I'm on my first playthrough still in season 1, and man, it would have been nice if there was a Kim path where I don't have to be an asshole but I also don't have to tell her I "love" her skin condition. I have no intention of pursuing a relationship with her because I do not find her attractive, but I also wouldn't be a dick and tell her that she should wear full body makeup all the time to hide her condition/be ashamed of herself. There really should have been a middle ground.
Not to mention that not going all in on her also causes you points with all the other starting students. From what i've read you want everything to be optional, but in this case it seems like you're punishing players for not going totally full harem. It makes it feel like not a choice.
The points only make options appear, they don't lock you in a route. The route itself is ALWAYS an option and clearly marked.
Being unfriendly or unkind to any of the girls is NOT necessary and it is optional, it allows you to be a "jerk" if that's what you want to play as.
On Kim's case, being on her good graces and being supportive of her and of her condition, will make the possible romantic route available. But, since you don't want to pursue it, it will also make her a good friend and a more confident person.
Also, Trope allows for the player to have autonomy, but only up to a point, there are still limits. Because the scenes to render can't border on infinity. This isn't procedurally generated, each scene needs to be rendered. So, calm your tits. You are not being punished for not going full harem, you are just being told the consequences.
In this case, if you choose to be a "jerk" all girls will be crossed with you, as they should be. And because you don't have to be, so, it is optional behavior, it is quite correctly applied.
You aren't one of those that see "consequences" as punishment, are you? Because they aren't. In this case you are asking for a consequences free way to be a jerk. I don't think there should be one. Actually I would ask for the consequence to be even worse.
Peace
