear). But most of all they are based in "Ignorance" and on the reluctance of learning.

This discussion doesn't have anything to do with this game, this Dev or this Thread. No one is at risk here of having Lesbian scenes stuffed in your faces. It is completely Optional, you have several ways to control the content, via Menu choices and on each scene. So, while My Dorm is NOT affected by none of this, you have all decided to pull this subject and spent a full day petering the thread with your views, while I tried as much as I could to stay silent, when this subject touches ME quite deeply. If a Dev wants to include Lesbian or Bi girls in his game, I will play it sooner or later (unless there are other kinks that I abhor with greater preponderance). But, I ALWAYS find the same people demanding with full disrespect that scenes that (sometimes) are important for the story, be made optional or non-existent, because some easily offended person can't be bothered to use the controls available in the Engine to bypass the scenes that offend them. This insistence and permanent disrespect offends me. Mostly because it is easily avoidable, if the problem is seeing the scene, just press CTRL and move on. If the problem is that the scene exists, then it is getting into the Homophobia part. Maybe not completely, but it is getting there.

The way you all felt the right (which I applaud) to express your views, is commendable, but, I feel that my views will not receive the same reception. I would never force you to like or be exposed to content you don't like, but, you all feel the right to make all that you can to deny me content that I prefer. I don't find this equitable or fair. Your actions stay with you, obviously.

Peace :(

Exactly what I've been sayin. Even though I said it simply and you wrote a book about it. I doubt many people will read it as it seems literacy isn't really a thing in this day and age. Which is sad af. Hell, most of the kids today have never even held a real book in their hands or felt the enjoyment of turnin an actual page.

Bra-fucking-vo. Well said. I don't like foot stuff I don't feel the need to shout it to the heavens everytime it's in a game. I'm honestly not that into lesbian sex divorced of the context of the women being "my" lovers as is the framework in most AVNs I play. But I come off like some crazed lesbiphile because so many people on these boards basically charge gleefully into hatespeech because, allegedly, they're just not turned on.

It's bonkers.

Peace :(
You may make that distinction; the problem is, people that make the distinction still get shouted down for being "phobic" or "insecure" or "hateful". Certain very vocal elements of society claim that if we don't embrace this or that, then we are awful, terrible people. One can be agnostic about God, but one is not allowed to be agnostic about certain other things. It's a double standard.

That is all.

I can't be more than myself. I can't accept responsibility for anyone else.

That is also ALL.

Unfortunately the root of all this is human nature. Too many people, no matter the flag they fly, seek to be in control of what others can and cannot do. This is one of many reasons we applaud so heartily when a dev stands his or her ground against the onslaught of pedantic pornocrats.

K, that's my rant.
