Note that, in order to have a smaller cast, the girls with the highest probability of being cut off would be the students (and Megan and Maddie, so no Zeus either). The family (and Amanda and Eva) should be there, as should the Washingtons (I wouldn't cut Jamaal off).
It would be a totally different game.
On a related note, I will say that season 2 has been difficult to get through for me. Meaning no disrespect at all, and hoping to not draw too much fire, the bulk of the cast means that it gets SO repetitive. You keep having the same conversations with every character with only little variations. Even the sex scenes feel very repetitive.

There is just so many different character types that all sorts of sexual dynamics could have been explored, but it hits me personally as sort of cookie cutter.

That is so far at least. I haven't finished season 2 yet. It does leave me kind of concerned about how things are gonna go when the next set of students arrive.

Don't take the 'hate' too literally.
I meant it solely in the 'cruel world' context, unrelated to the game.
You know, the way you wish to not have a brother so you'd had more cookies.
You should have seen the guy a couple of years ago that was always lamenting about not enough opportunities to be dommed by Maddie. He may have actually harmed himself when he found out the Dom and Sub routes were going to eventually merge into the romance route... I suspect you might still have some throwback dialogue to one or the other, but no need for Trope to render scenes with three different outfits and different orderings.

1 - which one was Maddie?

2 - I am not sure what is your point. Path-baiting is the cancer of VN's, and if there's femdom path that merges with the opposite - that's just plain bad design.
Before either of you get too much into this wrong path, there's a few things you need to know:

- The Dev had no previous experience on the Domination paths.
- He wrote it intentionally without any research, in order for the experience to be completely new to him and the characters.
- Afterwards he understood that it wasn't something that he enjoyed writing, posing and rendering.
- The Dominance paths were integrated into the Romance path because there was no interest in his part to make 3 scenes, when 2 of them he really didn't enjoy.
- The complaints of the scenes not being satisfactory for those that looked for them, were another reason to end it.

Unfortunately, those scenes remain. Adding to the TAGs, bringing in people that are looking for that content. Making the thread deal with it.

I can't speak for the quality of the Dominance paths, never saw them, I have zero interest in them.

If you play them, have this caveat in mind, it was an experiment, it ended.

Peace :(

No - he had been lamenting that with the large cast, it would likely take a while to get back around to Debbie - a sentiment with which I can sympathize - and then followed up with the "Don't take the hate" comment. However, it WAS a comment that came after that about Maddie that prompted the connection in my brain between the Maddie guy and the current commentary.

Maddie is the store clerk with the cat named Zeus. She had three potential paths (well, four if you count "no path" as a path): romance, dom and sub - all mutually exclusive. However, with all of the permutations in the VN with so many LIs, scripting and rendering three different paths, with and without pregnancy, for the entire course of the VN, proved to be a bridge too far, so, as you'll see/have seen in Season 3, after seeing the family dynamic, she has a change of heart about having a dom/sub relationship (from either direction) and wants to follow a romantic path, the way the other girls do. It was for practicality and is simply an evolution of a casual relationship that starts one way, but becomes something more eventually. No intentional bait-and-switch, but simply a streamlining of the design since the orignal vision was a complication that, ultimately, was something unnecessary and, honestly, at odds with the overall tenor of the VN.

Writing a game for the first time is a learning experience (and I'm not trying to look for excuses about what I did wrong). I hope the second game still is.

I know there are parts of Season 2 (including some in Season 1) that are repetitive (The "I can say I'm with other women, but not with who" conversation is the most glaring exponent). It was important to me that each girl dating the MC in secret had that conversation because I couldn't know who the players were dating. Today, I would have done it differently.
I will do it differently when the new students arrive. If there is a harem in place when the MC meets them, that conversation makes no sense. If there isn't one, they would be so integrated into the family that they won't need the secrecy.

About Maddie: She shouldn't be in the game (like Megan). They were planned as side girls (with Sophie, the hairdresser) to provide for sex scenes while the other relationships were developing and had an expiring date. The community asked them to stay and I was noobish enough to comply without having a role or a story for them. I needed to improvise and decided to experiment with Maddie's triple route. I know nothing about sub/dom dynamics, and I wanted the MC and Maddie to know nothing about it so, against what I usually do, I didn't research anything about it. It didn't turn out well. The quantity of work of writing three slightly different scenes didn't justify it. Why slightly? Because they are the same people in each of the paths. Making a choice doesn't change who they are. The idea was for the scenes to become more divergent with every instance (the movie date is almost equal with very small changes, the second date involves more changes, and the idea was to continue that path of increasing divergence). But when I finished doing the second date scenes I discovered one thing. They don't laugh in the Dom and Sub paths. Those paths didn't fit with them or with the theme of the game. So I scrapped them in the most realistic way I could (when Maddie sees what the relationship can become at the pool party, when the Big Reveal happens).
I said above she shouldn't be in the game. I'm happy she is.

Maddie is the Asian store girl. It wasn't path-baiting. It was an experiment that didn't turn out like I would have liked.

Didn't want this to get lost in the last comment. However, a little harebrained speculation (that maybe is already resolved and I'm not there yet):

While that may have already been proposed and discussed, I haven't been as active on the site over the last year and could easily have missed it. If it's already happened (I'm only part way through "release 22" and about to have pastries with Sam), well, I guess I'll find out soon enough!
