The implications of having Saira and Edmund around are huge. Perhaps the MC isn't in the café to catch Jack. Perhaps Saira discovers she's in love earlier, doesn't go to India, and seals the relationship. Without the Dorm, perhaps even the MC doesn't return to Newport (remember he had job offers from several firms). Or maybe he stays in Portland with Saira for a year, working in the company he was working for while studying.
I'm happy we won't know. Since My Dorm is the best-case-scenario for every character (besides Edmund, Jack, or Jonas), any other combination would be sad.

Nope,It's a short visit. So no Simone, no Scarlett, no Eileen. He visits the family, seen Erika, started the relationship. They probably won't go public with it. After they move in together, they can break the news.

But you are missing this is an alternative timeline. In my timeline MC has completely different mindset. First of all, he knows he has limited time like a few days, a week tops. He is also not worried about whole Dorm business. He goes after Erika because he can't miss his shot. Rick cheated on (what a fucking idiot) because she was unsure, also comparing to MC thing still holds truth. Which means, Erika would accept this advances. So,

(otherwise UCLA, UCB aka Cal or USC for certain as far as California schools.) Trope was talking about ivy leagues though and Stanford is the lone west coast ivy league school. Although in retrospect seeing as how both Daphne and Scarlett are heavily into STEM disciplines , CalTech, UCB or UCLA with it's medical program might be preferable to an ivy league.
