Nah - it was "South America" before the canal. That area is basically a land bridge between two continents, just like the one that is now covered by the Bering Sea between Eastern Asia and North America.

While I agree if you're comparing the entities as a whole without qualifications, stylistically they're so different and doing such different things with their storytelling ... I think it is fair to say that what each one does well is as good or better than what the other does well, and that both can be true at the same time.
But really, they're both fantastically-told stories and don't really deserve to be compared, IMHO.
All that said, don't start another pineapple argument!

I wouldn't be speaking German. The only time the US was needed to defeat Germany was in WWI, and the Germans wouldn't have gone all the way to the Pyrenees. Without the US in the second round, I would be speaking Russian at most. Also, without the US in the first round, maybe there wouldn't have been a much harsher second round, so the US contribution to the WWs as a whole can't be perceived as something positive (in hindsight) besides what Hollywood sold for 50 years.
I'm happy you intervened in the second round, though; my throat and Russian aren't friends.

Heck Trope, I just turned 71 and I don't understand what half of the people on this forum are talking about...but more importantly, even WHY.
Anyhow, about half the time I just load up the game to look at the naked pictures until the next update comes out.
